Gurucharan College, Silchar Review.

Placements: I was in the batch 2021-24, and the number of students in my batch was around 50. The department was good, with the best faculty members in town. Though there are no direct recruitments or anything, the teachers provide the best they can to help the students get a job. My course was Zoology, and it has a wide scope in the Biology and Life Sciences field.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is a little old, but constant improvements are going on. New classes and labs are being built, which I hope will help the new students. There is Wi-Fi, but the password is not known. The library and laboratory facilities are good, though improvements can be made. The canteen is good, with food facilities at an affordable price.

Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified, really good, and experienced. They provide good help and quality education. The new teachers are also good and helpful. Overall, the teaching quality is good. The courses are relevant, though some improvements can be made. The semester exams are moderate, with a decent passing percentage.

Other: I chose this college because it was the best in the district with the course I needed. It would be better if the infrastructure were developed a little more and more placement courses were added, which would provide value to the students. As for the fests, they are okay and good with extracurricular activities like sports. Inter-college tournaments are held sometimes, giving students a good chance to show their talent.

Good infrastructure, average placement, less fees and very good teachers.

Placements: The highest package ranges from 4 to 5 lacs per year and the lowest ranges from 1 to 2 lacs per year. It is different for different courses. From the 5th semester on, we get the chance to get placements at Deutsche Bank, HDFC and other local companies. We have to maintain 75% attendance.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good each classroom in our college is huge. Our Chemistry honors room has an installed smart board and AC. And there are also well-developed labs for students to practice their knowledge. A library for every students with all types of knowledgeable books and personal space to read.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and well qualified. They teach everything precisely, all those we should learn and also where to use them. The exams are compatible and students have to be attentive in class to get well prepared for them. The pass percentage is around 40 to 50 percent, which can be different for other subjects.

Other: In my course, B.Sc. Chemistry, I can practice my knowledge practically in labs and more privilege is given to this degree. One thing I want to improve is the exam system. They conduct exams on very short notice and at any time. There are many events, fests and extracurricular activities like sports day, Saraswati Puja, freshers, farewell and many others.

Good college in silchar with good faculty .

Placements: The college does? T have a placement cell and does? T offer any placement on campus but students get placement sometimes from outsourcing companies the college is affiliated under Assam University which has a placement cell where companies come and the students of the college can also participate .

Infrastructure: The college is equipped with modern labs and classrooms and libraries and few of them are even air conditioned but lacks well-equipped hostel facilities It has a hostel but it is not worth staying with not proper sports and games and medical facilities .

Faculty: The teachers of the college are the best thing about the college and one can definitely say that the faculty is one of the best in the town The course curriculum is diverse and in depth with the latest study patterns and it makes a student industry ready The semester exams are moderate tough with a 70%+ pass percentage .

Other: I chose mathematics honours and the best thing about my course is the in-depth knowledge of mathematics that I received from my teachers The only thing that I want them to improve is more of practical classes Our college hosts yearly fest and events with various extracurricular activities including cooking competitions and dance and sports events.

It is infact a good college, if you want to have fun .

Placements: I was in B.Sc. Physics with honors, so there was not any placement for our course. At least know that it is not a good college if you are seeking placement for a job; its placement is relatively zero. I would recommend you apply to other colleges.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty average and all the teachers are pretty good. At least they try to teach in my faculty. There is a lab for physics, where they taught us workshop skills and our room has pretty average whiteboards that the teacher explains on them. The canteen is pretty decent too. You can get burgers, sandwiches, pulao and drinks too.

Faculty: The teachers were helpful; they were the best in our faculty; they were knowledgeable; in fact, in our college, there were IIT-passed-out teachers. The teachers in our faculty were pretty helpful in getting the students industry ready and the semesters were pretty difficult to pass. To be honest, yes, you can accept that it is physics honors, so yes, it is worth it and my classmates were all good students; they all passed with good grades.

Other: So I chose this course because I was good at physics. The thing about my course was that the teachers were helpful. I would say if they could get some placements, that would be great and the fest, campus, crowd, and events were the best in town at this college. This college is well known for this, so if you want fun, definitely go for it.

Dissatisfied with the infrastructure of the course but with the best faculty members.

Placements: This is not yet confirmed as I am still studying the course. The internship scheme is very good as of the companies I am not yet sure because I have not assigned for the internships yet. The top roles offered in my course is a biotechnologist. I hope this is helpful.

Infrastructure: The classrooms are small and compact and the department is facing a lot of leakage issues. And ventilation issues are also faced by all the students. All over for the course I am doing here it's department is very small and compact and also very suffocating.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and friendly. They make us understand all our queries. The course I opted for is very helpful for all the Science students for the industry. The semester exam are obviously taught in the class and if studied properly than it will be easy to pass the exam .
