Hans Raj College admission to all the programmes is entrance-based. While the college accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses, such as BA, BA (Hons), BSc, BSc (Hons) and BCom, BCom (Hons), admission to all the postgraduate programmes is based on the scores obtained by students in the CUET-PG exam (starting admission 2023). The institute along with DU started accepting CUET UG from 2022 onward and the CUET PG from the 2023 session onward. Before this, admission to UG was subject to merit scores obtained by the students in Class 12 and PG admission was mostly subject to DUET exam previously conducted by DU. However, the university still accepts ECA quota admissions.

Register and Apply
Interested candidates have to register online with required information. Non-refundable online registration fee is a mandate without which candidate’s application would not be considered for further processing. Candidate has to select preferred course at the time of registration, there is no limit on the maximum number of courses in which the candidate can apply and there is no additional fee for applying in multiple courses. Hansraj college is the best college for studying.

Placements: In our course, the placement opportunities are very limited. If you want to get placed, you have to do a Masters in your own respective subject from IIT or any other good institute. In my course, approximately 6-7 percent of students are placed and the average package is 6-7 lacs, and the highest package was 15 lacs in 2022. About 30–40 percent of students got internships in 2022. Talking about my class, internships are allowed in the second year. The top role in our course is teacher.

Infrastructure: The college classrooms are well maintained, fully air-conditioned, have a smart board and have many other amenities. Talking about hostels, the boys and girls hostels are present, which have things like Wi-Fi, AC, geysers, etc. The food provided in the college hostel mess is very tasty and there is routine in the food making, like samosas for breakfast on Monday, etc. The college has all sports equipment and provides opportunities to do well in that.

Faculty: Yes, the teachers were very helpful and the teaching method is also very good; they make the topic very easy and understandable. All the teachers are Ph.D. holders in their respective subject. Like we have already said, our course is not for the industry. If you have an interest in physics, then go for it, and after your Masters, you will get a good package.

Other: I chose this course because have a great interest in the field of Physics and would like to know more about the subject. In our course, the thing that can be improved is introducing some subjects that help in making money after a degree. For the past 3–4 years, there has been no fest in our college but there has been a fresher party organized and a Diwali Mela organized by the college. The scholarship is also provided to students who are economically backward; some scholarships are Dell, Aspire Scholarships, and Hansraj Merit Scholarships.

I am totally satisfied with this college.

Placements: Students who score more than 95% have the highest probability of getting admission. It does not provide any packages for B.Sc. Physics. For placement, we have to complete the Masters. But it provides a great environment for study and other activities. It's really a great place for graduation.

Infrastructure: Every class and lab are very well established. In every class, we have a projector, and labs provide very good apparatus. Labs are large enough to perform all experiments. The library is a really peaceful place, and every book is available. Wi-Fi is also available in the library.

Faculty: All the teachers are very helpful and well qualified. Their way of teaching is outstanding. Semester exams are not that much stuff. Passing criteria depend on CGPA, not percentage. All students who score more than 6 CGPAs are marked as passing. This course is very helpful for those who want to become scientists.

Other: This course imparts knowledge of real-life facts. So it's a very interesting course and will provide us with many opportunities for the future. We can even apply for ISR after this course. The campus is very clean, and it provides a very good and healthy environment for studying.

Bad Placements in 2021, Good Infrastructure and Facilities

Placements: Around 75% of students were placed, with the highest package reaching 35 LPA and the lowest at 8 LPA. Top recruiters included ISRO and DRDO. About 65% of students secured internships. The top roles offered were physicist and astrophysicist.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure were good. The Wi-Fi was fast, labs were clean, and classrooms were spacious. The library was a peaceful place to study. The food was okay, though sometimes cold, but the canteen was clean. I made some friends there, and the medical facilities were reliable.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality was also great, and the course was relevant, covering everything needed. However, the semester exams were very difficult, and only about 65% of the students managed to pass and get their degree.

Other: I love science and physics, but a little more effort from the teachers would be appreciated. The events were just fine.

In short, I want to say this is the best college for an overall development of students.

Placements: In our course, there is no option for placements. In my course, people get placed after doing their M.Sc. at IIT. But the students who belong to economics and commerce get placement here. The average package costs approximately INR 1400000. Approximately 60% of students received internships from well-known companies such as Google, Microsoft, and others.

Infrastructure: Physics department classes are excellent. In our fully air-conditioned classroom, we have a smart board. Our library is so good that it is totally based on a digital system. You can borrow any book from the library with the help of your college ID card. Wi-Fi quality is very poor. Our hostel are best. The availability of food is good. All sports are available in our college; we even have an indoor court for badminton and tennis, but there is no swimming pool.

Faculty: Teaching quality of teachers were good. The teachers of Hansraj are very laborious. They have a very helpful nature. Teachers have qualified degrees from different famous universities. Yes, in this course, the curriculum was relevant. Yes, it makes the students in the industry who have an interest in physics want to go into research, etc. Students have different career options after doing this course. You can teach in colleges and schools; you can go to NASA, ISRO, and many other research centres, etc. The semester exam was not difficult; in fact, it was quite simple. The pass percentage was 40% in DU.

Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in physics. The best thing about this course is that it provides you with new ideas about physics. Our labs are not so good and should be improved. In our college, there are 50 societies that work on various student interests, such as drama, singing, dancing, and UPSC. The campus crowd is good; you will definitely find exposure if you take admission here. All types of scholarships are available at our college. Everything on campus is readily available, including well-known brands and cafes.

Placements: There are no direct placements for the course of Physics Honours, but after a Master's, there is a possibility of getting placed in the field of research, or you can also get a job teaching Physics in many universities in the country, like JNU, QMU, Allahabad University, etc.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are the best compared to other DU colleges. Campus Wi-Fi is available but not for students; it is for the faculty. However, there are computers on which you can do work related to your course. Other than studies, it is prohibited to use the campus computers for personal work.

Faculty: All teachers are helpful to all types of students. Some may seem arrogant, but that's their way of teaching. Looking at things, they are highly qualified for their jobs, and they know what they are teaching us. There are 2 semesters per year, and exams are held semester-wise. Around 50-60 students pass, and some get backlogs in 1 or 2 subjects.
