Yes, the technology institute offers MSc in Physics as a full-time course. Admission to the course is through IIT JAM followed by CCMN counselling. The seat intake for the course is 25. NIT Calicut admissions are entirely entrance-based for all its UG & PG courses. Candidates are shortlisted based on their past academic records along with their scores in the respective entrance exams accepted for different courses. Further, the institute also conducts GD and PI rounds for the final selection. Eligible candidates can apply by visiting the official website of the respective entrance exams. However, for MBA, candidates must apply on the official website of NIT Calicut.

The SILA Scholarship at NIT Calicut is offered to BTech students in the Department of Civil Engineering. The scholarship is given to those students who have scored the highest and the second the highest in their first, second, and third years of study. The scholarship will be offered to six students in total. The highest scorer will get an amount of INR 50,000, and the second-the highest student will get INR 20,000.

No, NIT Calicut does not facilitate direct admission to any of the courses. Admission is entirely based on merit in the national-level exams, including JEE Main,  GATE,  IIT JAM,  CAT,  NIMCET,  UGC NET, etc. Candidates are further required to participate in other selection rounds, such as counselling, written exam, and interview as well, as per the applied course selection criteria.

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice. 

The CAT exam is always conducted on the last Sunday of November every year so the CAT 2024 exam is expected to be conducted on Nov 24, 2024. Official announcement of the CAT 2024 exam date will be made by the convening IIM on Jul 30, 2024. NIT Calicut cutoff has been released upto JEE Main Counselling Round 8 Seat Allotment result. Candidates seeking NIT Calicut admission to BTech course must have a valid score in JEE Main in order to be eligible for further JoSAA and CSAB Counselling. Tabulated below is NIT Calicut cutoff 2023:

The application fees for JEE Main is

• INR 1,000 (Male unreserved/OBC/EWS category)
• INR 800 (Female unreserved/OBC/EWS category)
• INR 500 (SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category)

Candidates have the option of paying the application fee online through credit/debit card and internet banking. The application form will not be considered submitted until the application fees is paid. Once the application fee are paid, candidates receive a confirmation email at their registered email address confirming the payment of fees. 

Candidates seeking admission to a BTech course at NIT Calicut must have a valid JEE Main score and shall meet the minimum eligibility criteria. To be eligible to apply for the course, students must pass Class 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate. To take the entrance test, aspirants need to register online on the NTA website (nta.ac.in). Further, candidates with marks greater than or equal to the cutoff need to take part in JoSAA counselling for the final seat allotment.
