Good but not satisfied with its hostel and mess, good in terms of education. Need to be improved.

Placements: Placements of my college are average, not good. A very fewer companies visit here though much of students get placed here. My seniors were placed this year. Talking about the percentage, CSE, mechanical and IT have good placement of about 70% to 80%. The highest packages of Rs. 72 Lakhs are given to CSE students, but these are the off-campus placements. The campus placement is Rs. 14 Lakhs. The average package here is Rs. 3 to 4 Lakhs. Here, 30 to 40% students got an internship from the college ...

The last thing is, the college is good if you are hard worker then for you the college is good.

Placements: The college has the good placements. The placements for the mechanical department are awesome. They say about 80% placement for the mechanical and for CS it touches 100. The department of the civil is very good, but the placement for civil is very less as only local prefer for civil here. The placement is not good, but if you belong to Jammu and Kashmir then you will get an easy job here. Mostly, the government job and rest chemical metallurgy. You will be placed if you are working hard.

Review about NIT, Srinagar.

Placements: The placements offered are average & depend on the department. There was outstanding placement in the mechanical, IT and CSE. One of my friend from IT got the package of 14 lacs per annum & senior from CSE background got 75 lacs per annum. Moreover, you can expose yourself to different technical festivals, national & international conferences. You get the opportunity to have internships at renowned institutes.

It has a fantastic weather with well organised facilities.

Placements: The placements for the college students are quite good. Students of CSE, IT, and mechanical got placed easily with the average package of 6-8 lpa. While students of other branches also get placed with some difficulty, because very few companies other than the above three branches visit there. This is the placement scenario in our college.

For me it is a good college as it is one of the old NITS in India.

Placements: Core branches have good placements with good packages especially in mechanical. CSC and IT also have good placements, but packages are low. PSU gives package 10 LPA. The branches like metallurgy and chemical have very poor placement. One must prefer mechanical in NIT Srinagar.

Amazing weather and pretty good facilities.

Placements: The placements offered are pretty good for the branches mechanical (the best campus placements), computer science, electronics, and information technology (most of the students are placed with the moderate annual package). Overall, the average packages are offered to most of the students.

Chemical engineering at NIT, Srinagar.

Placements: The placements offered were good, but not 100%. If you do well then for sure, the placements were offered. The percentage is around 30% for chemical engineering. A CGPA of 6.5 is must for sitting in an interview of different companies visiting the campus. Major recruitment is in coaching institute like aakash, resonance, etc.

Detailed review of my time and experience at NIT, Srinagar.

Placements: Well, the placements are good for most of the branches except for chemical, civil and metallurgy but sometimes they do get placed in PSUs like ONGC and HPCL with a better package than most of us. The placements of our seniors batch were not that good because of the disturbance in the Kashmir valley. But still, most of them get placed at Rs. 3 LPA to Rs. 5 LPA. Till now, about 20% of the students of my branch got placed and up to 50% of the students got placed in CSE and IT. None of the students ...

The hostels are not nice, but the food is good.

Placements: My batch is not yet placed, but the senior batch is placed well. Almost 70% of my branch was placed. The highest package offered was 14 lacs per annum, and the lowest was 3.7 lacs per annum, whereas, the average package was 5 lacs per annum. The companies like JSW, Tata Steel, and Vedanta visited the campus. Software companies like Wipro also visited. Roles like an assistant manager and tech assistant were given to the students. It is a good college to study.

Placements: The placement of NIT, Sri Nagar is good, for 2017 pass outs. There have been more than 80% placements. The highest package offered is about 10 LPA, and the lowest is about 3 LPA to 4 LPA. The college has an active placement cell which is wholly responsible for the placement and internship of the students. The highest package ever offered is in between 70 LPA to 80 LPA by Epic Systems USA. The average placement package is in between 5 LPA to 6 LPA, with companies like IBM, Infosys, L&T and other ...

Everything in the college is just average.

Placements: The placements in the college start in the 7th semester mainly. Few companies offering rolls have also visited. Mainly the companies related to the computer and the IT sectors only come for the placements. These companies demand programming skills from students and take students from all branches. Decent packages are offered to students. More companies are yet to come in the spring session of the college. The companies related to all branches come except the civil branch.

Study in the heaven of earth.

Placements: At NIT, Srinagar if you are from Jammu and Kashmir and pursue in mechanical or electrical engineering stream then you have chances to get placed in PSUs without having good GATE score. At NIT, Srinagar, PSUs shortlist the students by the pointer. For the other branches like CSE, ECE and IT, the placement record is good. You can easily get placed as provided you with the pass aptitude test. For other branches, the placements are low. Our senior students got the maximum package of 72 lakhs per ann...

The best engineering college

Placements: Mechanical, ECE, CSE and IT get 100% placements. Ele, Mett and chemical get approximately 80-85% placements. Civil get placements below 50%. The highest salary given was 72 lakhs to a CSE student. The average is 5 lakhs. Companies use to come the whole year to recruit the students. Very renowned companies, both foreign and Indian, come.

Connectivity problem but otherwise, absolutely a good option

Placements: Placements in NIT Srinagar are quite good. The placement percentage in CSE and IT is 100% at an average package of 5-6 lacs. In other branches also, there are maximum students getting placed. IBM, Samsung, Infosys, L&T, etc companies visited the campus. In 2014, the highest package was 72 lacs by Epic System for CSE. For mechanical, the highest package was around 13-14 lacs. Internship opportunities are totally on your own, as different than other colleges, here in NIT Srinagar, there is a winte...

Perfect atmosphere to study and live in

Placements: To be honest, placements in NIT Srinagar is very poor. For chemical engineering, it is very poor. Though some IT companies do visit, they offer a very low package and allow all the candidates to sit. Getting the internship in chemical engineering is easy. You could easily get internships in ONGC, SAIL, JSW and Tata Steel. Many students from chemical engineering opt for higher studies.

Really good studies, but overall, less placements.

Placements: The placements of this college are somehow average. Metallurgy branch doesn't get good placements. The students of this branch usually prepare for GATE. The curriculum is good but doesn't help in placements. The placements of mechanical and CS/IT branches are good and can be appreciated. Other branches like electrical, civil, etc. have average placements. 50% of the batch gets placed. The highest package is around 8-9 lpa and the lowest is 4 lpa

This college is a good choice for mechanical engineering

Placements: The placements of this college are average. The maximum package is around 8 LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA. The placements of the mechanical branch are far better than others in terms of the package. The average package in mechanical is 6-7 LPA. Branches like metallurgy and civil have very low placements. Sometimes, the overall placements are good, and sometimes they are not. The placements were also affected due to the protest and flood situations.

Naturally beautiful and very good for your future.

Placements: Our senior batch was almost 90% placed. But due to the floods, very few companies arrived at our campus in 2015. Most of the companies which came were from computer science background. No core companies for civil and mechanical engineering. Not a single PSU in 2015 whereas the earlier batch was placed much better than us in PSUs such as IOCL and NTPC. 60% students got placed from our batch. The average salary was a mere 4 lakhs per annum. The highest was 8 lakhs and the minimum was 2.75 lakhs. ...

Satisfied moderately with the college. Think of your branch before selecting the college

Placements: The placements of the college were above average. There were good placements in some branches, while some branches couldn't make it that accounted for which college got an average placement. Mechanical engineering: The placement was good. Almost 60-70% of batch got placed. The highest package offered was 13 LPA and lowest was around 5 LPA. Prominent companies which visited are IOCL, HPCL, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Vedanta, Polaris, Mu Sigma, etc. Electrical engineering: The placement was not ...

NIT Srinagar- a place to study well and enjoy the beauty of nature as well.

Placements: The placement ratio in every stream is good, especially in the mechanical stream. All the senior batches till now have seen a very good placement ratio. Around 70-80% placements took place (the percentage would have been much better but due to backlogs of the students, the ratio suffers quite a lot). A senior (2 year senior than me) was placed with a package of around Rs. 22 lakhs pa in some company and he was from the mechanical branch.
