Faculty members are good, and they educate us to get placements in companies by taking special classes and by outside facilities.

The college doesn't arrange internships and so companies visit only for final placements.

Life at Mar Athanasius College of Engineering.
Placements: Normally, mechanical engineering has low placements, but here almost 50% of students have been placed in the past couple of years. All companies are providing placements. Most mechanical students wish to be placed in the IT field because of the trend. Most students get medium placements, with salary packages around 3 LPA-4 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connections are provided by the college, along with high-quality lab facilities. Classrooms are good and clean. There is a central library and a department library for mechanical students. We have a canteen with lots of delicious food. Hostel facilities are very good, with nice infrastructure. Near the hostel, there is a large ground for sports and cricket practice nets. There is an indoor stadium for other sports. Almost everything is much better than others.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly graduated from IITs, NITs, and other prestigious institutions. Everyone is good and has a friendly mindset. They provide full freedom and a good future for our entire life. This is an autonomous college, so it has the right to conduct exams at any time, and the exam pattern and other curriculum are decided by college management. But, it mostly follows the KTU syllabus and exam pattern now.

It is really good to join the college due to its infrastructure, placement offers & lab facilities.
Placements: Around 70% of students in our course are placed. The highest package is 10 LPA, the lowest is Rs 3 LPA and the average is 4 LPA. Top companies are IBM, L&T, MRF, etc. Around 70% of students got internships in companies also. Top roles include Software engineer, Tester, etc.
Infrastructure: There is college Wi-Fi which can be accessed by students and faculty members. Labs and classrooms are well developed. The library includes more books from both literate and technical backgrounds. There are 4 hostels for each year. Mess is common. The canteen in the college is good. College is not that much-supporting in terms of sports.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful. They lectured us with presentations. Every teacher is qualified. This course is important to get theoretical concepts. Students get ready for their industrial work. Semester exams are conducted by KTU.
Other: There are good events like Takshak (tech fest) and Sanskriti (arts fest).

A review by an average student.
Placements: The placement cell is active enough, and a lot of students are placed recently from college. Mechanical engineering and computer science engineering students are placed the most. Companies including TCS, Tata Motors, L&T, etc., are the top recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: The campus is equipped with Wi-Fi, but a firewall is installed. We cannot access most of the apps and websites, and the speed is also very low. A Wi-Fi fee of 1000 rupees is charged. Some of the buildings are very old, and some are under construction. Machines are also old.
Faculty: Mechanical engineering faculty are polite compared to other departments. The college is very strict, not good for enjoying the college vibes and freedom. It is better to choose government colleges for that. I don't like my college. It is likely to feel like studying in a private college with some exceptions.
Other: If you like to enjoy college life and freedom, choose any other government college. If you like to focus on academics, this is the best option.

Our college has its own uniqueness in terms of standards.
Placements: More than 20 students are placed in our branch. The highest salary package offered was about 8 LPA, and the lowest was 3 LPA. Students tend to get good internships at companies like Apollo, MFT, and other top mechanical companies.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good facilities. Every classroom has a projector with black and white boards. Students can access the college Wi-Fi using their college ID. Labs are well-equipped with the latest software. Our college has a proper library and an e-library. The hostels are good. They are cleaned and maintained well.
Faculty: Teachers are proficient with proper knowledge of the subjects they are handling. The teaching quality is up to the mark. Semester exams are quite moderate and can be cracked with proper preparation. The pass percentage is more than 70%.
Other: Mechanical engineering from this institute is good because it provides good lab facilities.

It is a good college, but the management is a little strict.
Placements: The placements offered by the college are average. Companies like TCS, IBM, Bosch, Vodafone Idea, and Wipro, etc., come here for placements. The average package is about 5 lakh per annum. The top package from the college is about 32 lakhs, and the lowest is about 2 lakh per annum.
Infrastructure: The college provides good infrastructure like classes, library, and computer lab. The canteen has good food at reasonable prices. The hostel facilities are okay, but the Chakravarthy hostel is really bad and highly overpriced. Sports and games facilities are good in the college.
Faculty: Teachers are very good and experienced enough. Some teachers are very strict. The college is following the KTU syllabus but is going autonomous from 2024 onwards. Semester exams are tough but passable. In the exams, we have to score a minimum of 35 marks internally and a 40 in the external exam. It is okay if you don't have an internal; we just have to achieve a total mark of 75 out of 150.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering to do my Masters in automobile because that is a field I am very interested in. The fest is really nice. We have a fest in every semester. In even semesters, it is a cultural fest called Sanskriti, and in odd semesters, it is a tech fest called Takshak.
