B.Sc. in Life Science - Batch of 2026

A real glimpse of our Maitreyi college.
Placements: Maitreyi College offers internships and placements. Seminars are held from time to time to spread awareness regarding that among students. As I am a life science student, my college provides research internships in chemistry and zoology. These are usually unpaid, but a student gets skills and experience through them. Thus, yes, it is the right place.
Infrastructure: I am in the life science course. Our college provides proper guidance and study material in all subjects. Apart from that, classrooms are fully furnished. Students can study sitting in the library, where almost all books are available. The professors are so supportive. They are regular at teaching. Classes are rarely delayed or missed.
Faculty: The professors are well-qualified and give their best to reach and impart education to students. They always ensure that the syllabus is completed on time, and in case of some issues, faculty sort out the matter as soon as possible. Teachers are liberal. They listen to students' doubts and queries regarding the syllabus in the best ways.

Our college is one of the best in Delhi University.
Placements: The placements in our college are impressive. Companies like PWC, KPMG, Deloitte, and Aditya Birla come to our college and the highest package this year was 20 Lacs per annum and the average package ranges between 6-8 Lacs per annum. There are also many internships available.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing and one of the best. We have labs for our tally practical and the computers work well. The hostel is nice but I would say it's not affordable as compared to the course. The total fee is 180000 but the food and hygiene are pretty good.
Faculty: The faculty is very helpful and nice. They are very friendly. The course curriculum is relevant but there are many things that are things of the past now, so they should improve on that. The semester exams are moderate; they are not too hard to pass but you have to study very hard if you want a very good CGPA.
Other: I chose this course because it has scope in the field of banking and commerce. I wish our teachers could take more case studies while teaching.

It's average, infrastructure is very good, and facilities are also good, etc.
Placements: In my course, there were no placements as we come from a science background. However, many internships are available, although they are not paid. These internships help improve CVs and resumes by offering certificates. Only selected students are able to participate in these internships.
Infrastructure: There are proper classes held every day. The labs and classrooms are very good, and there are seminar halls and an amphitheater as well. The overall infrastructure is good, with Wi-Fi available. The canteen food is affordable, though the taste is average. Hostel fees are too high compared to the accommodation provided.
Faculty: Most of the faculty in our college and course is good, but a negative point is the partiality among students. The exams are of a normal level, mostly based on previous year questions, and about 90% of students pass. However, in internal assessments, marks are often given only to selected students.
Other: The course is quite hectic, with classes running until 5:30 PM. The regularity of classes is a positive aspect. Improvements could be made in the professors' behavior and teaching methods. All cultural activities and fests are conducted once a year, and they are full of fun.

Maitreyi College has great infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: There are 69 students in total in my course and several opportunities are offered related to placements and recruitments in our college. They also teach students new skills and offer stipends up to Rs. 5,000 which also opens the gate for employment in the future for the students.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by our college for our course are good. Classrooms are large and seats are comfortable. Projectors for smart classes are provided in each classroom and air conditioners are also there. Library contains books from each subject or department. MacBooks are available in the library. Canteen serves healthy and hygienic food at an affordable price. Different varieties of food are available, from South Indian to North Indian, and street food is also available. Sports society is there in the college for those who like to participate in sports.
Faculty: Professors are very friendly and engaging with the students and their teaching method is very understandable. In Maitreyi, teachers are very helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. They provide us with information not only related to our syllabus but also out of syllabus, which helps us a lot. Semester exams are moderate and professors also provide students with notes and previous year questions so that students can prepare themselves for the upcoming examinations.

A good choice among other colleges of DU.
Placements: The placements for the B.A. programme are average. Not many companies hire from our course. The placement rate is around 60-70%, with very few being from on-campus placements. B.A (Hons) has a much better placement as compared to B.A Programme.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is definitely good at Maitrey College, University of Delhi. The campus is a green landscape with red sandstone buildings. The library is well-updated with recent course books. The canteen also offers averagely tasting food at minimal cost. We also have an auditorium, seminar hall, playgrounds, and labs too.
Faculty: The teachers are average. Some of them are very enthusiastic, whereas some of them don't really get bothered about anything. But, all of them are very knowledgeable and experienced. Guest lectures also take place in our college. The exams are also not very difficult.
