On Highlights

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

It’s a beautiful college in the North East.
Placements: The placements scenarios at my college is quite decent. The year before the last, one of my seniors got into Amazon and a bunch of others got more than 20 LPA as their CTC. The placements for CSE and ECE branch are almost 100%, and for other branches combined, it is 70-75%. The internship opportunities are quite less here but you can apply individually.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is just ok, it requires a lot of development as it has suffered a lot in the rainy season. Other than that, the college provides each and every thing required by the students in the classrooms as well in the labs. There are medical facilities available in the college.
Faculty: The teachers in my college are just amazing, they are all well qualified and share a great knowledge with the students. The course curriculum is up to date in my knowledge, and if you learn the subjects properly, it’ll definitely make you job ready. There are 8 semester exams held in total.

Finally, it is an average college in India. Except food everything will be fine.
Placements: 100 percent of students were placed in my course. The highest package offered in my course is 47 LPA, and the lowest and minimum packages offered in my course are 8 LPA. Infosys, Google, Microsoft, Apple, TCS, Teach Mahindra, etc. are top companies recruiting companies for my course. All the students get internships in my course.
Infrastructure: There are very average facilities and infrastructure available for our department. We can get free wifi, good labs, ventilator classes, good classrooms, and a and a library in our department. There are many books in our department library. Those books are very useful for our recording department. Hostel facilities are not and not bad. The mess food is average quality. There will be canteen. Average medical facilities: an ambulance will be available for you. We have a very huge playground. We can play many games.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and they are very qualified and knowledgeable also. They can give us the best teaching quality. Our course department faculty are more supportive of us in our department. The semester exam difficulty will be above average. And the pass percent in the semester exam is 40 marks out of 100.
Other: I am interested in this course. And now our department is also very good. We can do excellent labs and projects, and these are the best things about the delay course.

Disappointed with the infrastructure, absence of clubs, fest and facilities being provided.
Placements: At NIT Manipur, almost 70-80% of the students get placed. The highest package in 2023 was 47 LPA which was given Amazon. In 2023, the average package was around 9.5 LPA. Companies like Discover and Edfora gave packages worth 27 LPA. Some mass recruiters like Intellipat, Tata Elxsi, Reliance Jio and L&T ECC also visited the campus recruiting a number of students with an average package of 7 to 8 LPA. The placements ratio is quite good here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not that good. It is below average. The campus is big but has not been utilized properly. Wi-Fi is provided in the hostel 24X7. Talking about the classrooms, it is not that great but still it’s decent. Projectors have been installed in all the classrooms. There is one library in the academics block where around 20-30 students can study at a time. Atmosphere is quite good and there are plenty of books available for our reference. Quality of food is again not that great but decent. Canteens are there in every hostel. For medical services, an ambulance is available for us 24x7. There is one very good playground where we can play all the sports we want. It is quite big and good.
Faculty: All the teachers are very helpful and well qualified. They are always ready to help us and solve our doubts. There are many teachers who have graduated from IITs. Their teaching is quite decent. The syllabus being taught is a little old (that is same in all the colleges). It won't make anyone completely industry ready but it might help a lot in the future. The semester exams are not that difficult. It is on the moderate to difficult side. Almost 80-85% students clear the exams without any backlogs.
Other: If you wish to participate in fests, cultural activities and clubs, this college is not for you. There are no clubs and there is no gym inside the college. Scholarships like NSP (National Scholarship Portals) are being provided by the central government.

Good college to choose but not the only option.
Placements: I was enrolled in the ECE branch; the placements in the branch are not up to the mark if you select core as your major; it's better for you to choose GATE and go for higher studies. The highest package is 47 LPA, and the average package was 9.8 LPA. Amazon, Genpact, and other companies are there.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was not good. There is a lot more to develop. The classrooms are okay but not good to study in the rainy season. Accommodation in a hostel is the best, but the facilities are low but have good security. The quantity of food is good, but the quality should be increased.
Faculty: The teaching faculty was good and was always available to us. The semester exams were not tough but also easy; they were moderate. You need to get at least 40% of the marks in every subject to pass and should be regular in the classes because attendance is also included in your academics.

Nice college for B.Tech.
Placements: I am enrolled in the Computer Science and Engineering branch; the placement record of my branch is the highest, i.e., 100%; the average package is 10 LPA. A good number of students get internships in the 6th semester or in the 7th semester. Last year, the highest package was 47 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is in very bad condition, with a very small number of buildings that are occupied. Also, the water is logged on campus in the rainy seasons. The food quality in the mess is not at all good. There is a Wi-Fi facility in the hostel.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are really good at our college. The curriculum is updated with new technologies. In each semester, there are at least 2 tests, one midterm and one endterm exam for each subject and at least 40 marks to pass out of the total.

Absolutely good for placements but if it's about college life .
Placements: It is an average NIT so, it has an placement. Talking about the percentage of students placed so according to 2023 placement report it has a 75 % Overall placement. Further, if about branch specific so it's 100% for CSE, 85% for ECE, 75% for ee and <60% for other branches. If we look at the average package it was 9 llpa while the highest is 47 LPA by Microsoft.
Infrastructure: The worst thing about this college is lack of infrastructure. They have bare minimum infrastructure required. And trust not going to change in upcoming 5 years. They have temporary structure of tin shades and it cases lot of problems during rainy seasons.
Faculty: It is good and is the positive side of the college which is the reason for it being at 95 th position in NIRF ranking 2023. 65% of the professors are local and they speak Manipur, English and broken Hindi. Anyways language is not going to be barrier.

Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of NIT Manipur?

A:
{Source: B.Tech students & alumni]

NIT Manipur is a premier engineering institute located in Imphal, the capital city of Manipur. It was established in 2010 as one of the 31 NITs (National Institutes of Technology) in India. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs in various fields such as engineering, science, and humanities. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure and dedicated faculty, NIT Manipur provides a conducive learning environment for students to excel in their academic pursuits.

Based on the five reviews provided, here's my analysis of the overall infrastructure of NIT Manipur:

Overall, the infrastructure of NIT Manipur seems to be mixed. Review 1 suggests that the college has good infrastructure and provides all the necessary facilities to the students. Review 2, on the other hand, states that the college building is made of wood and the roof is made of tins, indicating that the infrastructure may not be of high quality. However, Review 3 mentions that the new hostel is in good condition and provides various facilities such as indoor and outdoor games, Wi-Fi and two playgrounds.

Regarding the hostel facilities, Review 1 and Review 3 both suggest that the hostels are well-maintained and provide basic amenities such as beds, tables and chairs. Review 2 states that the hostel is good, but Review 4 mentions that the hostel facilities could be improved, particularly in terms of speed and availability of Wi-Fi.

In terms of food, Review 1 and Review 3 both suggest that the mess food is good, while Review 2 states that the quality of food is average. Review 4 mentions that both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options are available, but the quality of food can vary sometimes.

Finally, regarding the sports and recreational facilities, Review 3 mentions that the college has outdoor game facilities such as cricket, football and basketball, but Review 5 notes that there is no dedicated sports teacher or coach. Additionally, Review 5 states that the classrooms are average and the labs and library are not very spacious.

Based on the reviews, it appears that NIT Manipur has some strengths in terms of infrastructure, such as the new hostel and outdoor game facilities, but also has areas for improvement, such as the quality of Wi-Fi and the availability of sports facilities. Overall, the infrastructure of the college seems to be decent but not exceptional.

Summary:
NIT Manipur has a mix of good and average infrastructure. While some facilities like the new hostel and outdoor game facilities are good, others like the quality of Wi-Fi and the availability of sports facilities need improvement. The mess food is generally good, but can vary sometimes. The classrooms and labs are average and there is no dedicated sports teacher or coach.

Q:   Is B.E. / B.Tech at NIT Manipur a good choice?

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Based on the provided context, I would say that doing B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at NIT Manipur can be a good choice considering its high placement rate. Here's why:

* The placement record for your branch (CSE) is 100%, which means every student gets placed.
* The average package is 10 LPA, which is quite competitive.
* Many top-notch companies like Accenture, Amazon, Flipkart, TCS, Infosys, and others visit the campus for recruitment.
* You'll get internship opportunities in 6th or 7th semesters, giving you practical experience and building your portfolio.
* Faculty members are qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive, making them valuable resources for learning.

However, it's essential to note some drawbacks mentioned in the context, including:

* Poor infrastructure, particularly during rainy seasons when water logging issues arise.
* Limited and outdated facilities, although efforts are being made to improve them.
* Average or subpar living conditions, such as food quality in the mess.

To make the most of your experience at NIT Manipur, focus on developing your technical skills, staying connected with your peers and professors, and leveraging the available resources to build a strong foundation for your future career. Despite the limitations, the institution seems to offer decent education and training opportunities, especially in terms of placement outcomes.
