Jawaharlal Nehru University offers BTech through School of Engineering in a full-time mode covering two specialisations, including  Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. JNU admission to BTech is based on JEE Main scores, follwed by the counselling process. JNU cutoff 2024 has been released for admission to the BTech courses. Based on the Round 1 JEE Main cutoff 2024, the closing rank for CSE was 22669 for the General category students under the AII India Quota.

Total seat intake is 11 for JNU MPH programme. The final seat allotment procedure is carried out in accordance with the seat intake only. It must be noted that the seat count mentioned here is as per external sources. Hence, the actual seat intake may vary. No, JNU does not offer BA Hons in Economics. The Hons courses are only offered in foreign languages. However, interested students can enrol for a BA (Hons) course in a foreign language and choose Economics as an optional subject. There are over 965 seats for MA courses. The seat reservation policy is carried out as per a set of rules. Reservation of seats in various programmes of study for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category is 15%, 7.5%, 27% and 10%, respectively. As per the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act, 2016, not less than 5% seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

Candidates seeking admission to the PG course must meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. The minimum age limit for admission to a MA course is 17 years as of 1st October of the year of admission. Candidates applying for the course also have to present a birth certificate or any other legal document as age proof for verification purposes. Admission is confirmed only after the verification of the documents. Candidates must ensure that they meet all the required eligibility criteria before applying for the MA programme.

Candidates with an MBBS degree or an MSc in Nursing or equivalent (with a minimum of 55% aggregate or equivalent grades) and one-year experience in community health are eligible for this course. Admission is based on a CUET-PG followed by an interview. The candidates shortlisted further need to take part in the interview or viva round. Based on overall performance in the selection rounds, the seat allotment procedure is carried out.

The total seat intake for the JNU BSc-MSc course is 20. This is as per the information given in the latest JNU brochure. Moreover, the seat intake for BSc courses offered by NDA is not available. Candidates can visit the NDA official website (nda.nic.in) or get in touch with the admission office for details regarding the same. During counselling, seats are allotted to the students based on performance in CUET and as per seat availability.

For admission to the JNU BSc course, aspirants need to apply for CUET-UG. The application process for the same is completely online. Interested students can apply for CUET by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 2: Click on “Fill Application Form for CUET 2024” and create a login ID.

Step 3: Login with the generated credentials and fill in the personal and academic details.

Step 6: Pay the application fee and click on ‘Submit’.

JNU Delhi does not accept the Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) for admission to the BTech courses. To be eligible for JNU BTech admission, candidates must have a valid JEE Main score. The final selection is based on JoSAA counselling process. The JoSAA counselling is usually held in the month of September. This year, there will be six rounds of seat allotment.  

JNU MCA admission is based on a valid Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) CUET-PG score. CUET PG is an all-India-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). According to test-takers, the General Test was easy and the Domain Knowledge section was moderate to tough. Although the questions were on the expected lines and within the CUET PG syllabus but according to some students, a few questions were out of the syllabus and tricky. So, the JNU MCA entrance is not very tough but can be tricky. 

As per the NIRF 2024 rankings, JNU is ranked 2nd, while DU is ranked 6th under 'University' category. This clearly suggests that JNU is a better university overall. However, these rankings are based on a variety of factors. Furthermore, the best university for a student will depend on the individual needs and preferences. Here is the comparison of JNU and DU based on some key factors:

• Academics: JNU is known for its strong academics and research focus. It has a number of world-renowned faculty members, and its students have gone on to achieve great things in their careers. DU is also a good university academically, but it is not as research-intensive as JNU.
• Campus Life: JNU has a vibrant campus life with a strong student union. There are many student organizations and activities, and the university has a reputation for being a hotbed of political activism. DU also has a good campus life, but it is not as political as JNU.
• Location: JNU is located in South Delhi, while DU is spread out across the city. This means that JNU students have a more central location, while DU students have more options when it comes to choosing a college or hostel.
• Fees: The fees at JNU are lower than the fees at DU. This is because JNU is a central university, while DU is a state university.

JNU has not released its 2023 placements report as of now. However, considering the NIRF report 2023, PG 2-year candidates received placement offers in the JNU 2022 placements. As per the overall report, the median package offered to the selected candidates stood at INR 7.95 LPA. A marginal decline of nearly 1% can be seen in the PG 2-year median package offered in 2022 as compared with 2021. Moreover, many top companies recruit JNU graduates every year. Some of the top recruiters in the JNU placements drive in the recent past have been companies like Adobe, TCS, Accenture, IBM, Google, and Amazon.

Yes, JNU also offers lateral entry admission to the second year of the BA (Hons) programme. Candidates who are willing to seek admission need to possess the first year of a bachelor's degree from a recognised institute/ university with a minimum of 45% aggregate. Additionally, it is also necessary that the relevant documents are presented such as the bachelor’s degree first-year mark sheet along with other educational certificates.

JNU MCA placement data 2023 is not released. However, according to JNU NIRF report 2024, the key highlights of JNU PG 2-year (including MCA course) placements over the past three years are presented below:
