An insight from the inside of VIT.
Placements: I am studying B.Tech Computer Science (first year). Our batch has nearly 4,500 students in computer science alone. My passing out year is 2028. In my college, almost 90% of the students were placed this year. The highest offer was 1 crore per annum, while the average is 10 LPA. The lowest offer was 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Meta. Most of the third-year and some of the second-year students try for internships, and the college provides good opportunities to both groups, not only for internships, but also for placements in their upcoming session. The top roles offered are software development engineer, data analyst, and data scientist.
Infrastructure: The labs are up to industry standards, and the Wi-Fi facilities inside the labs are top-notch. Some labs have old computers, while others have computers with up to 32 GB of RAM. Classrooms are well-equipped with smart boards. The library has the best environment for studying and focusing on daily goals. The hostel facilities are good. Each hostel block has two caterers, and students can choose their caterer each month. Both provide good food with enough nutrients. There are many food stalls here, each providing quality, tasty food. There is a medical center where students can go if they are suffering from any illness, and they will be treated, admitted, or quarantined based on their needs. Our college has two football fields, three volleyball fields, two tennis courts, and one cricket ground for sports. Students can also play chess, carrom, and other indoor games in their free time.
Faculty: Each faculty member here has a doctorate from a reputable university. They teach in a very friendly manner. There are some faculty who don't teach well, but they provide us with sufficient knowledge. The course curriculum for the first year is not up to industry standards, as students are required to study physics and chemistry, but it gets better from the second year, where core subjects are included. The curriculum from the second year on is industry-relevant and on par with industry needs. The exams are easy to moderately difficult, and students need 50% to pass.
Other: Computer science is a blooming field, and choosing this course has never given me any regrets. I have exposure to various domains, such as web development, Android development, full-stack development, and ethical hacking. This course could be further improved by taking students on more industrial visits and having them discover industry needs in their domain. Our college has two main fests, called TechnoVIT, which happens in September, and Vibrance, which happens in March. The exposure on campus is good, and we can connect with people of various cultures. There is a large crowd at VIT. We can take part in any club we like, grow our connections, and indulge in our interests. There are almost 133 clubs at VIT, each with its own unique demeanor. Students can enroll in these and make the most of their time.

Review of VIT - A paradise.
Placements: Placements offered here are very good. There are about 700 super dream offers and 1000 dream offers given to students. The highest salary package offered is 1 crore per annum and the average salary package offered is 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google and Amazon.
Infrastructure: Facilities present in the college are very good. Wi-Fi available is strong. Classrooms are equipped with projectors. Labs are equipped with advanced computers. Hostel is also good with all amenities present. Food is good and rooms are also good.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly skilled and have PhD. They are of good quality. Course curriculum is relevant only after the second year. In the first year, they make one study the basics of all other courses. There are exams every month, which are very hard. Pass percentage is 80%-90%.

A journey of ups and downs of the college life of a student.
Placements: More than 80% students get placed in our department. The highest package offered was 1 Crore for an international company and 59 Lacs was the domestic package. More than 500+ companies visit our college with top companies being Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, Mahindra, etc. I don't remember the exact percentage of students who got internships, but companies do come to recruit the students based on the skillsets.
Infrastructure: Our classrooms are Wi-Fi-enabled and there are less number of modules in our courses. Also the lab is very useful as it helps to get practical exposure which is required for a particular company. Hostel is good and we are having separate beds and fans for each individual. But we all know the quality of food in the mess is not good. Overall, the sports and medical facilities are good.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and they help us in every situation. They make us understand through practical applications so that we can do things in a better way. The course curriculum is relevant to the demands in the companies. There are a lot of exams in our college but the level of exams is on the easy side.
Other: There is a cultural fest called Vibrance which is held in the month of March and a technical fest called TechnoVIT which is held in the month of October every year. Overall, the campus is not that crowded when compared to the Vellore campus.

VIT Chennai: Strong Academics, Great Placements, and Vibrant Campus Life.
Placements: Placement Rate: Generally speaking, VIT (including VIT Chennai) has a good history of placements, with nearly 80–90% of the eligible students getting placed. However, the success ratio on placement may be dependent on the course as well as the individual student. Salary Packages (Highest, Lowest, and Average): Highest Package: The last couple of years, the most lucrative packages, especially international packages, have been above INR 1 crore, mostly advertised by information technology or consultancy companies. Average Package: The average or mean package offered at VIT Chennai usually ranges between INR 6 to 10 lakhs per annum depending upon the course. Lowest Package: Usually, the bottom-most offers are between INR 3 to 4 lakhs per annum. Major Companies Visiting for Recruitment: The major recruitment companies for VIT Chennai comprise Microsoft, Amazon, Paypal, Deloitte, TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro and Accenture, among others. Recently, however, interest from product-based companies and startups has gone up as well. Internships: Percentage of Students Getting Internships: VIT promotes internships as part of the structure of the program; thus, about 70–80% of students get internships in their field, based on the discipline. Companies Offering Internships: As in placement, the companies offering internships are Microsoft, IBM, Cognizant, Intel, Dell, and various startups in India. Top Roles Offered: With respect to computer science and IT-related courses, software developer, data scientist, data analyst, cloud engineer, product manager and system engineer are some of the common roles offered. In core engineering courses (say mechanical, civil, etc.), positions like design engineer, project Engineer and quality analyst are some of the roles provided.
Infrastructure: The campuses and other facilities of VIT Chennai are effectively configured to enhance the overall academic and personal development of the students, especially in the engineering courses. Within the campus, there is high-speed Wi-Fi, which makes access to online facilities free of limitations for all students. Each and every department has its own well-fitted laboratories, which promote practical learning in all fields from information technology to civil and mechanical engineering, among other fields, while modern-day classrooms are furnished with projectors and smart boards in support of efficient teaching practices. The library, well fitted with readers and research, has a wide range of materials, including books, periodicals and online facilities that enhance researchers and students working within the area. In accommodation, VIT Chennai's hostels are recognized for their pleasant residing experience and the basic facilities provided. The rooms are kept to cleanliness standards and common facilities encourage the mingling of students. The mess serves healthy food on a variety of diets and the guests eat and the hygiene of the food has been rated well. With regard to the well-being of the students, the health center addresses minor injuries, offers health education and counseling services and in case of serious health problems, there are hospitals around the corner. The other sports that are present in this university include a gymnasium, basketball courts, and football fields so that students can stay active. The institution also encourages the holding of inter-college tournaments, which helps in building a competitive and team spirit. To summarize, VIT Chennai offers a balanced climate favoring learning and growth, enhancing the employability of the students.
Faculty: In order to foster an optimal environment for the education of engineers, the faculty, curriculum and examination at VIT Chennai have been configured. Generally speaking, faculties of VIT Chennai are well qualified. Most of them possess advanced degrees and some work experience. They are also friendly and helpful; thus, they often invite students to ask and discuss issues. Quality of teaching is assured through interactive classes, practical lessons and constant evaluation of students understanding of complex ideas. Most of the faculty members are involved in research, thus increasing their knowledge base, which they later bring to the classroom in the form of modern practices. The curriculum for engineering courses is both wide and up-to-date with the engineering standards of practice. It forms the basis of the vital internal study but prefers more of field study in the form of projects and attachments. This integration of theory with practical aspects, on the other hand, ensures that students are industry-ready with the specific skills and know-how required in various technical jobs. In addition, there is also an internal review of the content by the curriculum evaluation committee that is composed of some industry practitioners to make sure that the curriculum is up-to-date and responsive to the existing technologies and market. VIT Chennai believes that the semester examination is a test of the knowledge acquired by the student on the course modules offered. Though examinations are difficult, students are expected to be able to learn the concepts at a higher level. The pass percentage is generally around 75-85, meaning most of the students are successful. Such a faculty, such a curriculum, and such an assessment ensure that students are ready for the engineering profession.
Other: VIT Chennai is regarded as one of the institutions with a good campus life and academic programs, especially in engineering. Most people are attracted to this school because of its outstanding ranking, impressive graduate employment statistics, and a wide variety of courses offered, including computer science, electronics, and mechanical engineering, among others. While the theoretical aspects of education are predominant, the emphasis is also on designing applications with the help of qualified personnel and state-of-the-art facilities. All this prepares the students adequately for the market, and with the addition of attachments and projects, learning is more practical. In the course we are glad to mention effects on students, which include innovative and research-based projects, though some students still feel the teaching can be improved even more regarding delegates and this is especially teamwork and speaking, which are around all the workplaces. There is also a possibility of increasing the level of learning across different disciplines.Meanwhile, the students give a big boost to campus life by organizing and participating in an array of events and festivals, including Technozion and Riviera, which in turn promote social interaction among different students. The campus area is very close to the city centre and offers a calm atmosphere ideal for study and learning. Admissions at VIT Chennai is also aided by a number of scholarships that are based on the merits and the financial demands of the students, thus widening the scope of education to many students. There is a strong promotion of sports and other activities over the course, with many clubs dealing with various activities such as robotics and music, sports, and so on, allowing students to have fun in between classes. Therefore, everything is done in VIT Chennai in a way that students get ready for work and, at the same time, enjoy life on campus.

At present, okay with the college; have to see in the future.
Placements: Around 70% of students are placed from B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering. The highest package is around 70 LPA, the lowest package is around 3-4 LPA, with the average package being 9 LPA. The maximum number of eligible candidates get internships. Top roles in MNCs are offered from our course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very decent. Hostel facilities are okay but can be improved according to the fee. The quality of food is good, medical facilities are well organized, and finally, sports and games are encouraged enough. Each and every kind of game is encouraged on the campus.
Faculty: Not all faculties are good; a few of them teach well, but the rest are very bad. I don't think that this type of teaching makes students industry-ready. Semester examinations are difficult enough for a normal student, and the pass percentage will be around 80%, my guess.
Other: I have opted for this course based on my personal interest. I have just started my life here, and it will take some time to get clarity on the course. They should cheer up with more engaging events.
