For admission to BTech at NIT Patna, aspirants need to complete the JEE Main application process, conducted by NTA. The steps to be followed for completing application form are:

Step 1: Open the NTA official website. 

Step 2: Click on the “JEE Main 2025 Registration” link. 

Step 3: Fill in the required details and click on the “Submit” button to complete the registration. After the completion of JEE Main registration process, candidates will receive an email and message in their registered email ID and mobile phone number with details of the application form number and password. Candidates will need to keep safe/save the details of registration.

Step 4: After completion of registration, candidates will be redirected to the page for filling out the detailed application form. 

Step 5: Upload scanned images of passport-size photographs and signature along with other required documents.

Step 6: Payment of the application fee.

Step 7: The application form will be automatically submitted after the payment of application fees. 

NIT Patna cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 5 for various categories including the OBC category students. As per the Round 1 cutoff, the closing ranks ranged between 14442 and 46400 under the AII India Quota wherein CSE was the most competitive specialisation. As per NIT Patna cutoff 2024, the Last Round closing rank for Integrated M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) has decreased compared to the previous year. The Last Round closing rank for General AI category students for Integrated M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) was 19527, while for the General Home State category students, the Last Round closing rank was 23853. For BTech CSE, the cutoff was 16697 which decreased to 18206 in 2024.

Candidates who want NIT Patna admissions have to clear entrance exam and also need to fulfill the eligibility criteria. There is no provision for direct admission. So candidates need valid scores of national-level entrance tests. There are in all 10 departments that offer 40+ courses. The flagship course of NIT Patna is BTech which admits students on the basis of JEE Main scores. Hence, candidates cannot get direct admission at NIT Patna. Candidates need to visit the official website of the national-level entrance exams and apply online. Selected candidates can proceed further for counselling, and PI.

According to media reports, out of 703 registered students 560 were placed. The highest package offered was INR 45 LPA. Further, the lowest package stood at INR 6 LPA. The highest count of placements was observed in the Mechanical Engineering branch. Over 103 companies visited the institute campus.
