Excellent academics and beautiful life in the campus.
Placements: The placement scenario is excellent. Not only in my senior batch but the condition is same from past many decades. Almost all big names like google, oracle, HPCL, etc. came for campus placement. 95% students are placed. For the rest 5%, these are the students those did not sit for placements due to their own business. The highest salary offered in my knowledge is around 65 LPA and the minimum is 3.5 LPA with an average of 8 LPA. Companies offered the role according to their requirement like consulting, manager, planning, etc. Almost 60% students were offered for the internship. Many offers came from abroad. Stipend offered in the range of 2-7 lakhs with an average of 3 lakhs.
Infrastructure: Campus is full of facilities. Every hostel has its own TV room, sports kit (cricket, football, badminton, squash, pool in few, hockey, etc.). A well facilitated hospital is there with 6-7 doctors including many specialist. College area is around 618 acres. Every department has well equipped labs. They provides one of the facility in India. Hostels are non ac but cleaning is properly maintained. Campus has 24*7 canteen for residents. The greenery of the college will help you to concentrate on your work.
Faculty: Professors are best in IIT-Madras. They are very helpful and are knowledgeable. All the faculty members are Ph.D from reputed college across the world. They generally use projectors for teaching. There are facilities for industrial tour in India.

A great campus which is self-sustained.
Placements: The placements for CSE are excellent as always but if you go to the other branches, the chances of placement reduce to 30-50% only. In the case of chemical engineering M.Tech. it is around 10% for core companies and the remaining 20% go in software companies. For B.tech branches, CSE is the best with almost 100% placements while the others also get in core companies to around 30-40%, while the rest of them will get in software with overall around 85-90% placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good but not the best as I have studied in NIT Allahabad(B.Tech). There we have AC in almost all the labs and lecture halls but here in Madras, there are no ACs even in the lecture halls. The library is good with full air-conditioning, and the hospital is excellent and by far the best I have seen in any college. Talking about sports, it can be said that it is one of the best colleges which provides a great support for games and physical activities, from yoga to meditation to almost every sport you can imagine with coaches for some of them like cricket, football, hockey etc.
Faculty: The faculty team is no doubt one of the best for M.Tech. Most of them are having a great knowledge about their subjects and are well-qualified too. You may find a little difficulty while doing the project in the 2nd year so choose your guide wisely or it will spoil your grades.
Other: You will find everything here from shopping centres to ATMs, food court and a 24*7 open IRCTC canteen. Apart from this, the campus is very beautiful to roam around especially at night. There is no smoking and drinking inside the campus. Earlier it was a wildlife sanctuary in which this IIT was built so all the other animals are present except those which can harm us. We have deer, monkeys, foxes, jackals and many other animals.

Other: It is one of the best college in India. More focus here is on the research part as a result of which many student gain the confidence to think of their own start up. There are two major departments here who work in sync to help you out with starting up, they even help you out in finance and give you 5 lacks. There are a lot of experienced mentors here who have successfully made an exit from their numerous start ups. Study wise this college does not put a lot of pressure on students. Basically I wanted to go to IIT Bombay first but then getting to know this college and the reviews from few of my friends in IITB I thought this college would suit for me better. For M.tech every one has to do one year academic courses with their projects and in the second year a research project. This is gives hands on experience of the industrial projects and a loads of experiance. For the B.Tech students there are loads of internship progs available in reputed companies like Merc. Benz, google, Microsoft and a lot more. I think this will give a brief introduction of my college.

Other: IIT-Madras is one of the best national institutes in our country. The courses offered are wide-ranged, including inter-departmental as well. The extra-curricular activities in which a student can get involved are plenty. The environment inside the campus is pleasant. The fests - both cultural and technical, inter-hall, inter-IIT, etc., will make a student realize that academics are not the only important things in one's life.

Other: I don't think so IIT Madras needs any introduction. Through its natural beauty and available facilities it can attract any person on this earth. The way here people conserve the natural greenery is commendable .It’s an epitome of green campus. The Institute in itself is located. In this campus people are very conscious of conserving not only plants but also the extinct animals as we can see everywhere deer, black-bucks, monkeys, pigeons, etc. in the campus. Buses ply between the gate and other locations on campus at regular intervals. I only thing I found missing in the campus is the availability of proper North Indian food. The management system here needs some improvement in field of food and cafeteria provided for the students which need regular investigation by the higher officials. In the area of learning environment and Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility, I don't think any other institute in India is having the way this institute is proving for the students and research scholars. With this so many extracurricular activities are going on simultaneously.

Q:   Is IIT JAM difficult?

A:

Experts share that the IIT JAM exam is difficult to clear. This is not because the difficulty level of the questions asked is very high but because the selection ratio through the IIT JAM exam is low. However, this does not mean that the questions asked in the exam are very easy.
