Q:   Is Jamia Millia Islamia good for M.Com?

A:
{Source: M.Com students & alumni}

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) - Is it Good for M.Com?

Based on reviews from current students and alumni, here's what they say:

* Placement Record: While the college claims to have a good placement record, the reality seems to be different. According to students, only about 20% of students get placed, with the highest package offered being INR5.5 LPA.
* Recruiters: Companies like Samsung, Kotak Mahindra, DMI Housing Finance, and Acxiom visit the campus for placements, but the number of recruiters is relatively small.
* Course Curriculum: The M.Com course is well-structured and covers finance, accounting, and purchasing, making students industry-ready.
* Teaching Quality: Some students feel that the teaching quality could improve, while others appreciate the support and guidance received from faculty members.
* Infrastructure: The college has a beautiful campus with modern infrastructure, including a large library, laboratories, and a sports complex.
* Scholarships: JMI offers scholarships to deserving students, including the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

In conclusion, while Jamia Millia Islamia has its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and course structure, the placement record for M.Com appears to be inconsistent. Prospective students should weigh these factors carefully before deciding whether JMI is the right fit for them.

    Review of Jamia Millia Islamia.
    Placements: I personally don't know a lot about placements as I'm just in my 2nd year but as far as I know, placement is average in my course. The median salary for the 2023 graduating class was INR 4.80 lakh. Beside this, there are high placements in courses like BTech, MBA, and MCA.
    Infrastructure: Course infrastructure is nice. The department of mathematics is kind of big and provides many facilities, like library reading halls and common rooms. Classes are comfortable and nice; some classes provide air conditioner facilities also. The hostel in Jamia is so beautiful. The rooms are so big and in the 3-seater room, each student gets a bed, a table, a chair and an almirah, and the food quality is average.
    Faculty: Yes, mostly teachers are highly qualified and professional teachers, which teaches so well. Mathematics is quite nice but difficult too; it's not easy to pass easily in exams as paper marking is not lenient. One has to gain 40% to pass the exams.
    Other: I'm interested in mathematics, as there is no such thing to memorize . We have to just understand the concept nicely. But in the math department, students and teachers are less engaged in fest and all activities.

    Placements: Placement in my course is average, like 4-7 LPA. Beside this student's mostly opting for higher studies or competitive exams. One can pursue any finance or marketing company. I personally don't know much; I'm just in 2nd year so this is all that I came to know till now.
    Infrastructure: College provides us many facilities like labs, libraries and we'll sanitation and big, stone-conditioned classrooms. Beside this, college is very eco-friendly and always neat and clean. The college provides a big sports complex on which almost every sport facilities is available, such as basketball, football, badminton, table tennis, etc.
    Faculty: Teachers are professionals and are qualified and knowledgeable. Most of the teachers teach so well and nicely. The difficulty of the exam is average; most of the questions are taught and practiced by the teacher. But as I say in my course marking is not that linear.
