Q:   Is BSc and BSc (Hons) admission at DU (Hindu College) entrance based?

A:

Hindu College admission to all the programmes is entrance-based. While the college accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its UG courses, such as BA, BSc and BCom, admission to all the postgraduate programmes is based on the scores obtained by students in the CUET- PG exam (starting admission 2023). The institute along with DU started accepting CUET UG from 2022 onward and the CUET PG from the 2023 session onward. Before this, admission to UG was subject to merit scores obtained by the students in Class 12 and PG admission was mostly subject to DUET exam previously conducted by DU. However, the university still accepts ECA quota admissions.

All the facilities are provided in our college.
Placements: Most of the students in our course focus on UPSC and SSC, so they don't need internships or placements. Internship cell provides equal opportunities to all students. It conducts job mela and placements on time.
Infrastructure: The girls' hostel is good and affordable. Food is served 3 times a day and the rooms are spacious. It allots 2 students in a single room and provides high-speed Wi-Fi. There is a ground for sports. It has basketball, football, and a gym.
Faculty: Semester exams are easy so all the students pass easily. Teachers in our college are helpful and well qualified in their subjects. The course curriculum is job-oriented and math helps in every subject.

Review of Hindu College, University of Delhi.
Placements: B.Sc. Mathematics students get few placements. Students get placed in any of the startups or small financial institutions as trainees or lower grades with a salary of more than Rs.20,000 per month. I recommend students do a master's after graduation as it has good value.
Infrastructure: It is one of the best colleges at the University of Delhi. Classrooms, labs, and library are very good. Students get a wide area to study. The peaceful environment on campus makes it the best college in India. Hostel accommodation is not currently available due to some technical reasons but it will reopen soon. Construction work is going on.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good, well qualified, and helpful to students in further studies. Teaching quality is up to the mark. The course curriculum is very relevant and makes students industry ready. Semester exams are somewhat tough but easy for students who prepare well. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose this course because I love mathematics.

Satisfied but not that happy with the student teacher ratio as it seems so unfair.
Placements: There is no proper placement in this college. Students are not at all aware about the placements in the college. If the college starts to offer placements and internship to the students, then the level of the college may increase.
Infrastructure: Great infrastructure and hostel facilities, but the hostel fee is a bit too high for girls and boys hostel is not even there. The college administration takes very good care of the college cleanliness and maintains it frequently. The hostel fees for girls and the absence of boys hostel is an issue.
Faculty: The faculty is highly qualified and experienced, and the exams are conducted from time to time. But individual attention is not given to students as the student-teacher ratio is low. Teachers are very less compared to the number of students in a class.

Our college has good placement and internship opportunities.
Placements: Students are eligible for campus placements from their 3rd year. Companies like DE Shaw, Nomura, Axxla, Deloitte, ZS Associate, Index, Brain and Company, and many others visit the college. Most of the students I saw are preparing for civil services in college. I want to get placed on campus, and later, I want to do an MBA.
Infrastructure: High-speed Wi-Fi is available in labs, but it is very slow in classrooms. Computer labs and library are good. Classrooms don't have air-conditioned facilities. Hostels are still not reopened due to renovation work. The sports ground is good, but not many tournaments are held.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is very good. Semester exams are not much difficult and can be easily passed with knowledge of basic concepts. 100% of students pass the annual exams. The curriculum is relevant if you are going for Master's.
Other: I was interested in Mathematics till 12th, so I chose this course. More options for 3rd-year DSE subjects should be available. After the pandemic, not many activities are conducted by the college, but society fests and events are held.

Our college gives a charming campus life and a friendly environment.
Placements: Students are placed in companies with average salary packages of 5 to 6 LPA depending on student efforts. The highest salary package is 14 to 16 LPA. College has an e-cell and internship cell called Abyas. They provide many opportunities and other non-tech internships are provided like from AICTE and NSS. There is a good culture of internships.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available but the speed is not good. Library is fully air-conditioned with a lot of books. Girls hostel has air-conditioners and food is very good but the boys hostel is not open as its renovation is going on. College has a good sports ground for sports quota like cricket and football.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive. They complete the course and there are tutorial classes for doubts. Students keep interested and score well in exams. Semester exams are not tough if you are understanding the classes and reading for 1 to 2 hours every day to score very well.

No, your percentage is too low so you won't get any seat for B.Sc(Hons.) Try for some other courses. The cutoff is hardly 75 so your percentage is too low. You don't even have 1st division so not a chance. Nowadays, 60% for honors is mandatory, so I recommend you to give improvement of 12th and scor
