A:

No, the JEE Main is what gives admissions to the BTech programmes at NIT Kurukshetra. This college is good in terms of facilities, and it is average in terms of placements.
Placements: Around 80% of students got placed in electronics and communication engineering till now. The highest salary package offered by Microsoft is 52 LPA. For ECE, Texas instruments, Synopsis etc., companies visit our college. They take around 5 to 6 students only.
Infrastructure: In the ECE department or I can say in every department there are air conditioners, fans, etc. Every department has labs and classrooms. In the hostel, Wi-Fi and LAN are available. For sports, cricket, chess, volleyball, football, etc., are available. Medical facilities are also available at any time. There is an ambulance in our college.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. They help in the classroom but not in exams. They are very good and teach very well. Mid-semester exams are tough because of less time. In mid-semester, we get more questions but less time but in the end semester, we get a lot of time to complete our questions.

Really good Placement opportunities and green campus.
Placements: Almost ninety percent of students got placement in previous 5 years. The highest package is in crores, the lowest package is 6 LPA, and the average package is 20 LPA. Top recruiter companies are Microsoft, Google and other MNCs. Almost 80 Percent students got internships in top companies like Texas, LG, Microsoft, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is too good. All other facilities, like food facilities, Internet facilities, and library facilities, are always available. Each student gets a single-seater room; the mess committee changes their food according to student reviews; and medical facilities are also available inside campus. A large field for games and sports is provided.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, knowledgeable, qualified, and of a cooperative nature. The teaching quality is almost 9/10. The course curriculum is a little bit of an of an old model. A slight change is needed in the curriculum. The semester exam level is moderate, neither too hard nor too easy for students.
Other: I chose this course because it gives me job opportunities for my bright future in engineering. Two festivals are conducted each year: one technical and 1 cultural.

Overall, the college is very beautiful and campus life is good except for the exam days.
Placements: 85% of the students were placed in the ECE branch and the highest package was 65 LPA and the lowest was 7.5 LPA. The internship scenario is a little bit bad here. The top recruiting company was Hero. Here, the core placements are also good because people get placed in core companies as well as technical companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is awesome, with a lush green campus. The hostel facility is good, while the mess quality is between bad and good. Some hostels have Wi-Fi, while others are getting it. Labs are so beautiful and classrooms are also beautiful. The library is also very big, and there is also a CCN.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful and some don't give marks even after writing the most correct answers. The course curriculum is relevant, as far as I have seen. Mid-semester exams seem difficult due to the lack of leaves between the exams. Difficulty is also due to the fact that many chapters come in one-day exams.
Other: This is the best branch that I could get on my JEE Main rank in this college. Its cultural fest is awesome. I witnessed it with my own eyes. College life is a little bit hectic.

Fully satisfied with my college, good placements in each year, good campus and awesome greenary.
Placements: Placements of my college are really good and the alumni are fantastic. The highest package the year was taken by the students of my branch E. C. E. This is a proud thing for me. Almost 90% students are placed in a good company. The highest package was of 63Lpa offered to the student of E. C. E branch .
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of my college is really good and the facilities are awesome in my institute. All the classrooms and labs are fully air conditioned and all are fully furnished and all are supported by LAN system. Sports facilities are really good in my campus and the sports faculty members are awesome.
Faculty: Faculty are good and their teaching style was also very good. Some of the faculty members are so good in teaching and they taught very well and few are not so much good in teaching (according to me). Overall the faculty are good. The curriculum was al ost updated and the syllabus was relevant for us. Semester exams are little bit tough but if we study properly then we absolutely crack the semester exams.

Overall it's a good college in terms of placement and infrastructure.
Placements: Around 90% of my course branch have been placed in 2023 placement drive. The highest package was offered in our NIT was from ECE branch only around 65 Lacs and minimum package was around 9 Lacs and average lies around 18 Lacs. Top recruiting companies were Microsoft, Qualcomm etc. Around 40% got internship in companies like Microsoft, Genpact etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of NIT Kurukshetra is top level I mean fabulous in first year we have to live in 3 seater room but from second year single seater rooms are there we have Wi-Fi and LAN system here in hostels you will have to bring LAN port. Classrooms are quite good and well furnished will say. Library is okayish but if one wants to study seriously then CCN is here quite silent and chilled in summer season best to study place. Labs are also good and ECE department building is also good at some level. Food we get here 3 times a day in breakfast lunch and dinner. Food quality is okay but not so good if you are in first year. Medical facility we have medical health centre here. We have swimming pool which comes to use in summer and almost every sports you can think of atleast which are played in India. Apart from that we have a guest house here which is outstanding. We have common room in our hostels where we can enjoy games and read news paper or watch TV etc. If one is fond of gym we have gym here too.
Faculty: Coming to the teachers so in first year all the Ph.D. students will teach you and if you are in core branches then you will get professors from 2nd year almost professor will come in 2nd year only but you have to study by your own this is the thing where you will get either you are in IIT/NIT or in private college but here professors are strict and gives very limited marks so yes you have to study at your own most of the time. I have given 3 star because curriculum is not so much relevant don't know why we have to study economics in 1st year and don't know why so much labs we have to do and from 2nd year optional subject had became compulsory but overall you have to manage it and focus on your own interest of area. Difficulties of Difficulties of exam are at par level if you are consistent and understanding then it will be easy for one.
Other: I have chosen this course because ECE have a part of software as well as hardware so a big area of domain you are exposed to. I would like to suggest that NIT should focus more on software in ECE department rather than hardware as it will give edge with CS branch. Events and fest are also up to the mark as our techfest Confluence is the among the best fest of India then we have techfest like techspardha which is also best as in our NIT we make our racing cars which have represented on international level we have an annual sports event citius like you have seen in movies student of the year types marathon etc. Other many things we get if you take part in individual sports they take you to many IIT and NIT for competitions so overall good. Campus surrounding is so beautiful with fountain and we have NIT lake near our campus. Connectivity is n issue have given 4 star actually very few trains we get if you want to come here direct on kurukshetra junction which is approximately 4.3 km from the campus and the nearest airport is Chandigarh airport it is a bit far from the kurukshetra city and there's nothing so much to explore in kurukshetra so it doesn't matter even.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I get into NIT Kurukshetra with 95 percentile?

A:

A 95 percentile in entrance exams would raise a candidate's prospect of getting into NIT Kurukshetra, as the conventional cutoff for NIT ranges from 85 to 95 percentile on most seats. This also includes factors such as the cutthroat competition that may exist for a particular course and the sheer number of applicants.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   How can I get admission in NIT Kurukshetra?

A:

The admissions are mainly through national-level entrance exams such as for undergraduate programs from JEE main while postgraduate level applicants qualify through GATE. After successful qualification in entrance examination, candidates must participate in counseling coordinated by JoSAA or CCMT in respective conditions for seat allocation. Eligible with a good rank in the entrance examination, the student is sure to get admission in NIT Kurukshetra into one of its numerous various programs.

Q:   Is NIT Kurukshetra worth it?

A:

It's important to score well in JEE Main and meet the institute's eligibility criteria to be considered for admission.

The NIT Kurukshetra cutoff 2023 for BTech courses varied between 8104 and 45868 in the last round, with BTech in CSE being the most competitive specialization. Apart from the competitive JEE Main cutoff, the institute has also been ranked 58th by NIRF Ranking 2023 in the Engineering category. In terms of placements, NIT Kurukshetra has a strong record, with the highest package and average package offered during BTech placements 2022 standing at INR 125 LPA and INR 13.89 LPA, respectively.

Well, starting salary can be 3LPA in any average engineering college in IT companies and can go upto 6-7 LPA. For core companies it is bit higher, approx. 4-5 LPA min. for start. In good colleges you will get much higher pay.
