Placements: The placements are good enough but some tier-1 companies like DE Shaw and Microsoft prefer to do away with NIT Durgapur, and more emphasis is laid on the final year placements rather than the 3rd-year internships. The placement percentage for CSE and IT goes as high as 70%, but the internships are as low as 20%.
Placements: The effort for placements are underwhelming. The placements are mainly headed by students with faculty playing little or no part of the initiatives. Given the merit of the students of this college, they deserve better opportunities. There's a lack of uniformity among all branches, and they are not equally represented in the industry.
Placements: Our batch was fully placed, but most were not relevant to the field of study. All total about 70% of the students were placed. A few people got the internships from computer science department. I don't have an idea of the placements because I was research-oriented myself. But many people got chance in Google Summer of Code. The internships were sought by the students solely. There will be no help from the college.
Placements: The placements offered were good. The students with excellent skills were getting jobs easier way in other jobs related to non-core branches rather than the core jobs. 10 lakhs per annum is the highest salary offered in my branch. In other branches, there will be higher than this, but this will entirely depend upon the capability of the students.
Placements: The placement is good for CSE and IT engineers, almost all the big companies like Amazon, Microsoft, D.E. Shaw, Direct I, Qualcomm, Oracle, Goldman Sachs visit every year. For other branches, the placement is average. Tata Motors for ME and L&T for CE are the highest paying companies. PSUs like DRDO, Coal India Ltd, BDL also visit the campus.
Placements: The placements were good with average salary reaching about 6 LPA and the highest salary was 35 LPA. More than 90% of our batch was placed. Companies like Microsoft and Amazon came with lucrative salaries and good post of software developer for the computer science and engineering batch. Mass recruiters like TCS and Wipro also came.
Placements: Actually, placements are going well this year on my campus for all branches. Up to the last year we have, most of the companies visited for software branches only. But this year, even core branches have more opportunities to placements. Most of the companies recruit students from every branch, I mean the company is open to all branches. Last year, the average placement percentage is less than 50%, but this year, I am expecting more. The average salary offered to mechanical students is about 5 to...
Placements: Placement is average. One can expect an average package of around 6 lakh. Some of the companies arriving at the college are Qualcomm, TCS, Infosys, Amazon, Wipro, IOCL, BPCL, L&T, Mahindra, Cognizant and others. The highest package for the year 2016 was 27 lakh.
Placements: Placements can be regarded as average. Some branches like CSE, ECE and IT have good placement statistics. Highest salary is 28 lpa, the average salary is 6.4 lpa as per last year statistics. Also, off-campus placements also good. Highest off-campus placement was of a student in Google.
Placements: Our college has a good placement record. It gives an average placement of 75% and many companies visit our college campus for recruiting B.Tech. and M.Tech. students. Some famous companies have also visited our college campus. The students here also got double job offers and some students have also got dream jobs. Students also have got good placements in PSUs through GATE.
Placements: Placements are not so good but some branches like CSE, IT, EC have better placement. They have approximately 80% campus placement. The average package is 6.4 LPA However, out of campus placements are good too. A CSE girl got 90 LPA from Google. If a student works hard, there is good chance to get placed. In this college, the civil department is not so good and has poor placement.
Placements: 48 students got placed out of 78 students, The campus hiring starts from July and till December or January. Everything will be done after January. We can not expect companies will come for MCA but in my senior batch of 2014, 1-2 companies came. In the entire year, you will get 12+ companies including 2 mass recruiters but all companies have criteria. The most common companies are TCS, IBM, NRI Fintech, Polaris Fintech, Oracle OFSS, AMDOCS, Amazon, Directi and Snapdeal. The highest package was of...
Placements: Placements are the worst compared to other NITs and IITs. The package offered is also very low. The placements for our senior batch are also quite low. Around 50% of mechanical students are placed in the companies including the mass recruiters. The highest package is offered for CSE and IT branches, so this college is better if you get a seat in CSE or IT. The internships offered are also quite low. Regarding the stipends, only some companies have offered a stipend. ...
Placements: Placement of my senior batch was average. Approximately, 60 percent students were placed and the highest salary offered was 10 lakhs per annum, the lowest was 1.5 lakhs per annum and the average salary was 3.0 lakhs per annum. Developer and consultancy roles were offered to students. 25% of the students got internships from the college. The highest stipend was rupees 19000 per month and the lowest was rupees 5000 per month.
Placements: Companies that visit are Amazon(Occasionally), Dristisoft, Factset, Excide, Oracle, Infosys, IBM, TCS, MU Sigma, Am Docs, Tata Metaliks, P.W.C, QUALCOMM, MAC, Hero Motocorp, Shapoorji Pallonji, L&T, Oracle, ZS Associates, Smartprix and many others. Also, PSUs like Jindal Steel Plant, IOCL, Coal India, C-DOT also come to our campus to recruit the toppers. It is said that 2012 was the golden era of our college. Companies like Adobe, Facebook also visited our college. Previously high paying or pres...
The college infrastructure is not good, placements are average, but the campus life is good. A good Internet connection is provided in the college, but the hostel food is not up to the mark. Faculty can be rated as average, some are cooperative, but most of them are not cooperative at all. The administration is very bad.
Nice environment, bad in management. No single rooms for master students. Enough time to get settled, no placements, overall ok, no proper examinations conducted, project work ok based on our interest, no cadence since 4 months, lab ok, marks will be given to everyone.
It was an awesome experience to be in NIT Durgapur. Enjoying hostel life, awesome people around me. Faculties that helped me out and motivated me to in my studies and career. In short my four years of engineering college will always be with me till my last moment. Those are the memories which can never be forgotten.
Being a student at Institute of National Importance has its own merits. Over the years NIT Durgapur has perhaps produced finest engineers who have made a pretty good fortune but at the same time I must draw the attention towards the point on which our college's performance is not as good as one would like to expect in an Institute of National Importance. For instance the infrastructure is not up to the mark but some progress is being made up, hope it continues. Now coming to faculty and researc...
