NIT Trichy offers a two-year MSc course across four specialisations. This course is taught through the Department of Computer Applications, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. NIT Trichy accepts admission to MSc through the IIT JAM entrance exam, which is conducted by IITs for selection to MSc courses. The admission process gets completed with the CCMN Counselling round. Candidates must keep a close eye on the CCMN Counselling and prepare accordingly.

In order to get admission to MCA course at NIT Trichy, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Candidates are required to secure minimum of 60% aggregate in a three-year graduation course. Admission to MCA at NIT Trichy is entirely entrance-based. Eligible candidtaes are required to appear for NIMCET entrance exam, which is a common entrance exam for MCA in all the NITS. It'smandatory for every aspirant to qualify the exam with a valid rank. NIT Trrichy admission process begin with the JEE Main registration. The admission process 2023 via JEE Main has been completed, whereas the regisrations for the year 2024 will start in the month of Decemeber. For admission in a BTech course at NITT, candidates shall have a valid score of JEE Main. Candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff marks further becomes eligible for participation in the JoSAA counselling round. If the seats are left vacant after this round, then those are filled through the CSAB counselling. Candidates who pass Class 12 in Science stream wtih PCM/ PBM subjects are eligible to apply for this course. 

Admission to an MBA programme at NIT Trichy is done on the basis of merit in the CAT exam. In order to get admission to this course, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements as per the CAT exam and appear for the entrance exam. No, NIT Trichy does not provide direct admission for BTech. NIT Trichy BTech admission is entrance-based. The institute accepts admission to the BTech course through a valid score of JEE Main. Every aspirant needs to qualify for the exam in order to get admission. Selected candidates further need to take part in JoSAA counselling as well. There is no other procedure for admission.

Candidates willing for admission to MSc at NIT Trichy must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for the course in the first place. Students who want to get admission to MSc at NIT Trichy must graduate with a minimum 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA (for SC/ ST/PwD, a minimum 55% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA is required) in the respective subjects. To join a three-year MCA course at NIT Trichy, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements of the course as stated on the official website of NIT. To pursue this full-time PG-level course at NIT Trichy, candidates are required to pass graduation with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics as one of the subjects. Candidates must have obtained minimum 60% aggregate in the final examination of graduation. Candidates who are appearing for the final examinations of graduation are also eligible to apply. 

The aspirants with a BE/BTech degree with at least 60% aggregate can apply for M.Tech at NIT Trichy. For admission to MTech, candidates must have a valid score of GATE, which shall be equal to or higher than the cutoff. Selected candidates further are called for CCMT Counselling. Interested candidates must apply for the GATE exam and counselling within the due date.
