One semester experience in NIT Mizoram
Placements: The placement at NIT Mizoram is decent. Last year, almost 83% of students in my branch (S3 batch) were placed by several companies. According to me, it's a decent and good placement rate.
Infrastructure: The hostel infrastructure in NIT Mizoram is decent—not too bad, not too good. It is okay, but the Wi-Fi is slow, and the labs are good. However, the classrooms need work. The hostel facility is not good because sometimes we face a shortage of water.
Faculty: When I talk about faculty, they are good, but in our branch, they are too strict. They give us too many assignments and check them strictly, which is why I am saying they are strict. However, some faculty members help us learn construction topics easily. The curriculum of the college is decent, and the quality of education is good.
Other: In our branch, the summer papers are purely in South Indian languages. They do not understand Hindi properly, so we communicate with each other in English. When we talk about events, the first organizing is good, and the facilities are good. Personally, I like the food served at events; the quality and hygiene are good. Connectivity and scholarships, according to me, are too strict, and they ask us to serve a type of question for signatures on the scholarship application.

Faculty are good but there is no campus life. Placement is average but it's increasing as of now.
Placements: Previous year, 86 percent of students from my branch were placed. Most of them got placed in tech companies rather than core companies. The median CTC offered was 9 LPA , whereas the minimum is 6 LPA and the maximum is 14 LPA. Top recruiters are L&T , Vedanta , Deloitte, etc. The top roles offered for this branch are Power Systems Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, Electrical Distribution Engineer, Electrical Project Engineer, etc. Even you can apply for some government jobs for electrical engineers via SSC or UPSC.
Infrastructure: NIT Mizoram provides you with all the instruments required for your B.Tech . For the Electrical Engineering department, there is a separate building (Academic Block 2). The library has a variety of books on different subjects, but during exam time, there is a shortage of books. Out of the 4 hostels, 3 are good, but 1 is quite bad, which is for 1st-year students. Messes are separate for each hostel. Food is sometimes very bad. Due to its temporary campus, only some indoor games are provided by the institute. But you can play outdoor games too in the nearby playground. The institute also provides medical facilities, including consultation with a doctor, medicine, and ambulance service.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and well-knownledgeable, even if their teaching quality is brilliant. The curriculum of this course contains two programming languages: Python and C programming, in the 1st and 2nd semesters, respectively. It also gives you the option to take AIML as a minor in the 3rd semester. Semester exams are quite difficult for the electrical department.
Other: Technox is a tech fest organised on the 4th and 5th of October this year . You could participate in different competitions, some of which are poster making, idea pitching , chess , debate, e-game(PUBG, FreeFire, Valorant), coding competition, and many more. You can reach the institute by flight to Aizawl Lengpui Airport or by bus from Silchar, Assam.

NIT Mizoram: Worth it! Faculty Placement Infrastructure
Placements: College gave 100 percent placement in my course, electrical engineering. The highest package offered this year is 44 lakhs by Microsoft. The lowest package is 3 lakhs, and the average is around 10 lakhs. 80 percent of students got summer internships in companies like Microsoft, IIT Bhilai , Adobe , TCS, etc . Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Ashok Leyland, Adobe, etc .
Infrastructure: Colleges don't have permanent campuses, but they provide facilities like Wi-Fi , labs, good classrooms, and libraries. The facilities are quite good with nice food , good sports facilities, and games . Different academic blocks are placed quite far apart with no connectivity.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable , with great teaching quality. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready as the syllabus is very course-centric. Mid-sems were very hard with relative grading. Branch change is also offered.
Other: Major drawbacks are the lack of a permanent campus, less campus life, and connectivity issues . Events and fests are nice with good management.

Yes, the college is very good. Good placements are there with an average of 9.8 LPA.
Placements: There are 100% placements in electrical engineering, civil engineering, and mechanical engineering. The average package last year is 9.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Mahindra, TCS, etc. It is getting better day by day. Overall, it is good for on-campus placements.
Infrastructure: The facilities are very good and supportive. But the sad reality is there is no campus, which means there is no campus life. Hostel buildings are not so good, and the Wi-Fi has average speed, not so high. Classrooms are good, and the library has a good amount of books.
Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable. They have achieved a lot in their field. They are very helpful in all cases. Yes, it makes us industry-ready. Semester examinations are quite tough, but you can easily score with a little bit of study. The minimum CGPA to pass is 4.
Other: Recently, there was a tech fest in our college with multiple events, including an alumni talk.

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty.
Placements: 100 percent students were placed in our course. The highest package was around 15 lacs per annum and the average package offered was 8–9 lacs per annum. Around 20 percent of students got internships, I think. Absolutely satisfied because of faculty, good placements in 2023 but not satisfied with infrastructure and facilities, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course/department are average and Wi-Fi is poor as of now. The quality of the facilities in our hostel is also average; the quality of food available in the mess and canteen is quite good; medical facilities are okay; no sports and games are there.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. But sometimes, due to network problems and technical glitches, classes get cancelled . Semester exams are not that difficult. You can manage mechanics and chemistry 1 day prior to exam.

Q:   Is it worth joining NIT Mizoram?

A:

As per the data collated from verified students' reviews published on Shiksha, students of NIT Mizoram have received placement opportunities from companies, such as Amazon, Flipkart, TCS and Wipro, among others. While the students in their reviews mention that 40-100% of students get placement opportunities every year under different BTech specialisations, the NIRF report of 2022 provides data that only 30% of students (30 out of 97) got placed via the campus. Additionally, the median package stood at INR 6.80 LPA. Hence, keeping the NIT tag in mind and medium-level placement opportunities at a location far away from metro cities, NIT Mizoram can be considered a decent option for education.
