JIPMAT 2025 exam pattern is released along with the information brochure of the exam. National Testing Agency (NTA) prescribes the JIPMAT exam pattern. JIPMAT exam is an undergraduate level entrance test conducted for admission to the five-year Integrated Programme in Management offered by IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu. Since the course aims to produce successful managers, the entrance exam is structured to assess the communication skill and analytical ability of the candidates. The JIPMAT exam pattern is similar to the structure of other BBA entrance exams. As per the JIPMAT exam pattern, there are 100 multiple choice questions designed based on the topics as per the JIPMAT syllabus. Candidates need to answer these questions within a duration of 150 minutes. The computer-based test has questions in English medium with four marks for each correct response and one mark deduction for incorrect response. Q:   What is the difficulty level of the JIPMAT exam?

The JIPMAT exam is relatively a new entrance exam for admission to IPM courses. JIPMAT 2023 is the third exam session for IPM admissions based on JIPMAT there have been two editions of the JIPMAT exam so far, in 2021 and 2022 respectively. Based on the past years exam feedback from the test-takers and experts, the difficulty level of the JIPMAT exam can be considered moderate to tough. Compared to other management entrance exams, JIPMAT exam may be considered slightly easier in terms of the overall difficulty level. However, the level of difficulty can vary from year to year. Success in any entrance exam ultimately depends on the candidate's preparation and performance on the exam day.

Q:   What is the exam pattern of NTA JIPMAT?

The National Testing Agency NTA prescribes the JIPMAT exam pattern. JIPMAT is conducted as a computer-based test for admission into IPM courses offered by IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu. The JIPMAT exam pattern comprises questions from three sections, namely: 1. Quantitative Aptitude 2. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning 3. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension As per the test structure of JIPMAT exam, candidates have to answer a total of 100 MCQ-type questions divided into three sections in an equal weightage. However, to round off the 33.33% weightage of each section, NTA has allotted an additional question to VARC section, i.e. 34 questions for VARC and 33 questions each for QA, and DILR. Candidates need to answer all questions in JIPMAT exam within a time duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes in English medium.

Q:   What type of questions appear in the JIPMAT question paper?

A:
NTA designs the JIPMAT exam question paper with objective-type questions. Multiple choice questions, or objective types questions in JIPMAT exam will have a total of four options. Candidates need to mark one correct response out of these four option choices. Choosing the correct answer option will fetch 4 marks, while incorrect option choice will lead to a negative one mark. No subjective questions are included in the JIPMAT exam pattern. Therefore, candidates may event land in a situation when the answer would strike immediately when he/she comes across the correct answer option.

JIPMAT Marking Scheme 2025

NTA will evaluate the performance of the candidates based on the marking scheme mentioned below:

  • For each correct attempt, four marks will be awarded
  • For each incorrect attempt, one mark will be deducted
  • There is no negative marking for unattempted question

JIPMAT 2025 Syllabus

Section A: Quantitative Aptitude

Questions in this section of JIPMAT will be based on understanding and application of various concepts up to class 10 Mathematics.

Section B: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning Data Interpretation

Questions will be based on the interpretation of data presented in the form of tables and pie charts. To test reasoning ability, questions will be asked from visual reasoning, critical reasoning, verbal reasoning, etc.

Section C: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

Questions will be based on English vocabulary and grammar. Reading Comprehension questions will be asked to test the ability to comprehend, interpret and infer from the given passage.
