NIT, Duragapur truly lives up to the NIT tag.

Placements: The placements for the academic year 2017-18 so far have been good. About 50% of the total eligible students have been placed with many companies coming in the final semester as well. The highest salary offered was 33 LPA CTC. The average salary is around 5 LPA. Some of the major companies which visited the campus were Amazon, Oracle, JP Morgan, DE Shaw, Mu Sigma, ZS Associates, Microsoft, L&T, Tata Motors, Futures First, Vedanta to name a few. The lowest non-core package offered is 3.16 LPA(CTC). The highest core salary is 9 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA. In core sectors, students are offered a job in the maintenance department and R&D. As a whole, you can join this college, though I am not satisfied with the teachings of faculty

Placements: Placements of software branches are very good. Every year, minimum 5 students get placed in Amazon. The highest package in CSE was 32 LPA which was offered by DE SHAW to a single student. Every software student gets placed and the average package for software students is 7 LPA. The electrical branch placement is good. Nearly 85% students get placed and many big companies like Mahindra, Tata Motors and Schneider come for placements. The highest package offered was 10 LPA whereas the civil branch ...

Overall review of NIT DGP.

Placements: This year the placement of the department was pretty good. Most of the students have already been placed in major companies like Directi, Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, PwC, JP Morgan, Oracle and other major multinationals. The highest package given was that by DE Shaw and Co and the offer was around Rs. 34 LPA (CTC).

The best college to revive the college life.

Placements: Last year, the placements were not good, but from this year as we have NK Roy sir in the placements department as a head, he has worked a lot for bringing companies to our college. By November, more than 70% of the students have already been placed. Many new companies visited the campus to hire the students.

Good placements in recent years

Placements: Placement stats are good and getting better. In 2016, 544 out of 715 students were placed on the campus and the rest went for higher studies. In 2017 placement was quite average. 460 out of 731 students were placed on campus. But this year (2017-18), the placement session is going pretty well. In the odd semester only almost half the students are placed. Internships have been offered to a good number of 3rd-year students. Particularly IT, CS, ECE, ME, EE and CH are the leading branches in placem...

Good college with proper placement training and good placements

Placements: Placements were decent with average salary reaching 6 LPA. Oracle FSS and Oracle Development came with good roles. ECE-specific companies like Nvidia, Qualcomm, Ericsson, Intel and Idea came with lucrative packages and roles. Internship opportunities can be given by college itself in reputed institutes like IIT Bombay.

Placements: The placements were really good with help and guidance from the faculty. The average salary was around 5.5 lpa with the highest salary of our batch being 35 lpa. More than 90 percent of our batch was placed, the highest number being in computer science and engineering. Bad placements in 2015 and dissatisfied with curriculum management.

Placements: The placements for our batch were not good as compared to those of the senior CSE batches. In total, 60-70 out of 100 students were placed. Almost everyone got placed in software companies like Amazon, Microsoft, PayU, Oracle, IBM, TCS, etc. The number of students getting an internship is very less. In our batch, the highest package was 18 LPA and the lowest was 3.18 LPA.

Dazed and confused during government subsidized 4 year long vacation.

Placements: The placements are usually good but '16 was a slow year. The following batch had much better luck. Computer and IT students are always leading the placements, in terms of highest average salary and the percentage of students placed. In core, even though most giants came for placements such as Maruti, Tata, Schneider, Honda, etc., majority did not fulfil their intake, taking only one or two students. Some completely skipped hiring and did not even take one student. However, most deserving stud...

Good college but overdependent on PSUs.

Placements: The placements were average for core branches and above average for IT and CSE. Very few people from core branches managed to get a job in core sector and most of them ended up in IT companies as most of the PSUs didn't turn up for this season as well. There were a considerable number of people who went unplaced and had to look for off-campus jobs/GATE preparation. Everyone from IT and CSE branches managed to get a job and most of them got into in the likes of Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Samsung, ...

A good college for the students who want to have a crux of good college life with study.

Placements: Placements are the same as other top NITs. PSUs like IOCL, BPCL are recruiting core branches like ME, EE and CH. The civil branch you should avoid as very less placements are taking place in it. IT and CS are almost having the same track record of placement. Qualcomm recently recruited 7 CS students with an annual package of Rs. 10 lakhs per annum.

Placements: Batch - 2017 (Total strength is 95, whereas in the website, they have written 87). Placement: 38/95, including mass jobs: 48/95. The highest Package: 14.5 LPA (Qualcomm). The lowest Package: 1.8 LPA (I don't remember anyone applying for this package, but the company visited. This is literally a shame for NIT Durgapur). Many companies did not visit campus this year. The average package of our college is 6.4 LPA and last year, the highest package was 27 LPA.
