Review of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Placements: The statistics of placements have been improving steadily over the past few years. Our placement team is a student-operated body, and the team members work hard in inviting a diverse set of core and non-core companies. Many mock tests, mock interviews, pre-placement talks, and placement tests are conducted to make all the students familiarise with the placement process and to gain insight and confidence.
Infrastructure: Being a college that's 60 years old, it has been developed and supervised very well. Labs have top-notch equipment, and in most of the cases, we get a hands-on experience. It is sometimes unbelievable that a great research work goes on even about the smallest topic. A hospital and an ambulance are available round the clock. Sports and gym are accessible to all. Mostly, the electricity and water problem don't occur as it is a government funded college, except a couple of times during the summer.
Faculty: The faculty are easily approachable. They are not only qualified and experienced in their field of study but also talented and supportive. The course curriculum is flexible and the changes are being made every year to make it better. A diverse set of courses are offered, and we have a chance to explore other department courses also, which can be chosen through electives, etc.
Other: The college fests are amazing. Exchange semesters and co-curricular activities are conducted throughout the semester, which keeps your passion up-to-date along with your academics. The faculty are supportive. The campus has a positive environment.

IIT Madras, the best engineering institute in India.
Placements: The placements for my senior batch was really good. Many of them applied for higher studies and most of them got through. There are many people who got placed in non-core companies and in core companies as well. Though the pay is less initially, people who are really interested in their profession will take such jobs. Overall, the placements went well.
Infrastructure: The labs in the civil engineering department at IIT Madras are excellent. In fact, the civil engineering department at IIT madras is ranked as the best in the country. The food available in the mess is not so good. However, we get nice food in the cafes. There is a fantastic library with many facilities, and there is a good institute hospital as well. The hostel rooms are very tiny, but the classroom atmosphere is excellent.
Faculty: All the faculty members are really friendly and helpful. They will always be ready to guide us in any research or project work and even in competitions. The course curriculum set by them is the best as it proves to be useful most of the times. We got some industry exposure by doing internships through professors, and they would recommend us to a company where they are advisors.
Other: There are various other clubs at IIT Madras, like technical, arts, cultural, drama, sports, etc. The extracurricular activities at the institute is another important reason which makes it the best one in the country.
The campus also has a vast flora and fauna which makes it an excellent place to live in.
