Q:   I got 79 percentile in JEE Mains and 66% in Class 12. Will I get admission to Sastra University, Thanjavur?

A:

Based on the information you've provided, your JEE Mains percentile of 79 is decent and could be a competitive score for admission to Sastra University, Thanjavur. However, your class 12 percentage of 66% might be slightly below the usual cutoff for some courses at the university. To increase your chances of admission, I recommend checking Sastra University's official website or contacting their admission department for the specific cutoff scores and eligibility criteria for the course you are interested in.

Sastra University is known for its competitive admission process, and the cutoff marks can vary each year. It's essential to have a clear understanding of the admission requirements and eligibility criteria to make an informed decision.

In case your JEE Mains percentile meets or exceeds the cutoff set by Sastra University for your desired course, you stand a good chance of getting admission. However, if the cutoff is higher, you may consider other options or explore different courses that align with your JEE Mains score and class 12 percentage.

Remember, admissions to universities can be competitive, and it's always a good idea to have backup options. There are many other reputable institutions that offer quality education in engineering and other fields. Research thoroughly, consider all available choices, and apply to multiple universities to increase your chances of getting accepted.

I wish you the best of luck with your admission process, and I hope you find the right university and course that aligns with your academic goals and aspirations!"

Good infrastructure and placement opportunities.
Placements: IBM, TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, Wells Fargo, LTI Mindtree, L&T, Tata Exelis, Caterpillar, and many other MNCs and startups visit for placements. The highest placement offer, as far as I know, is between 18,00,000 and 24,00,000, while the minimum package is around 3,50,000 to 4,00,000. A maximum of 90% of students are placed. SASTRA offers the best packages for talent.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and hostels are well-equipped. The hostel fee is reasonable, and safety for girls is a priority. Food may be a challenge for those coming from Andhra Pradesh and other regions, as they provide Tamil Nadu-style food. Medical facilities are available, and sports events are conducted.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly available during classes only. The curriculum is fine, and the semesters are manageable. Continuous Internal Assessments (CIA) are good; the best 2 out of 3 are considered. The pass percentage is 50%. To maintain a good CGPA, it's essential to concentrate more on the first two years. Try to gain above 40 out of 50 in CIA for good internal marks, as internal marks constitute 50% and main exams the other 50%. Take CIA very seriously.
Other: This college is best for girls' safety, with good placement opportunities. The culture is supportive, and they are stricter with girls. Preparing dupattas for every dress is required, and the ID card is very important—like a passport in the USA.

Sastra -Quality of Educational Assurance .
Placements: The percentage of students getting placements is above 60%, and still, the percentage is increasing despite the recession period. The highest packages are ranging from 13 to 24 LPA, and many are in follow-up and in process.
Infrastructure: Our college has a well-designed infrastructure built on 234 acres. Wi-Fi is available anytime in the college for up to one device per student. Labs are very well-designed. The library has almost all kinds of publications and facilities to get a read mode on.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and well-qualified and help us to excel more in our studies. The teaching quality is the best. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. The semester exams are rated and given at a level equal to NIT Trichy standard. The paper will mostly be moderate. More than 80% is the pass percentage.

One of the best college in tamilnadu including good placement, infrastructure etc.
Placements: A student who maintains a CGPA around or above 7 can be placed in good companies. Most recruitments for high salaries are based on practical knowledge and skills. On average, a student with a CGPA above 7.5 can expect a salary of (7-13) LPA, and the highest salary is 33 LPA. Sastra has top recruiters like Google, Microsoft, Wipro, Amazon, IBM, TCS, Zoho, etc. Departments like IT, CSE, ICT have big job opportunities in companies like Google, TCS, Microsoft. More than 60 percent of students get placed in good companies for good packages, mainly in TCS, Wipro, CTS, Infosys.
Infrastructure: One of the best faculty members compared to all other colleges. Each student has their own mentor. The labs are nice, and students have access to free unlimited Wi-Fi provided by Sastra. The library has almost all topic books, and classrooms are pretty decent. Hostel facilities are good, but the food in the mess is below average; you can't expect tasty food. It is a pure veg college, so the food provided in the mess is always veg and not good in taste. There are two big canteens, K.C. and South Canopy; the foods are awesome and mostly all types of veg-food are available. The hospital is on campus, and students can visit the doctor at any time; hospital charges are free for students. All sports are available - football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, and all sports have their own ground and court. The gym has mostly all equipment.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and explain each topic clearly to students, clarifying doubts effectively. Students can understand the subject both theoretically and practically, so they understand the concept instead of memorizing. There are 3 CIA exams for 50 marks each, with the best of 2 exams being considered, and the internal is taken for 50 marks. Semester exams are tough, and the semester exam is for 100 marks. Semester exam marks are divided by 2 and added with internals. The minimum pass mark is 50, which is a D grade.
Other: Mainly two fests are held: Kuruksastra and Colosseum. Kuruksastra is the big fest at Sastra and is held for 3 days, and Colosseum is a sports fest.
