Dayanand Sagar University, (DSU) Bangalore is a private University that was founded in 2014. The University offers approximately 50 courses starting from pre-university to post-graduation and doctoral programmes in top streams like Engineering, Science, Commerce, Management, Health Sciences, Arts and many more. Dayanand Sagar University odd semester commences in November and the results for the same are declared in February. Soon after the semester exam, a make-up examination is conducted by the University. The even semester exams are conducted in April and the results are declared in July. Post end semester examination make-up examination and fast track semester examinations are conducted.

The University declares the semester results on its official website. Students can check their end semester examination result by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Dayanand Sagar University (dsu.edu.in)

Step 2: On its homepage, click on ‘Examination’

Step 3: Scroll to the ‘Results’ section, click on the desired link

Step 4: Enter your USN/ Roll Number assigned by the University and hit the ‘Submit’ button

Step 5: The semester score along with the result status will get displayed on the screen. You can download the result or take a printout of the same for future references

Dayanand Sagar University Evaluation 2020

The evaluation process of Dayanand Sagar University semester results is done in two parts:

  • Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE): It is conducted by the course coordinator and it consists of tests, assignments, and Alternate Assessment Tools (AAT). Minimum CIE marks should be 40 per cent of the maximum marks. Any student who scores less than 40 per cent will be declared as NSSR (Not Satisfied Sessional Requirement - Weightage: 50 per cent
  • Semester End Exam (SEE): It is conducted at the end of the semester and comprises both theory and practical paper. A student has to acquire a minimum attendance of 85 per cent in each course to be eligible to take up SEE. Any student who fails to do the same is declared as NSAR (Not Satisfied Attendance Requirement) - Weightage: 50 per cent

Grading System:

The overall performance of a student is indicated by two indices: Term Grade Point Average (TGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The evaluation is done on a 10-point scale viz. ‘A+’ to ‘F’, fail:

Dayanand Sagar University Revaluation 2020

For students who are not satisfied with their results of the current semester and want revaluation can fill revaluation form to get their answer book revaluated. In such a case, without considering previous marks, the University checks the copy of the student again. The students need to collect the revaluation form from the examination cell of the University and submit the same along with the prescribed application fee through cash or challan.

Dayanand Sagar University Reappear Exams 2020

Make-up examination: The make-up examination is conducted after SEE of odd and even semesters. A student who has obtained transitional grades due to lack of attendance or other factors are eligible to appear for the make-up examination and can secure letter grades for that particular subject. A student who fails to obtain letter grades is automatically given F grade for the respective subject. The student then needs to appear for ‘Fast track Semester Examination.’

Fast track semester examination: The Fast Track semester is conducted for the students with the following reasons:

  • who have absented themselves from attending CIE or SEE without valid reasons or
  • who have secured Grade ‘F’
  • who have been detained for want of sessional marks (CIE
  • who have been detained for want of attendance (NSAR)
  • who have withdrawn (Grade W) from a course

Such students need to re-register for the subjects and go through CIE and SEE again and obtain a grade equal to or better than E in each case. A student can register for a maximum of 16 credits and not exceeding five subjects for the examination.

Reappear examination: If a student gets Grade ‘F’ even in the fast track examination, then he needs to appear for reappear examination in the subsequent years. The CIE marks obtained by the student in the first attempt will be carry forwarded to the final tabulation of the reappear exam. The form for the same should be collected and submitted back to the University examination cell along with the prescribed application fee paid in challan/ cash.
