Talking about the 2023 last-round cutoff, the closing rank for M.Tech in CSE was 480 at IIIT Bangalore. For NIT Trichy, the last round closing score was 637 for the same course and specialisation. Analysing the last round cutoff data, IIIT Bangalore was more competitive for M.Tech in the CSE course than NIT Trichy.

The aspirants with a BE/BTech degree with at least 60% aggregate can apply for M.Tech at NIT Trichy. As per the NIRF 2024 ranking under the “Engineering” category, IIIT Delhi ranks 85 among the top Engineering institutes of the country. The total fee for MTech in IIIT Delhi ranges between INR 3.7 lakh and INR 6 lakh. NIT Trichy MTech fee is INR 1.4 lakh. As per placement statistics, the median package is recorded to be INR 18.17 LPA for IIITD and INR 7 LPA for NIT Trichy. Hence, it can be concluded that the fee is higher at IIITD. It must be noted that the fee given for both institutes is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to changes and hence, is indicative. But, this institute also has got a good ranking as per a recognised ranking body. Thus, if given a choice, IIIT Delhi is a better option than NIT Trichy.

The total tuition fee for M.Tech at NIT Trichy ranges between INR 1.4 Lacs - INR 3.6 lakh. Further, the course fee includes other components such as an annual examination fee, one-time admission fee, alumni fee, etc. as well. Selected candidates have to pay some amount of fees at the time of admission to confirm their seats. It must be noted further that the given fee is as per unofficial sources.

No, there is not provision of direct admission to M.Tech at NIT Trichy. Aspirants must appear and qualify for GATE exam with a valid score. Other than this, candidates must pass graduation with minimum 60% aggregate in order to apply for this course. The final seat allocation is done through CCMT Counselling process.
