JIPMAT 2024 Selection Process: IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya have released the JIPMAT selection process for IPM admissions. IPM admission policy for both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya varies based on the shortlisting weightage. However, the phases of the JIPMAT selection process remain the same for both JIPMAT participating institutes. IIM Bodh Gaya shortlists candidates for admission entirely based on JIPMAT scores. While IIM Bodh Gaya shortlists candidates based on the JIPMAT 2024 score, academic profile and gender diversity.

The first phase of the JIPMAT selection criteria requires the aspirants to appear for the exam; candidates are shortlisted for admission based on the JIPMAT cutoff score. Q:   Can board exam scores affect the JIPMAT cutoff?

A: 
Class 12 scores will not affect the JIPMAT cutoff scores. However, the final admission criteria may include the Class 10 and Class 12 scores to select candidates. JIPMAT participating Iims release separate admission policy every year. In the past admission session, both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya have considered the Class 10 and Class 12 level scores while selecting candidates for admission. However, as per the IIM Jammu IPM admission policy, no weightage has been provided to the board exam scores. IIM BG is yet to release the detailed admission policy for IPM courses. The admission policy may or may not include the prior academic record.

Q:   Will there be any Personal Interview round after shortlisting based on JIPMAT scores?

A: 

No. There is no personal interview round for admissions through JIPMAT.

IIM Jammu or IIM Bodh Gaya does not conduct any Personal Interview rounds for IPM admission. The admission policy for both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya varies from year to year. Participating Iims have not conducted any PI What or GD rounds after shortlisting based on JIPMAT scores.

As per the JIPMAT admission policies, the selection of candidates for IPM courses will be based on the JIPMAT scores. IIM Jammu is providing an additional 5 per cent to female candidates. A merit list will be prepared for the selected candidates based on JIPMAT score and gender.

Q:   Is the JIPMAT cutoff the only criteria for admission?

A: 
JIPMAT cutoffs are only responsible to shortlist candidates for admission. Shortlisted candidates have to pay EOI fees to express their interest for the available seats. All candidates who pay the EOI fees are considered for the selection process. The IPM selection process at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya may comprise the following parameters as per the revised admission policy: - Class 10 marks - Class 12 marks - JIPMAT scores - Candidate's gender Female candidates have an additional weightage while preparing the list of selected candidates. Both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya have a separate admission policy.

Q:   Are there any sectional cutoffs in JIPMAT based admissions?

A: 
JIPMAT participating Iims will release the sectional cutoff scores to shortlist candidates for further admission process. The final admission criteria does not have a weightage for the sectional cutoff. Both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya provide a weightage to the overall JIPMAT score, academic performance and gender of the candidate who pays the EOI fees. Those who do not meet the JIPMAT sectional cutoff scores are marked ineligible for payment of the EOI fees. Further, such candidates are not considered for evaluation under the final admission criteria.

JIPMAT Selection Process 2024: Highlights

JIPMAT (Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test) is conducted for IPM admission into IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. IPM admission at the JIPMAT colleges requires the shortlisting of candidates based on the entrance exam and other parameters. IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu follow a predefined admission process and do not involve centralised JIPMAT counselling.

JIPMAT Selection Process 2024: Phases

IIM BG and IIM J have similar selection criteria. The phases of JIPMAT 2024 selection are mentioned below:

Appearing for JIPMAT 2024

The first phase of IPM admissions in IIM-J and IIM-BG requires the candidates to appear for the JIPMAT exam. JIPMAT 2024 is conducted online by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam is conducted in a single shift. Candidates can choose to participate in the admission process of any of the JIPMAT participating institutes after taking the exam.

JIPMAT Selection Process for IIM Bodh Gaya

Identical to IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya also shortlisted the candidates based on scores, as per JIPMAT result, and academic profile in the previous session. However, from IPM 2024-27 batch, IIM Bodh Gaya is shortlisting candidates by providing 100 per cent weightage to JIPMAT scores. The institute will be following the standard reservation policy followed across other courses.

JIPMAT Selection Criteria 2024: Expression of Interest

After checking the JIPMAT scores at the official exam website (jipmat.nta.ac.in), candidates need to register for the Expression of Interest (EoI). Candidates must register for EoI to express their interest in the IPM course. Only the candidates who register for EoI are considered for JIPMAT merit list preparation.

JIPMAT 2024 Selection Process: Acceptance of Offer

IIM BG releases cutoff scores along with the confirmed list, while IIM J releases a merit list comprising the application numbers of the selected candidates. Candidates eligible as per the JIPMAT cutoff for IIM BG or the candidates who get their application numbers included in the JIPMAT merit list for IIM J need to accept the offer. Selected candidates need to pay INR 50,000 as the offer acceptance fee. The offer acceptance fee is adjusted towards the first-semester fee.

JIPMAT Merit List 2024

JIPMAT participating institutes release a merit list stating the shortlisted candidates for IPM admission. Candidates are considered for merit list preparation based on their expression of interest and selection factors, including JIPMAT scores, academic profile, and gender. IIM Jammu provides an additional 10 per cent weightage to female candidates.

On the contrary, IIM Bodh Gaya reserved 20 seats out of a total of 120 seats for the female candidates. JIPMAT merit list only depicts the shortlisted candidates, and such candidates need to accept the offer to be considered for further admission.

JIPMAT 2024 Selection: Admission Withdrawal After Offer Acceptance

Candidates who have paid the offer acceptance fee towards the admission offer issued by IIM BG or IIM J and wish for admission withdrawal will get a refund. IIM J or IIM BG will issue the refunds after deducting INR 1,000 as the processing fee. However, the refund will be applicable until a specified date. Candidates who apply for withdrawal after the pre-defined date by the institute will get their seat acceptance fee forfeited.
