Review of B.Sc. geology honors course at Hansraj College, University of Delhi.
Placements: In the B.Sc. graduation level, placement is very low or nil, but there are many opportunities after doing the M.Sc. in India or abroad. Top companies after M.Sc. placement after the GATE exam are ONGC, Indian Oil, and other state mining companies through the UPSC geologist exam.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great; labs are good and have sufficient equipment and machines that are accessible to students for their research. The hostel is also at Hansraj College and is affordable in terms of the accommodation available in the city. Hansraj is the only college on the north campus that offers this course.
Faculty: Teachers are good, have great experience in the field of their studies and have a good position in the market and industry. This course includes enough practical exposure that is required in the field of geology. Field trips are also organized for better exposure.
Other: B.Sc. is a very underrated course at Delhi University, but it has a great career opportunity.

Overall, our college is very nice.
Placements: Our college conducts placement drives annually. An internship fair was organised in which reputed MNCs and government-run companies visited our campus for placements. They were so many opportunities for students if they put in some effort on their own. The overall placements were good.
Infrastructure: In our college, classrooms were nice and well equipped with facilities for students. The infrastructure of our college provided academics, ground, hostels, canteen, gym, library, auditorium, and shooting range. There was a medical room, a common room for girls and boys, an indoor badminton court, and a TT room.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college were good enough but not up to the mark. They were well qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was good as practicals were conducted regularly every week. There were field trips for the practical knowledge of the course. There were different activities being organised from time to time.
Other: There were so many courses offered in our college. All were good and had opportunities in the future. Fests were organised annually and departmental fests were also conducted. The campus crowd was very nice. It was a very nice atmosphere for the youth. It gave me a very happy life on campus.

Faculty: The professors of Geology department are highly qualified and there are among the best geologist in India. The teaching quality is absolutely fine. Semester exam are moderate to difficult in level and most the students got passed in the exam. The minimum percentage for passing is 30%. .
Other: This choose this course because I love to study about the earth and I like to do jobs in petroleum companies. Events and campus crowd is perfect.

It provides excellent teachers.
Placements: Our Geology wants technical course but even though from our batch many were placed, and that in no gap year. Many have done internships also. The value esteem our college was extra worthy and that made extra special, and I was excited. Many reputed companies do come to our college for recruitments.
Infrastructure: The hostel was for boys only. The infrastructure was good and spacious. It provides friendly campus in that area, and I feel excited, the hostel menu, facilities were worth mentioning. It provides canteen, cafeteria nearby, and library was vast.
Faculty: Teachers were qualified and highly talented. Their method of teaching was technically good. The course curriculum was updated. Our subject was Geology and worth mentioning was the field trip. Academically college and department helped a lot in those areas.
Other: Geology is nature. Our scientific instinct of how things were made, our temper quench would be done. College day, clubs day, exhibitions, fests were excellent. It conducts many extracurricular activities which were good. It provides a big ground to play cricket and basketball.

Not good placements, but best for research.
Placements: The availability of placement opportunities in B.Sc. (hons) geology is limited due to the requirement of a Masters degree for positions in various private companies involved in mining, oil refining, and construction. Consequently, the likelihood of securing placements is reduced..
Infrastructure: Geology hons classes are conducted in both the college and the department, boasting excellent infrastructure and a wide range of facilities. The canteen and mess at the college offer food of exceptional quality, surpassing expectations. Additionally, the expansive grounds cater to various sports preferences, excluding swimming.
Faculty: The teachers are extremely supportive, highly skilled, and possess a very amiable demeanor. Each of them excels in their respective fields. The curriculum has been revised in accordance with the NEP 2020, incorporating courses such as SEC, VAC, and AEC. The semester exams are not excessively challenging, and achieving a CGPA of 4 is attainable.
