Shortly, this institution is a prestigious institute for mechanical and metallurgical engineering.
Placements: Almost 100% of students were placed. The highest package in mechanical engineering is 16 lakh per annum, and the lowest is 4 LPA. The average package is 9.5 LPA, which is better than many NITs. Most recruit companies are JSW. Almost 97% of students got internships in JSW Steel and Vedanta, which gives an average of 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel is good. The mess is also good . It gives proper food for a healthy life. The quantity is enough to fulfill all the students’ needs. The facilities and infrastructure are lower than NIT but sufficient for spending a good college life. Many programs or seminars are held every month.
Faculty: Faculty is good , all are qualified and have done PhD from authorised institutions like IIT and foreign institutes. Difficulty faced in the semester exam due to an incomplete syllabus, but it depends on students who have done their HW and complete their syllabus through a reference book which is present in the library.
Other: Choose this course because in that institute, mechanical engineering is good in placement wise, and many students crack GATE exam with AIR 3.

My review on our college and my experience till now.
Placements: The average package was 7.5 lakhs. The highest was 14 lakhs off campus. Our college assures 90 percent placement. JSW and Vedanta Steel are mass recruiters. Placements are conducted by the placement cell. Average CGPA for placement is 7.5. There should be no backlogs.
Infrastructure: Hostels are well furnished. Courses are mainly core-focused. Hostels are very spacious. Seniors are supportive. Lecture hall is very big. There are 6 hostels in total on our campus. In which 5 are for BTech students and one is for MTech students. Girls have separate hostels.
Faculty: Faculty are very supportive. Curriculum is a bit old. Faculty are graduates from well-known institutes around India. There are 4 branches, in which computer engineering, production and industrial engineering are the new ones. We have the biggest workshop in Asia.
Other: The intake for 4 branches combined is around 250 students.

NIFFT: An affordable college with placement for core branches.
Placements: NIFFT has a promising record of placement. As the college focuses on only core branches (metallurgy and manufacturing), placements mostly occur in core companies. Since the college is small in strength, every student is focused on it, and so the placement percentage is almost 100%. In 2023, the average package was around 7 LPA. Here, the major recruiting companies include Tata Steel, Heavy Engineering Corporation, NML, IOCL, ONGC, Vedanta, JSW, etc.
Infrastructure: The college is really small (65 acres) as compared to any national institute. Though the campus is well-designed and completely utilized, Labs, classrooms, instruments, and equipment are in good condition with all modern facilities. The mess and canteen services are also there, which are quite affordable.
Faculty: The faculty members here are well-qualified with Ph.D. degrees from renowned institutes like IITs, NITs, and abroad. All the faculty members are very supportive. They teach mostly in English so that all the students are comfortable understanding, as students are from different parts of India. NIFFT is a well-known college for core branches like metallurgy and mechanical engineering. But recently, two new branches were also added: computer engineering and production and industrial engineering. Admission to all these B.Tech courses is based on the JEE Main Ranking conducted by NTA.
Other: The college is quite affordable in terms of all the facilities provided here. Overall, it's a very hilly place to learn and make unforgettable memories. But when compared to other big colleges, NIFFT has very little exposure, a smaller crowd, and no impressive clubs. The college is situated in Hatia, a small town in Ranchi, so it does not provide a good destination for outings with friends.

Good college after NIT Jamshedpur in Jharkhand.
Placements: In our college, most every student got a job in the previous year. The highest package in the mechanical branch is 18 LPA. The median is around 8 LPA. And the lowest is 4 LPA. Many companies are visiting our campus. They are JSW Steel, Tata Motors, etc. Placement is good.
Infrastructure: Good campus with around 67 acres. Good student life. We have medical facilities, Wi-Fi, a lab, a library and a sports field. This college has Asia's largest Foundry and Forget department. Jinks Pranav is a cultural festival. Every year, this festival is conducted on our campus in February.
Faculty: The faculty are friendly. They are well educated from top IIT's. Professors are very good. They help us every time. There are two mid-semesters for us. Semester questions are not too hard or too easy. If you study in a proper way, then you can grab it easily.
Other: There is one cultural event, Jinks Pranav, in February.

Good placement in core branch.
Placements: In our previous batch, we got 100% placement. According to the latest data for 2023 in the mechanical branch, the highest package is 14 LPA by Vedanta, the average is 8.75 LPA and the minimum is 3.75 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Vedanta, Tata, JSW Steel, etc. Our college is focusing on only one core branch. We have a computer branch that started in 2022. It is new, so we don't have IT companies.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is decent. Campus area: 67 acres. We have four departments like computer, mechanical, metallurgy, and production, and two diplomas in foundry and forge. We got Wi-Fi, labs, a library, and medical. Gym is now under construction. The crowd is not too large because we have only four branches. Mess quality is okay. We get chicken two times per week. We get four times as much food in a single day.
Faculty: Not too much pressure. You will get extra time for your extra curriculum. Many of us prepare for the GATE exam and some prepare for the CAT exam as well. Our teachers are too knowledgeable. Some of them are from IIT. They are helpful. The semester exam is not too tough. If you prepare for your exam before a week, then you can easily grab it.

Students also asked

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
