Q:   Is BA at Maitreyi College better than Zakir Husain Delhi College?

A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, with both of these institutions having great name for themselves in academics and also having achieved a gradation of "A+" by NAAC, is quite tough to compare these two colleges for studying any subject in Bachelor of arts. Zakir Husain college offers almost 26 different streams or varieties of graduations in Bachelor of arts whereas Maitreyi college offers only 8 varieties in Bachelor of arts. So this may decide a student's choice as to which college to select based on the specialisation one wants to do in this stream of arts. Another criteria is the placements. In this area perhaps Maitri out scores Zakir Hussain. They have declared on their webpage that almost 60% of more than 200 students placed last year were from the stream of arts.

Be that as it may both colleges appear to have a very nice set of teachers and academic programs as well as varieties of co curricular activities for students for the overall development. This makes both the college almost appear at the same footing while selecting. Of course if one is a male student then there is no choice but to go for Zakir Hussain college since Maitreyi is only for girls. But overall I would say Zakir Hussain is better than Maitreyi for BA.

Best wishes to you.

It was good. I am satisfied.
Placements: The placements are decent. It is important to do some research work and be involved in the process throughout. They provide you with good opportunities and options to choose from. Rest is dependent on the students and their abilities to be a part of the programme.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. It’s a beautiful college with a lovely garden and a rock garden maintained by the hardworking gardeners of the college. Along with it, the classrooms have projectors for presentations and advanced learning. The rooms are big and the washrooms are clean.
Faculty: Faculty is commendable and hardworking. They have differ ways of teaching and enhance class learning for every course. The professor student bonding throughout the course increases the efficiency, making it easier for the students. Curriculum is effective.

It is a good place for studying as it has helpful and good staff members.

Infrastructure: All the amenities are available. The quality of the food is amazing. Facilities are great. The best part is the book collection in the library. We get ice cream and curd from Mother Dairy. The hostel has a very good environment and a variety of plants.
Faculty: All teachers are helpful. The course is interesting. 33% is the pass percentage. 75% attendance is mandatory. Semester exams are easy if we study. Teachers use the best teaching methods and notes. The course offers many options.
Other: I am interested in political science, so I chose this course. We gain knowledge of political institutions. Everything is fine. All events and activities are conducted at the highest levels. We enjoy them a lot.

I'm satisfied with our college.
Placements: Hi! I'm a student of Political Science (H). This year's data I don't know, but in the year 2021, there were 75-80% of scholarships. Our college's placement cell works really well and efficiently. A lot of well-known companies came to our college for campus placements.
Infrastructure: The best part of our college is the infrastructure. It is really nice and well developed. Though the classrooms are a little old, they give college vibes. The library is also good, but you'd have to search a lot for a book there. The most attractive parts of our college are its greenery, the gardens, and the rock garden, which were recently built. It's the perfect place to see the serenity of nature!
Faculty: The faculty of our department is really supportive and helpful. Though our college is well known for its microbiological studies, our political science department is still nice. Exams are a bit difficult as it's DU level. But most of the students get a percentage of around 97%.
Other: I'm a UPSC aspirant and also really interested in international relations and political studies. The teaching methodology could be developed a little, and it's not only for Maitreyi, but most of the colleges still follow that old teaching style. I've completed my graduation at home due to COVID. My entire 2nd year was spent at home, so I didn't get to enjoy much of college life. But a fest happened in my first year. The area where Maitreyi is situated in a posh and diplomatic area. So, it's safe and really pleasing here.

It's a great college, but due to Covid, there are online studies which are just a waste of money.
Placements: Our college has great placement opportunities for students in various fields. I am preparing for the civil service exam. Our college also provides us with some societies. With the help of them, we can know the basic information about the exam and can crack it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great and good here. Hostels are in the process of being built. Our college does not provide Wi-Fi. It has a huge library where you can sit and read as many books as you can. The gardens of the college are well maintained and beautiful. Overall, it is a beautiful college.
Faculty: Some teachers here are really very good who just not only provide us with the bookish knowledge but also teach about major events organised around. But some of them lack the ability to teach, and even I don't know whether they are qualified or not. In online mode, the participation of students is also low.
Other: I think Rs. 36,000 for a course of 3 years is sufficient. In addition, you can also get scholarships if you are unable to pay the fees.

It is a wonderful college with excellent infrastructure.
Placements: I think about 60% of the students got placed in good companies, and the salary package offered is around 8 LPA-10 LPA. For internships and placements, there are different cells in our course. We can get jobs as a consultant or lecturer. Overall, our college provides every student with the best as possible.
Infrastructure: Our college is endowed with the best infrastructure and garden. The library is very informative and peaceful. Classrooms are above average. The canteen is very good and provides the best quality of things. Our college garden is regarded as one of the best gardens of Delhi University. In online mode, we did not get a chance to visit the campus, but as much we've seen, it is the best.
Faculty: Teachers here are very good, informative and helpful. They help all the students, whether in Hindi medium or English. They are very qualitative, very intelligent and knowledgeable. There are very interactive and fun-loving teachers. They gave us ample information for career proceedings.
Other: This course is very demanding nowadays because political science provides us a base for every competitive exam. Apart from them, it keeps us updated about the daily activities conducted in our country.
