Q:   Is NIT Narula Institute of Technology good for B.Tech in CSE?

A:

It seems that NIT Narula Institute of Technology provides students pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) with an unequal experience. Renowned firms like Microsoft, Amazon, and Juspay come to recruit and provide competitive salary packages up to 51 LPA off-campus; the college has a respectable placement record. Concerns around disparate placement rates and students choosing to forego college internships in favor of greater prospects elsewhere are present while this is happening. The campus has a number of sports facilities, immaculate classrooms, and Wi-Fi, however the catered food's quality and quantity need to be enhanced. Although teachers emphasize completing the curriculum on time and possess knowledge, students' assessments of how consistently they are taught vary.

Absolutely satisfied because of the faculty and good placements.
Placements: About 80 percent of the students from our department were placed last year during campus placements. They got placed in both IT and core companies. Average package offered was around 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are JSW, Accenture, Amazon, Pinnacle Infotech, and many more.
Infrastructure: Wi-fi, labs, classrooms, and a library are the facilities available in the college. Hostels are not so good. There are many rules and regulations. Seniors are very dominating and the juniors are very rude. Hostel security is good. No ragging is allowed. Food and water is bad in terms of quality.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They deliver their knowledge very well. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry ready. 90% students of our department pass in every semester. Questions level are in the range of easy to moderate.

Good placements, good faculty members, infrastructure with greenery, etc.
Placements: Placements are excellent, only good and experienced students get placed. According to my research, 75 to 80% student get placed. The Diploma placements are not very good. In 2023, 80% of the mechanical students got placed with average packages of 4.5 - 5.8 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel is good but it is outside the college campus. The on-site hostel is under construction and hopefully the will be completed by the end of this year. The current hostel is also very good with facilities like free Wi-Fi, tea, gym, indoor games, etc.
Faculty: Faculty is very helpful. They encourage for government jobs and top labelled exams like GATE, JEE etc. Most of the faculty has completed their Ph.Ds from IITs and other government colleges. In our college, exams are very fair and also hard (not hard it's tricky and conceptual based).
Other: Faculty is very helpful, placements anre excellent, green infrastructure etc.

My College Review : An Honest opinion.
Placements: I study in Mechanical Engineering department of this college. Our college is nice and the campus is beautiful filled with greenery. In our field, mainly roles of trainee engineer and Junior engineer are offered for an entry level graduate. This year, till now, more than 70% students are placed ( the placements season is still going on).. Average package offered is around 3- 4LPA. It varies depending upon the student. Pinnacle along with some other core companies visit for recruitments.
Infrastructure: Our college has a hostel facility for those who need it. Although I don't stay in the hostel, I can say the food is average, based on my friends’ opinions. There are labs which are necessary for engineering students. For example, for the mechanical engineering students we have a strength of mechanics lab, manufacturing lab, fluid mechanics lab, thermal engineering lab etc. The classrooms are spacious to provide enough space for 60 students. The library in our college is big. All the semester books as well as books outside the curriculum can be found. There is a separate reading space for group and individual studies.
Faculty: The faculty members of my department are the best. They are easily available whenever the students need them. They are friendly and knowledgeable. They give their best in order to give us valuable information related to our field. The exams system is above average. Questions are standard level. Anyone who studies regularly can easily clear the exams.
Other: We have a technical fest named Kritanj and a cultural fest named Navodaya. All kinds of other festivals are celebrated in our college. The campus is neat and clean and here we can avail free Wi-Fi. There are several clubs like robotics club, art and crafts club, coding club, public speaking club etc.

It is a very good college for students.
Placements: Around 80% of students got placed in our course. The lowest salary package offered was 2 LPA. The highest salary package offered was 3.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Infosys, Tata, Oil Refinery, Infosys, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are very good. Wi-Fi is enabled on our campus. Medical facilities are also available. Playground, classrooms, library, etc., are also available in this college. Hostel facilities are very good, and various meals are provided.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, quality, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent. They are well experienced. The course curriculum is relevant to make students ready for the industry. Semester exams are difficult.

I am not satisfied with the average placement in 2022.
Placements: Only a small percentage of students were placed. The salary package offered is 6.60 LPA. TEGA industry is the top recruiting company. A minimum of 40% of students get an internship. The role offered is as a supervisor. Members of the empaneled candidates organisation (ECO) for the West Bengal College Service Commission, 2018 submitted a deputation against alleged irregularities in the recruitment process of professors.
Infrastructure: Our college has facilities like Wi-Fi, lab, and classrooms.
Faculty: Teachers were good educators with good knowledge. We learned everything that is used in industries. The exam was good and I stood in one of the three positions in our department. The pass percentage was 6.0. The end-semester examination should be held at the end of each semester separately for the theory and practical parts on the dates the college determines.
Other: I chose this course because mechanics is my passion.
