College is huge. Life, placements and infrastructure are very good, but medical facilities are bad.
Placements: Almost 84% of the students got placed in our course. The highest domestic salary package offered is around 70 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 7 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 13.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Brittania, Nestle, Pepsi, etc. Top roles offered are food process engineer and in farm machinery. Almost 70% of the students are eligible to take internships in certain startups and software companies like Microsoft.
Infrastructure: All the facilities are available in this course. There are many labs, big farms, big classrooms and many research labs too. Wi-Fi is available everywhere inside the campus and has a high speed of 1.2 Gbps. There is a common library with more than 2 lacs books. The online version of these books is also available. There are a total of 22 hostels, of which 16 are for boys, and 6 are for girls. For freshers and sophomores, there are hostels with 3 members per room. For third-year students, there are hostels with 2 members per room. For fourth-year students or fifth-year students, there is only one member per room. Hostels aren't air-conditioned. Mess food is not that good, but it is edible. They are serving a 4 times meal. Night canteens are available, which are open till 3 AM. BC Roy Hospital is available inside the campus, which has around 60 beds, but it does not have any medical facilities. All sports and types of equipment and grounds are available in each hostel.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, but some are not helpful. However, all are qualified with a minimum of 7 years of experience, and they are experts in their areas. Teaching quality is not that good, but it can be understood if listened to them properly. This course is very relevant, and nowadays, this course is in big demand after coding. It makes students industry-ready.
Other: Seeing much scope and research area in this course, I thought to opt for it. The best thing about our course is the biggest land area of the department, big research labs and many opportunities.

The department may not do justice, but there are opportunities and the willingness to learn.
Placements: The placements can get tricky for this department, but if you work hard and build some expertise in the area like coding or finance etc. There is a good scope for placement otherwise there are is no specific department jobs available in the college. One needs to be exploring continuously and find a direction to gain experience so that their resume gets well-developed for placements.
Infrastructure: Overall, it has good infrastructure. The only problem may be with accommodation in some hostels. Everyone pays same, but everyone will not get equally good accommodation facilities. Other than that, the best thing is that girls enjoy almost the same freedom as guys which is not easy to see. Moreover, the good internet connection and support from the professors can help you advance your career.
Faculty: The faculty are kind and supportive, but the curriculum is highly irrelevant. In agriculture and food engineering, there are a million applications and the present curriculum touches none. For example, packaging of food, increasing the life of perishable items, using AI for farm machinery. All that they have right now is shared curriculum with the mechanical, civil and chemical department. This department should find the scope of its own and not mix with few other departments and create a course.
Other: Do not be blinded by one or two years seniors who behave like Gods. Explore everything you like but be mindful of the fact that its academics that help you achieve the purpose of attending college. Also take advantage of exploring in fields of coding, maths, finance, entrepreneurship, etc.
