An underrated DU college!
Placements: There is an active placement cell in the college, which provides great exposure to students of various degrees and courses. However, most of the literature students prefer to go for higher studies, and anyway, their options for placements are very limited when compared to commerce students.
Infrastructure: The campus of Jesus and Mary College is very underrated; the lush green surroundings and well-maintained buildings make it a much more aesthetic campus than a lot of DU colleges. There is a big field for sports activities, basketball courts, an audiovisual room, and mostly clean washrooms. However, the college lacks a hostel for the outstation students.
Faculty: The English department faculty is one of the best in the college, and most of the professors are extremely helpful and experienced. The NEP has changed a lot of things for the students as well as staff, but everyone is learning to come to terms with the new policy.

The college has really good infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: Many leading corporates recruit a considerable number of students from our campus. Companies like Deloitte, E&Y, ICICI Bank, Macquaire, PwC, Accenture, Wills Towers Watson, etc., came here for placements. More than 100 students got placed.
Infrastructure: Jesus and Mary College has an efficient IT infrastructure with ICT-enabled classrooms, seminar halls, labs, library, and an administrative block. The entire campus is connected with Wi-Fi. The amphitheatre is used for cultural activities like music, theatre in particular street plays, talks, poetry reading sessions, arts and photography competitions. The college has an aesthetically designed and air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of around 600. The college takes pride in being a differently-able friendly campus with ramps, lifts and special washrooms added to the building.
Faculty: The teachers are experienced and highly qualified. They don't teach what's in the textbook but guide their students to think beyond. The curriculum has been revised and is relevant to the present times. The students don't just earn a degree but become thinking members of society. Semester exams are not that difficult if one studies well, and the evaluation system is strict.
Other: The college has 5 compulsory societies, each helping in the betterment of society. Every student is required to be one of these five societies. There are several cultural societies. It is advised to be a part of them as they help in the overall development of students.

Driving into the world of JMC.
Placements: 83% of students were placed successfully. The highest package being a literature major which was around 25-30,000. The average CTC was around 15-18000 and the lowest was Rs 10-15k. Around 72% of the students got internships. Many were taken as fellow bloggers, editors, etc.
Infrastructure: The college embodies a huge L Park, an amphitheater, a huge Multipurpose hall as well as two gyms that is one open gym area and another gym within the premises of the building. The canteen is huge along with another accompanying food caravan, one football ground and a basketball court.
Faculty: The faculty is extremely understanding and approachable. The English department is extremely helpful, inclusive, and accommodating. They provide assignments and notes, take CAs on time, and provide sufficient time to complete projects or assignments assigned.
Other: The course close is due to two reasons. Literature major students have a variety of courses to resort to from Law, Mass Communication, and Editing to foreign relations. The course material is informative, the faculty of English honours in JMC is one of the best and with the English department fest Literati, Diwali fest SPARSH it becomes all the more appealing.

Indeed I am emphatically satisfied with my college's faculty, facilities and vicinity.
Placements: The placement wing of JMC functions efficiently and gives myriad opportunities to the students to affix themselves to the top-notch companies. The respective department of each course helps the students to get their hands on a job or internship. A massive percentage of students apply and few get through the placements depending on the skill and cognisance they exhibit about the particular field. The highest package goes up to 3-6 Lacs. Companies like FIS global and NIIT come to recruit the students.
Infrastructure: Jesus and Mary is one of the best and top ranked colleges of Delhi University. The college is well-equipped with all the facilities and services needed for a college to function methodically. There is a well furnished, air conditioned library stacked with all the necessary course books and reference books with proper seating arrangements. The classrooms are well organised with furniture including smart boards with Wi-Fi provision all around the college. The college runs a well maintained and ventilated canteen which serves hot and scrumptious food. There is a medical room to take care of the medical emergencies which has the important requisites like beds, medicines, first aid etc. The sports quota students are given tremendous opportunities to perform & compete at high levels and get the best exposure of engaging in their particular sport. Surprisingly the college executes the anti-ragging policy with utmost severity. Indeed the college runs like clockwork where everything from the management to the staff to the students and all the provisions are operated systematically.
Faculty: The faculty of JMC is one of the powerful figures which acts as an inducement for the students to admit themselves here to dive deeper into the depths of knowledge. It's a prerogative to engage in the learning process with such a well-versed faculty. Our professors and ad-hoc teachers are highly qualified, extremely helpful with the notes, clarity of doubts; they teach us with a sense of liberation where we are allowed to delve pensively into the world of our notions and perceptions. The professors have the ability to turn any conversation into an erudite discussion due to the dearth of knowledge they possess. They are competent and proficient enough to provide students with enlightenment regarding any topic and are up-to-date with all the latest and the oldest content regarding the subject and also follows a time table thus, our curriculum is structured in a pertinent manner to make us prepare for specific fields. They effectuate rules and austerity on punctuality, assignments, deadlines, assessments, participation in activities, engagement in class discussions in order to maintain discipline. The faculty is approachable and welcoming and holds a diagnostic approach which let the students to reach up to the professors for anything. JMC follows the exam model instructed by the Delhi University and a year is divided into two semesters which makes it convenient for the students to learn their subject matter. Strict discipline is enforced during the examination where 2-3 teachers are employed for surveillance and invigilation.
Other: I chose this course due to my strong inclination towards English literature which delighted me since childhood and JMC is one of the finest DU colleges for pursuing English literature. The best attraction about my course is indisputably the eloquent and knowledgeable faculty which makes us fall in love with the subject with the practical learning they transport to our minds through their effective teaching methods. Each department organizes and conducts their fests that are open to other departments as well as for students from other colleges. The most awaited time of the year is the annual fest of JMC called Montage which is a three-day long celebration which happens with great pomp and show and big artists and famous bands are invited to magnify the event's splendour. There are provisions for scholarship which are availed by students eligible for that. It's an all girls college and there is an amalgamation of different cultures as students across the country enroll here. Thus, diversity exists in unity but segregation is classified in groups as north Indians, south Indians and north Eastern. There are adequate opportunities for students to engage in extracurricular activities and showcase their talents; there are numerous working societies namely for dance, music etc. And many clubs that work in collaboration with the students hence, giving them the exposure to make them skilled and industry ready.

Our campus is quite good, vast and pleasant. There are excellent faculty in the college.
Placements: For the commerce course, the placements were pretty good in the previous year. We have a placement cell in college, which helps to get in touch with them regarding the placements.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is not inadequate, and it is better than other DU colleges. There are no air conditioners in any of the classes whereas good colleges like SRCC and LSR do. This bias should not exist in DU colleges. Campus wise our college is pretty good, vast and pleasant.
Faculty: Faculty in all departments are pretty good and efficient. Our college is rigorous, almost like school, so teachers share the same temperament of school teachers only, which is a little annoying at times but we can't do much about it.

Q:   Can students join Jesus and Mary College directly without any entrance exam?

A:

As last update in January 2022, admission policies can vary from year to year and may be subject to change. Jesus and Mary College (JMC), like many other colleges in India, typically requires students to undergo an entrance examination or meet certain eligibility criteria for admission into its undergraduate programs. These entrance exams could be conducted at the national level, like the Common Entrance Test (CET) or university-level exams conducted by the University of Delhi.

However, colleges may have provisions for direct admission under certain circumstances such as reserved seats for specific categories, sports quota, or merit-based admissions. It's best to check the latest admission guidelines provided by Jesus and Mary College or the University of Delhi to confirm the current admission process and eligibility criteria. You can visit Shiksha's website for more information.

Q:   Does Jesus and Mary College accept CUET score?

A:

As of my last update in January 2022, Jesus and Mary College (JMC) in New Delhi, India, is affiliated with the University of Delhi. At that time, the University of Delhi primarily admitted students based on merit lists derived from board examination scores (such as CBSE or other relevant boards), rather than through entrance exams like the CUET (Common University Entrance Test).

However, educational policies and admission procedures can change over time, so I would recommend checking the official website of Jesus and Mary College or the University of Delhi for the most up-to-date information regarding their admission process and acceptance of the CUET score.

Q:   Is B.Sc. at Jesus and Mary College a good choice?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Is B.Sc. at Jesus and Mary College (JMC) a good choice?

Here's a summary of the key points:

* Teaching Quality: Faculty members are generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Some professors display excellent teaching skills, while others may need improvement.
* Course Curriculum: While some students find the curriculum relevant, others feel it focuses too much on theoretical concepts and not enough on practical applications.
* Industry Readiness: Students mentioned that their course doesn't prepare them directly for industry jobs, but they do receive training that makes them "industry-ready."
* Examinations: Exam questions range from easy to difficult, and the pass percentage varies. Some departments have stricter attendance policies, affecting student participation.
* Placements: Placement opportunities exist, but success rates vary across departments. Average salaries range between INR2-INR6 Lacs per annum, with top recruiters like ICICI, EY, and Deloitte.
* Campus Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi, laboratories, libraries, and hostels are available. However, some areas require attention, such as the lack of hostel facilities for mathematics students.
* Ambiance: The college provides a friendly atmosphere, encouraging extracurricular activities and building confidence among students.

Overall, studying B.Sc. at JMC can be a good choice if you're willing to put in effort to succeed despite potential challenges with the curriculum and limited placement opportunities in certain departments.
