Great college with good academics, college life, and placements .
Placements: Currently, I am doing my bachelor's in mechanical engineering at NSS College of Engineering. Almost 80% of students will get placed if they have good academics. The highest package was around 16 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average is about 4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Tata, Federal Bank, Wipro, L&T, etc. Also, our college provides various internship programs for improving our skills.
Infrastructure: It's the second largest government college in Kerala. Our college contains a main central library, a department-wise library, great lab facilities, and smart classrooms. Also, a large ground is available, and all sports items are promoted here: volleyball, kabaddi, football, cricket, basketball, netball, handball, etc.
Faculty: Teachers and other faculty members are well trained and educated; they all are well-experienced persons. Teaching quality and their behavior towards students are all top level, and our syllabus is a little bit outdated, and we need to grab information and education from extra workshops and internships. The semester exam is simple compared to other universities; the pass percentage is 50%.
Other: Mechanical engineering is the oldest, and it's a versatile course, and in NSS College, mechanical engineering has top-quality teachers and great placements. Although the syllabus needs to be updated. There are many cultural events, party-based programs, etc., and also our college provides scholarships for all sections.

I am absolutely satisfied because of the beautiful environment and campus life.
Placements: There are so many companies recruiting students from our college like TCS and L&T; there will be criteria set by the company. For some companies, there must be no backlog history. For others, supplementary exams are not a problem; they only look at the performance in the interview.
Infrastructure: Our college hostel is very eco-friendly and has a nice environment with good food and accommodation. The rooms consist of 4 people per room and single rooms are available for those who opt for them. Bathroom facilities are also good, and there is regular cleaning as well.
Faculty: The facilities here are very helpful and kind. They are always there to help us by clearing our doubts and providing career guidance. They assist us with our projects and everything else. The teaching style is simple and easy to understand. All the teachers are well-qualified and have Ph.D.s.

The college is better than most of the private colleges and is very reputed.
Placements: One of the colleges in Kerala in which most of the top companies like Tata Elixer, etc., are coming even during the recession period. There are opportunities if you can work hard. The placements have been good overall, although the number has been reduced due to the current recession.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is old and looks appealing from the outside, but the college contains all the equipment needed for the students. The hostel is very good and contains Wi-Fi. The food is rated very highly as the hostel food is decided by the students themselves.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified, as you can expect from a top-rated government college in Kerala. The course is from Kerala Technical University. The course is a little old as compared to the current market standards, but it is relevant enough.

An in-depth review of NSS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING looking towards the academics, sports etc.
Placements: About half of our students in the college are getting placed during the recruitment period. This indicates good placement opportunities. Higher package offering companies include ALSTOM and L&T, offering packages of about 18 lakhs per annum. The lowest package can be about 3 lakhs per annum and is mostly offered by marketing companies. The top recruiters of our college are ALSTOM, L&T, TCS, MRF, Gulf Asia, and Shoba Constructions Ltd, among others. Our college mainly focuses on placements rather than internships. There are internships offered by a few companies. For a fresher, the roles offered in mechanical engineering are base roles, such as site engineer, supervisor, inspection officer, trainee, etc.
Infrastructure: The college is spread over a land of about 125 acres with good infrastructure. All our classes are well-furnished and have projectors for presentations. Laboratories have good facilities, and Wi-Fi is not available for students. They can avail of two libraries: a general library containing reference books, magazines, newspapers, etc., and a department library with more specialized books and journals by authors like PK NAG, RK BANSAL, RS KHURUMI, etc. The hostels in the college mainly have shared rooms. Each room consists of two beds, two tables, two chairs, a common wardrobe, a fan, a light, and a charging socket. The food available is quite good, and the mess kitchen is properly maintained, providing healthy food. Within walking distance, there is a primary health center near the college that is free to access, and there is no fee. There is also a hospital located 8 km away. The college gives equal importance to sports and academics. There are grounds for cricket and football, and courts for basketball, volleyball, and lawn tennis. There are also indoor courts for badminton and table tennis, as well as clubs for chess, carrom, etc.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, though exceptions exist. All faculty members are highly qualified, holding Masters and Ph.D. degrees. The teaching quality is quite good. They provide training to meet industry requirements through participation in technical clubs like EDC, SAE, etc. Semester exams are quite challenging; in the last semester, the pass percentage was about 64%.
Other: Mechanical engineering is considered as the base for any growing industry. We can make changes in the existing automobile industry and many things that we see in day-to-day life. The semester is too tight, and faculty members are struggling to complete the courses on time. Having Wi-Fi in class would be nice. Events happen frequently for occasions like Onam, Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day, etc. A technical fest occurs once a year, consisting of various sports competitions, technical workshops, hackathons, games, proshows featuring celebrities, etc. The campus is located far from the crowded city and is calm and quiet; the atmosphere here is pleasant. Extracurricular activities include NSS, IEEE, ACES, and ARMS. These clubs are quite famous in our college and students can participate in various games.

    NSSCE, A quick overview
Placements: Last year, around 80% of students secured placements, with an increasing trend towards opportunities in non-core fields. The highest package offered was approximately 10 LPA, reflecting a shift in demand for diverse skill sets beyond traditional core roles.
Infrastructure: The campus offers a serene and beautiful environment for studying, surrounded by lush greenery, creating a peaceful atmosphere for learning. However, the classrooms and laboratories remain outdated, lagging behind modern standards and requiring significant upgrades to match current needs.
Faculty: Most of the faculty excel in their respective fields, demonstrating strong expertise in what they do. The curriculum is currently straightforward and easy to follow, while exams are conducted frequently, ensuring consistent assessment and keeping students engaged throughout the academic term.
Other: I always had a thing for applications of physics in real life, and I think Mechanical Engineering is the best at exploring that.
