Q:   Is BSc and BSc (Hons) admission at DU (Hindu College) entrance based?

A:

Hindu College admission to all the programmes is entrance-based. While the college accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its UG courses, such as BA, BSc and BCom, admission to all the postgraduate programmes is based on the scores obtained by students in the CUET- PG exam (starting admission 2023). The institute along with DU started accepting CUET UG from 2022 onward and the CUET PG from the 2023 session onward. Before this, admission to UG was subject to merit scores obtained by the students in Class 12 and PG admission was mostly subject to DUET exam previously conducted by DU. However, the university still accepts ECA quota admissions.

My College Review: THE MOST EXCITING EXPERIENCE.
Placements: There are total 92 students in my department. The average package offered in my course is 7 to 8 Lacs. Right now I am in first year and sorry I don't have much knowledge about these companies and internships, but I probably know the student percent that got internship i.e., 60%.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my course as well as my college is fantastic. The classes have air conditioning and Wi-Fi facility. All Science departments have their own lab. There are 2 libraries in my college. I don't live in college hostel, but I have heard that the food is of good quality. College consists of a girls' common room, sports, and games like basketball, football, volleyball, cricket, etc.
Faculty: The faculty members here are well-qualified, helpful, and teach very well. Yes, this course is relevant, it does make the student industry-ready as the college has its own research centre. Last month there was a green hydrogen programme for us, and we visited the IOCL industry in Faridabad. The semester exams are easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level.
Other: I chose this course because I love studying Chemistry. The best thing I like about my course is my lab. I wish the classes should be better as only in my department there are no AC in the classes. The biggest fest in my college is Mecca, which is done every year in the month of February. Other festival events like Diwali Mela, Dandiya night, etc., are also celebrated. My college also provides scholarships to meritorious students, like Premvati Raghubir Singh Scholarships, RB Ram Krishna Das scholarship, etc.

Best 3 years of my life were in this college.
Placements: Hindu is known to provide better placement opportunities for B.Com. and B.Sc. state courses. My course was Chemistry so not many companies offer jobs to B.Sc. Chemistry students. But if one wants to sit for placement, they can with a good CV. Some of my seniors got placed in very good companies with chemistry as their subject.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was very good. All the labs and classrooms are well maintained. The library is easily accessible and enough space is there Also, the library is being constructed of 4 floors. Wi-Fi facility is also available for the students. The biggest playground of du is in Hindu and many sports facilities are provided like cricket, football, basketball, etc. Right now only girls hostel are there and boys hostel construction is to be started. Girls' hostel is great but one disadvantage is that it is very expensive. Girls' hostel is newly built and very well maintained. AC rooms are there and mess food is also great.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. Yes, the college curriculum is relevant. All the teachers are PhDs and are very serious about the coursework and lab. They do take assignment tests and presentations. Semester exams are moderate and any student can get good grades even by reading and practicing previous year questions.
Other: I choose chemistry because its research is interdisciplinary and has a wide scope. You can get jobs in industries like ONGC and DRDO and can be an administrative post like a patent officer. Hindu gives best college life experience. Many societies are there; the best crowd of du is in Hindu; you can do whatever you want, like ECA and many scholarships are provided by the college, like the Raj Bhargava scholarship.

Happy with both placements and infrastructure.
Placements: The placement facility for my course is good but not sufficient, as we had average placement opportunities with a low percentage of students. We have to go to the company ourselves, approaching for jobs in internships. Most students do not get placements in their core subjects.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of a college is very good; we could have an auditorium-free, Wi-Fi-free, big ground, sports room facilities, library facilities, medical room facilities, etc. The cafeteria is also there and the food is very good. Hostel facilities are present and there is a market nearby.
Faculty: Teachers are very intelligent and knowledgeable; they enlighten us with their knowledge and help us with online and offline material exams. Regularly held tests are weakly conducted by the teachers. We have the facilities to conduct experiments related to course .
Other: Various fests and events held on the college campus make it so easy to make good connections with students and societies are active in extracurricular activities.

Review of Hindu College, University of Delhi.
Placements: The average package offered by the college is about 6LPA. Companies like Unacademy and Physics Wallah offer internships to students, generally from the commerce department. The percentage of students getting internships is about 50%. As such, my course doesn't offer a lot of internships.
Infrastructure: There is free internet available in the college. The buildings are well-maintained and furnished. There are smart classes and AC in specific classes. The faculty is reputed and dedicated towards the lectures. The food in the hostel also matches the expectations.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. They are friendly and try their best to understand one's mindset. The semester exams also have a good level of difficulty. The pass percentage is 40%. There are both theory and practical exams in maximum courses.
Other: I choose the course because of my keen interest in Chemistry, specifically organic Chemistry.

Really good infrastructure, absolutely satisfied, good placements, great faculty.
Placements: The placement and internships offered are quite good and collaboration with international companies like Deloitte, HDFC, Jaypee, Maruti. The companies offer great opportunities for the students in fields like perfumery, green hydrogen, polymer Chemistry etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities available are great including the infrastructure of the building. The libraries are available for the students with all the best books and journals required for students. The lab facilities are also very good with all the instruments required. The classrooms are quite good and spacious. The hostel is available for only girls and that too very limited seats.
Faculty: The faculty members are very approachable and have friendly behaviour towards students. The faculty's expertise and way of teaching the students is worth mentioning. The exams are set by university and are suitable for all kinds of students. It's quite easy to get the pass percentage besides co-curricular activities.
Other: The campus life is really good. The exposure and experience that the students have is great. There are fests, events, and seminars organized by different departments that are inclusive to all other department students.
