Faculty members are good. Placements are good, but one has to compromise with infrastructure.

Placements: The batch size of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering for placements is 120, and last year, we achieved 100% placement for all students. Top recruiters included Vedanta, ABG, and BlackRock. The highest salary package offered is 17 LPA, and both the median and average salary package offered is 9 LPA.

Teachers are not satisfactory.

Placements: There are different placements in department branches and courses, but overall placement is 80% and above. In the Physics Department, the highest salary package is 10 LPA and the lowest salary package is 5 LPA. Companies like Allen, Unacademy, PW, Aakash, etc., are among the recruiters. In edtech companies, there is almost zero percent internship, but a summer internship program is held for various Institutes of Physics, allowing students to go there and complete their internships in Physics, te...

Teachers are well-qualified. Placements are better than other NITs. Campus life is good.

Placements: First of all, I am a civil engineering student in the NIT Jamshedpur 2027 batch. In 2024, 95 students registered, out of which 85 got placed. The highest package was 14.4 LPA, and the average package was 8.08 LPA, with the median being 6.50 LPA. Some of the major recruiting companies are L&T, ZS, JISCO, and Bank of India for the assistant manager post. In the 3rd year, 4-5 students get internships, but in the 4th year, students apply for different companies for internships, and most of them get ...

NIT, Jamshedpur- Should I join or not?

Placements: Last year, around 95% of students were placed in the Mechanical Engineering course. Though I do not have a particular idea about the highest or the lowest package, the median was about 9 LPA. The companies that were recruiting were JSL, Accenture, ICICI, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, L&T, etc. The roles offered were data analyst, manager, and teaching roles, etc.

Decent Infrastructure and facilities but very happy with the placements that are going on.

Placements: The best thing about this college is it's placements, even after being ranked low in NIRF it's placements are just exceptional. It is also a source of attraction for students to come to this college. So if you are planning to join this college don't worry about placements.

Placements: The number of students placed in my course was more than 95 percent of the total strength. The highest package offered was 20 LPA, and the average package was in the range of 8-10 LPA. Top recruiters for my course were Tata Steel, JSW and others. Internships were a little less due to the ongoing recession.

Campus life is average. But placements are good.

Placements: In Civil Engineering, generally, around 90% of students get placed each year. The highest package is 16 LPA, the lowest ranges between 5 to 6 LPA, and the average is 9 LPA. Some other branches, like EE, CSE, and ECE, also have excellent placement records. If you are looking for good placements, this is a great option.

Average placement, better infrastructure and facility, average faculty.

Placements: Placements for the mechanical branch are average, but mechanical roles are generally low-paying. Given that condition, we still get plenty of better offers than most colleges. A lot of companies visit, but if you want a non-core job coming from mechanical, it is tough as not many companies allow mechanical graduates for that.

Incredible, authentic and excellent placement stats.

Placements: Placements have been one of the key highlights here at NIT Jamshedpur. For the 2020 batch, the placement of the college stands out at 93.76% and an average of 12.63 LPA, with each individual branch having a placement percentage above 90%. The key point to note is that this placement occurred during the recession period. Companies like Amazon and Atlassian came for the SDE role, while companies like Tata Motors and Vedanta arrived for the jobs in the core sector.
