    Q:   What is the cut off for CIT Coimbatore for BTech in CSE?

    A: 

    Coimbatore Institute of Technology accepts TNEA score, followed by TNEA Counselling for admission to the BTech course. CIT Coimbatore cutoff 2023 was concluded after Round 1 of the Seat Allocation Process. As per CIT Coimbatore cutoff 2023, the Round 1 closing rank was 1343 for BTech in Computer Science and Technology for the General category student. In 2022, the last round closing rank stood at 1288 for BTech CSE programme.

For BTech at CIT Coimbatore, TNEA cutoff 2023 ranged between 1764 and 22689, so yes candidates with a rank of 2500 can definetly get into CIT Coimbatore. However, the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in TNEA, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

    Learning phase of the life.
    Placements: The highest package was 52 LPA and was offered by Deshaw to 8 of my collegemates, and 2 of them got placed in the 5th semester itself and got a summer internship. The package was 3 lakhs for two months and then they automatically converted to FTE. The minimum package was around 1.5-4 lpa and the median package is around 5-6 lpa.
    Infrastructure: 4-5 specific labs are available for every department, which is provided with every piece of equipment that is needed for potential engineers but the infrastructure is old and outdated as the college was built in 1950s. The college recently started the renovating process, which is going on.
    Faculty: The teachers were very helpful, qualified and very knowledgeable, and their teaching quality was very high. The course is very relevant to the academic course as well as the placements. The semester exams, which are conducted by the college, are median, as the questions were set by internal faculties and the pass percentage is 50%.

    A review for the freshers of CIT.
    Placements: As of now, 10 percent of students are placed in my department with different packages, companies, and countries. The average package is 5 LPA, the highest is 13 LPA, and the lowest is 2.45 LPA. Toshiba and Infosys are some top recruiters. Alongside placements, CIT emphasizes internships as a crucial part of the curriculum. These internships provide practical experience, enhance employability, and often lead to job offers.
    Infrastructure: CIT features well-designed, spacious classrooms equipped with modern teaching aids such as projectors and smart boards, facilitating an interactive learning experience. The college provides state-of-the-art laboratories for various engineering disciplines. These labs are equipped with advanced instruments and technology, supporting hands-on learning and research activities.
    Faculty: The faculty at Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) is highly qualified, with each member holding a doctorate in their respective fields.     A good place to gain knowledge and placements but has bad infrastructure.
    Placements: About 80% of the students got placed in reputed companies, and the placement drive started in the 7th semester and ended in the 8th semester. The highest package was 56 lpa and the median package ranges around 5-6 Lpa. Companies like L&T, Schneider Electric, Soliton, Tata Elxsi, and TVS offered good packages.
    Infrastructure: 4-5 specific labs are available for every department, which is provided with every lab equipment that is needed for a potential engineering but the infrastructure is old and the college has started the reconstruction of new buildings. The hostel and the food provided are below average.
    Faculty: The teachers are highly knowledgeable with various specialization and also approachable and loyal. They were always ready to help us if approached. The course curriculum is ready-made for placements; they have added materials which will be useful in preparation of placements. The semester exams are usually easy, and the average CPGA lies around 8.

    Good college with excellent placement records.
    Placements: Our batch is 2020-2024 and I belong to CSE Department. The percentage of students placed are around 60–70%. The highest package was 52 Lacs per annum and the lowest was 2–3 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies is D. E. Shaw, offering 52 Lacs per annum. Around 50% of students got internship by D. E. Shaw, MBRDI, Root quotient, etc. The roles offered vary. But some of them are developers by SDET.
    Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good. Computer labs have Wi-Fi facilities. The classrooms have smart boards, etc. The hostel's quality was mediocre. The food is like all other hostel food. We can't expect food to be great in hostel. We have a separate canteen where we have to pay eat.
    Faculty: The curriculum was good. The teachers are helpful and qualified enough. The course syllabus is relevant as knowledge; as I am from CSE, we had subjects like data structures, database management systems, machine learning, etc. The semester exams are not that tough. I would say. You would be able to attempt all the questions if you referred to the question papers from last year.
    Other: I chose CSE because I am interested in computer science. I think they can keep the course syllabus even more practical. Speaking about events, CIT has a lot of events, and there are around 30 clubs. There are scholarships available too, particularly for students.

    Absolutely satisfied because of faculty, good placements, quality of studies, etc.
    Placements: My other department seniors have been placed with a good package. The highest package is 62 LPA. The core based companies are recruiting more. Following are the top recruiting companies: DeeShaw, wipro, HCS, Effitrac, etc. The institution provide training for placements from 1st year onwards. So, students need not worry about the placements. They can be fearlfree.
    Infrastructure: Though the infrastructure is looks old, the quality is good. Comapred to other colleges, hostel food is very excellent in our college. The food menu will changed in a routine manner. The internet will be good through ethernet. Library has Wi-Fi facility. The labs are also of good quality in a way that the students find comfortable to do their work there.
    Faculty: The faculty members are very good. They teach us in an understandable way. Very friendly. Even the HOD (Head of the department) is also very jovial to students. Our department provides insights to us by conducting various techtalks, meets, etc. Through these activities, we gain the knowledge on industry projects. The semester exams are a little tough that we need to prepare the syllabus from various books. Our department has a pass percentage of 90%. .
    Other: This is an emerging field and I found that I am very much into teach industry and so I opted for this course. The events, fests, connectivity are the best. The time will going fast when it comes to culturals. We can enjoy it very much.

    A place where you can sculpt yourself.
    Placements: 86% of students got placed in my Electrical & Electronics Engineering department, with nearly 99 students securing jobs. The highest package offered was 20 LPA, the lowest was 3.3 LPA, and the average was 6 LPA. Recruiters included Larsen & Toubro, Bosch, Schneider, TCS, Lucas TVS, Zoho, and HPE, offering roles such as GET, Software Developer, and System Engineer.
    Infrastructure: The lab is well-equipped with all necessary equipment. Smart classrooms provide an effective learning environment. The library is stocked with a variety of books, both core and non-core. Hostel infrastructure can be improved; however, the food is satisfactory. There are three dispensaries for medical support, and sports facilities are good.
    Faculty: CIT has good teachers with knowledge who cover the entire syllabus and encourage us to take seminars. The course curriculum helps students be ready for both core and non-core aspects. Labs contribute to a better understanding of the subjects. Exams are moderate.
