Excellent infrastructure and facilities, well-defined curriculum with great faculty.
Placements: In the civil department, there are 104 registered students, out of which 72 students are placed. This results in a placement rate of 69.2%. Some recruiting companies include Microsoft India, Google India, Amazon, Zomato, Tata Projects Limited, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Merilytics, American Express, and Reliance Industries Limited. The top roles offered are IT Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, Market Analyst, Software Engineer, Graduate Engineer Trainee, and Manager. The highest package is 96 LPA, the lowest package is 10 LPA, and the average package is 16.3 LPA. Approximately 10 to 12 percent of students got internships in companies like Microsoft India, Cisco, Standard Chartered, and American Express.
Infrastructure: The faculties in the civil department are excellent, and the infrastructure is also very good. However, there is no Wi-Fi in the civil department labs. The classroom infrastructure is impressive, with high-speed Wi-Fi available in classrooms and the P.K. Kelkar Library, which has a peaceful environment and a large collection of books. The seating available for study is more than sufficient and comfortable. The quality of facilities in the hostel is above average, and the food quality in my hostel is generally very good. There is a small gym area in my hostel, but not in other hostels. Medical facilities are extremely good, and sports and games are also excellent, with coaches available for all sports. The coaches ensure that every sports student practices regularly.
Faculty: The faculty is extremely good, helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also excellent, and the course curriculum is relevant. It prepares students for the infrastructure industry and also enhances their skills in other areas. There are sufficient courses available for knowledge about computer science so that students can build a strong foundation to apply in tech companies. The semester exams are very difficult, and while there is relative grading, the pass percentage in hard courses is approximately 20%. This is why some students receive F grades, and it can be challenging for an average student to achieve a CGPA above 7.
Other: I chose this course because of my JEE rank. The best thing about civil engineering is that there are many more government vacancies available compared to other branches. I don't have any particular improvements I wish to see in my course as the curriculum is sufficient. However, the percentage of placements has recently decreased compared to past years due to fewer infrastructure companies participating in campus placements, which has led students to apply off-campus. I request those companies to participate in campus placements. The events, fests, campus crowd, and extracurricular activities are managed by students, which improves connectivity among students. The campus is surrounded by greenery, and there is negligible pollution. Some scholarships are provided by the college based on students' financial conditions and merits.

All aspects are very good at IIT Kanpur.
Placements: About 69% of students were placed in the Civil Engineering course, with 106 registered students. The highest package offered was 1 crore, while the lowest package from IIT Kanpur was 8 lakh, and the average package for civil engineering graduates was around 17 to 18 lakh. The top recruiting company was Quant, with top roles offered in the course as IT Analyst.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of labs and classrooms are very good, with air conditioning in all areas. Most machines in the labs are in working condition. The hostels at IIT Kanpur are excellent, each having its own mess and canteen that provide all necessary food and items for daily life and study. Additionally, each hostel has its own sports ground, and sports equipment is provided by the hall office, contributing to a great hostel environment.
Faculty: Professors at IIT Kanpur are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is highly relevant and effectively prepares students for the industry. Semester exams can be quite difficult in some courses, while others have an average difficulty level, with a pass percentage of around 20%.
Other: I chose this course for civil exams after completing my degree. The campus organizes many events, with about four major fests conducted by the student community.

Review of IIT Kanpur by a civil engineering student .
Placements: I had about 147 students in my batch. The highest package will be around 40 lacs, the lowest package will be around 5 lacs, and the average will be around 15 lacs. Mainly, construction and steel companies will be recruiting. About 20–30% of students got internships. Internships will be attained by mostly PG students. Structures, environment, and hydraulics will be the top roles.
Infrastructure: There are 4 types of Wi-Fi available almost at every spot in college. The labs are wonderful and well-equipped. Classrooms are extraordinary and contain switch boards, projectors, big screens and central AC. The library contains a vast number of books, a good chair, fewer switch boards compared to occupancy, and central AC. Mess food will be average. You can get extra items by paying the very minimum amount. Canteen food will be good compared to a mess. We have a health centre open 24 hours a day, and money will be paid by the college for any treatment and free medicine every time. We have big grounds and can play almost all sports.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable but some are not fit for teaching. The course curriculum is relevant. Extra work should be done by the students to get internships and placements. Semester exam difficulty level will be based on professor but grading is tough compared to other IITs. Pass percentages will be lower compared to other IITs .
Other: I have chosen IIT Kanpur but there is no civil engineering in it. We have a branch society, which helps us lot and my 4th semester courses were good. Bringing awareness about civil engineering to students. Various events will happen at clubs and societies. We have 3 fests. 2 in October and 1 in March. A batch consists of around 1200 students. We can build connections by participating in clubs, societies, and festivals. Campus is inside the city and you can roam outside but you will be pan-parag more. You have some scholarships like NSP, DONOR, and FBM based on your eligibility. Extracurricular activities are clubs, societies, and fests.

Number 1 in academics and the best place for overall development.
Placements: The placement is very nice. Most everyone gets placed. The student placement office of IITK helps every student. The highest package was Rs 4 crore. The average package was around Rs 30 lakh. Around 50% of students get internship opportunities at various companies.
Infrastructure: The campus is very beautiful, big and lush green. The classrooms are air-conditioned and big. The labs are also very good. Wi-Fi is available 24/7 in hostels. The library is also very big. Also, there are computer labs for self-study. The food quality is also good.
Faculty: The teachers are highly talented and knowledgeable. Their quality is very good. However, the course is old. It is not aligned with the modern needs of the industry. However, overall, the course is nice. The exams are not very difficult and can be cleared by studying a week before.
Other: This is the best college in terms of academics.

My Genuine Experience of IIT Kanpur.
Placements: The students placed in my course are around 70% in on campus placements. The highest package was 40 LPA which is in Google, and the lowest is around 10 LPA not idea about company, the average package is around 16 LPA. So there are only one or two companies who come for the core roles, so student mainly prepare for the non core roles companies like Google, microsoft, oracle, navi, samsung etc. My batch is around 150 students but there is only 8 to 10 students who got the on campus internship so the internship numbers in my department is not good. Top roles SDE, Consultancy, Quant, and Product Manager.
Infrastructure: For my department, the labs are not very high-teaching, although the machines are very huge and good According to my department, the lab will not be very high-teaching, obviously but the classrooms are very good, with air conditioning and fully smart classes and their is single library on campus, which is very large; around 1000 people can sit at a time in the library. In the hostel, there are two bedsone almirah, one table, two chair and one mirror for double sharing room, and for triple sharing room, there are three beds, one fan, two almirahs, etc. In the mess, milk, utter, read, jam, tea, and eggs are served on a daily basis and weekly breakfast changes like poha, Idli, and dosa are like this. There is only one medical store in the whole campus, which is not good. There are almost every field and court for each sport.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful in every case, but there are always exceptions, and almost every teacher is very helpful in every case. The teaching quality is very good, but as I said before, some teachers do not have that kind of quality, but they are all very educated in their respected specialty. The course curriculum is good, but it does not make us ready for the industry level. The semester at IIT Kanpur is very difficult. Every week, there are exams and quizzes.
Other: I chose this course on the basis of my rank, and my house is also close to IIT Kanpur, so my parents told me to take it. The best thing about my course is that people can easily pass it with less study. The improve should in the course policy and the grading can be more lenient. There are three main fests in the IIT Kanpue Antaragani: the teach fest, Techkriti the techfest, Udhghoosh the sports fest, and there is also another fest, but they are not so famous.

Students also asked

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
