Quality education & facilities.
Placements: Placement opportunities were less for Maths students, we were clubbed with the B.Com department. Around 3-4 students were placed as not many applied. Most companies that were interested in our course were banking companies. We did have seminars on new career paths but not many internships were available.
Infrastructure: JMC has the best infrastructure! Everything facility like library, labs, common rooms, gym, well maintained lawns, common Wi-Fi is available. The campus is well maintained and offers a friendly ambience. There are no hostel available in the campus. Location of the college is also in a safe and clean environment.
Faculty: Math department has qualified and really helpful teachers, they will help even with the basics of topics. The curriculum is however not really industry specific although the course subject is itself abstract. Exams were good enough, you can pass your exams by attending classes regularly.
Other: The overall ambience of JMC is quite friendly and the regular activities builds confidence and leadership qualities.

I am satisfied with our college.
Placements: Placements in our college are good. In our course, the highest salary package offered is 6 LPA from ICICI Bank, Paytm, etc. our college is Arts and Commerce based. Top roles offered are business analyst, marketing associates, HR, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure as compared to other DU is good. It has a big lush green ground, a park filled with beautiful plants and trees, open and spacious canteen, and an event hall. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and library are good. But the hostel facility is not available. The nearest PG location is Satya Niketan.
Faculty: In our department, faculty members are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They help us to understand the course. However, the attendance system is quite strict in our college, and it is mandatory to have 75% attendance for all, We get marks for attendance also out of 5.

Experienced and qualified teachers.
Placements: Our college offers placement opportunities to all students. Approximately 25% of students successfully secure placements. The average package offered in our course is 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies in our course were EY, Deloitte, ICICI, etc. The top roles offered were CRM, sales, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the course was average. The college has facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, libraries, classrooms, etc., on campus. Hostel facilities are also provided by the college. The food in the hostel mess was good to eat. Sports and other necessary facilities were provided by the college.
Faculty: Yes, the faculty of the college was helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of our college was good. The course curriculum of the college was relevant. It makes the students industry-ready in college. Exams were easy and difficult, and the pass percentage was 36%.

Infrastructure and facilities are very good.
Placements: On average, only 40% of the batch got placed. The highest salary package offered was 6 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 2 LPA. The average salary package offered was 4 LPA. McKinsey, Google, etc., are the top recruiting companies. Roles like an analyst, actuarial scientist, etc., are offered to students. About 70% of the students did an internship with Aditya Birla and other finance startups.
Infrastructure: Our college does not provide hostel facility. There is a huge ground where various sports like Kabaddi and basketball are taught. Wi-Fi is available 24x7. Labs, classrooms and library are spacious and very well-equipped. The college also has a huge cafeteria that offers a variety of dishes.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are very well-qualified and possess many years of experience in teaching. The quality of teaching was mediocre as most of them taught just for us to be able to pass our exams. I studied Maths Hons, in which most subjects required you to prove theorems and learn algorithms. The course curriculum did not teach us how to apply this in the industry.

I am satisfied with the course structure but dissatisfied with the placements.
Placements: About 10% of students got placed in our course, about 7-10 students from the class out of 82 students. The highest salary offered was Rs. 45,000 per month and the lowest salary offered was Rs. 20,000 per month and the average salary offered was Rs. 30,000 per month. Godrej was the top recruiting company visited for our course, and our course students were eligible to attend for the placements of barely 3 companies. The top role offered was an actuarial analyst. The highest salary package offered was 6 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 2.5 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 4 LPA. None internship placements were provided at our college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility was pretty much non-existent as they keep changing the password so students cant access it. Classrooms were good and well-ventilated, and labs were good even though barely anyone except maths Hons used them. The library was good and had a huge collection of books. The college does not provide hostel facility, and sports facilities were not as good since they removed the gym. I never used the medical facilities to elaborate on it, and the canteen was good and hygienic, and the vendor was changed every year.
Faculty: Teaching quality was great of most professors. Few faculty members displayed knowledge, but behaviour towards students was unacceptable. Most of the teachers were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is more inclines towards higher studies and research rather than industry readiness.
Other: I have chosen this course because I was very interested in maths. The course was interesting to learn. The college should have offered science electives. Fest organised is amazing, and not aware of any scholarships. Participation in extracurricular activities like clubs is rather low in this course because it is heavier than other courses at JMC.

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Is B.Sc. at Jesus and Mary College (JMC) a good choice?

Here's a summary of the key points:

* Teaching Quality: Faculty members are generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Some professors display excellent teaching skills, while others may need improvement.
* Course Curriculum: While some students find the curriculum relevant, others feel it focuses too much on theoretical concepts and not enough on practical applications.
* Industry Readiness: Students mentioned that their course doesn't prepare them directly for industry jobs, but they do receive training that makes them "industry-ready."
* Examinations: Exam questions range from easy to difficult, and the pass percentage varies. Some departments have stricter attendance policies, affecting student participation.
* Placements: Placement opportunities exist, but success rates vary across departments. Average salaries range between INR2-INR6 Lacs per annum, with top recruiters like ICICI, EY, and Deloitte.
* Campus Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi, laboratories, libraries, and hostels are available. However, some areas require attention, such as the lack of hostel facilities for mathematics students.
* Ambiance: The college provides a friendly atmosphere, encouraging extracurricular activities and building confidence among students.

Overall, studying B.Sc. at JMC can be a good choice if you're willing to put in effort to succeed despite potential challenges with the curriculum and limited placement opportunities in certain departments.

Q:   Can students join Jesus and Mary College directly without any entrance exam?

A:

As last update in January 2022, admission policies can vary from year to year and may be subject to change. Jesus and Mary College (JMC), like many other colleges in India, typically requires students to undergo an entrance examination or meet certain eligibility criteria for admission into its undergraduate programs. These entrance exams could be conducted at the national level, like the Common Entrance Test (CET) or university-level exams conducted by the University of Delhi.

However, colleges may have provisions for direct admission under certain circumstances such as reserved seats for specific categories, sports quota, or merit-based admissions. It's best to check the latest admission guidelines provided by Jesus and Mary College or the University of Delhi to confirm the current admission process and eligibility criteria. You can visit Shiksha's website for more information.

Q:   What is the last date for filling CUET application form?

A:

A nationwide entrance exam called the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is required for admission to all undergraduate degrees at all central universities. Registration for CUET UG 2024 closed at 11:50 p.m. on April 5, 2024. The online application for CUET 2024 was open. The CUET 2024 admission card was made available by the National Testing Agency via exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/ on May 29. The CUET 2024 exam for Delhi centres was originally planned for May 15, but the NTA has moved it to May 29. The CUET admit card and intimation slip can be downloaded by candidates who have paid the application fee and registered for the exam.

Q:   Does Jesus and Mary College accept CUET score?

A:

As of my last update in January 2022, Jesus and Mary College (JMC) in New Delhi, India, is affiliated with the University of Delhi. At that time, the University of Delhi primarily admitted students based on merit lists derived from board examination scores (such as CBSE or other relevant boards), rather than through entrance exams like the CUET (Common University Entrance Test).

However, educational policies and admission procedures can change over time, so I would recommend checking the official website of Jesus and Mary College or the University of Delhi for the most up-to-date information regarding their admission process and acceptance of the CUET score.

If you have commerce with Maths in 10+2 then you will be eligible for BSc Maths but if you have only commerce as the main stream, then you are not eligible.
