For admission in a BTech course at NITT, candidates shall have a valid score of JEE Main. Candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff marks further becomes eligible for participation in the JoSAA counselling round. If the seats are left vacant after this round, then those are filled through the CSAB counselling. No, there is not provision of direct admission to M.Tech at NIT Trichy. Aspirants must appear and qualify for GATE exam with a valid score. Other than this, candidates must pass graduation with minimum 60% aggregate in order to apply for this course. The final seat allocation is done through CCMT Counselling process. Admission to an MBA programme at NIT Trichy is done on the basis of merit in the CAT exam. In order to get admission to this course, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements as per the CAT exam and appear for the entrance exam. Candidates who are shortlisted based on exam scores are further required to go through a personal interview round. Moreover, a round-wise selection list is released on the official website of NIT Trichy for the selected candidates.

The aspirants with a BE/BTech degree with at least 60% aggregate can apply for M.Tech at NIT Trichy. For admission to MTech, candidates must have a valid score of GATE, which shall be equal to or higher than the cutoff. Selected candidates further are called for CCMT Counselling. NIT Trichy offers a two-year MSc course across four specialisations. This course is taught through the Department of Computer Applications, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. To join a three-year MCA course at NIT Trichy, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements of the course as stated on the official website of NIT. To pursue this full-time PG-level course at NIT Trichy, candidates are required to pass graduation with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics as one of the subjects. For 2022, cut off was 80 for General category candidates in CAT percentile Cutoff (General-All India). The cutoff for the past two years 2021 and 2020 remained same, i.e., 80. 

NIT Trichy offers MBA course across seven specialisations. These are Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance, Production and Operations, Business Analytics, Information systems and IT Consulting and General Management. All the MBA courses are offered in full-time mode through DOMS NIT Trichy. The admission process for all MBA specialisations are same. Candidates willing for admission to MBA at NIT Trichy must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria and qualify for CAT entrance exam.

Admissions to NIT (National Institute of Technology), Trichy is Entrance Based for almost all of the courses. The college accepts different exam scores for different levels of courses. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains is necessary for admissions to the undergraduate engineering programs, B.Tech which offers 8 courses and B.Arch which offers 1 course. Admissions are based on the marks scored in class 12^th or equivalent as well as the JEE (Main) examination.
