NITK’s inside as seen by a UG undergrad.
Placements: The placements here are quite amazing. We have around 95% placements here. We are also having a placements cell which will guide us through our placements process. Around 93% placements are done in my department with a median package of 15 LPA (Lacs per annum).
Infrastructure: The EEE department is located on the western side of the campus which is on the other side of NH 66. We have a 24*7 WiFi facility. But the Wi-Fi in the hostels is a bit lower in speed. There are two libraries including a central library and a digital library which are quite good. There is a canteen inside the campus named the food court. There is also a health care facility next to the ground.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified. The semester exams are not very easy, but again, they are manageable. The difficulty level of these exams is a bit lower when compared to JEE exams. Having a deeper understanding of the concepts helps a lot here.

NITK :- A strong college to get your personality enhanced.
Placements: Almost 90% of the students are placed in the course. The lowest package offered was around 15 Lacs and the highest packafe offered is around 42 Lacs. Top recruiting companies are like JIO, NVIDIA, TATA TCS etc. Almost 60-70% students got internships. Top roles offered are acoustic consultant, CAD technician etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities offered are advanced like Wi-Fi availability in whole campus, projectors in each and every classrooms. The facilities in the hostel are moderate. , the quality of food items in the mess and the canteen are good. There are each and every kind of sport available from swimming to snooker. There is a different hospital for the medical facilities.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and mostly are Ph.D. Scholars. The teaching quality hepls the students to applicate the theory in practical life. The course curriculum is relevant. The diificulty of the semester exams are good. The paas percentage is 20% for some subjects and 30% for other subjects.
Other: There are 2 types of fests:- one is cultural fest named INCIDENT nad another is technical fest named ENGINEER. The alumni connectivity of the college is good. The college us surrounded with some great mountains and some beaches. There are many extracurricular activities done by the different clubs.

College life at NIT surathkal.
Placements: Around 95%+ students get placed in our college. The highest package this year from my branch was about 50 LPA and in core electrical, the average salary was about 15 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Nvidia, Tata, TCS, jio and many more. Almost all students got internships if they applied and those who didn't apply decreased the percentage of internships. Some of the students also got a PPO (pre-placement offer ) from the internship company. Control engineer, software, hardware, etc. are some of the major roles offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good here and most of the buildings are new, especially for Masters students. Lots of facilities are provided here by the college, like Wi-Fi, LAN, and a library, which are also very good. There are two libraries here: one is central and the other is an e-library. In the hostel, the food is decent—not too bad, not too good. The sports facilities are good here, especially for indoor sports but for outdoor sports like cricket, they are not good.
Faculty: The faculty is good, mostly except for some of the professors. Faculty are very hilly; they don't want attendance to be 75% mandatory; they just want to learn things. Semester exams are good but as EEE (electrical and electronics) is the most difficult branch, there are lots of labs and stuff.
Other: I chose this course because, as we know here, admission is JEE Main rank-based so according to my rank, I am eligible for this course and I am also interested in electrical engineering. If we focus more on labs than the theory part, this will improve our skills There are many festivals, a big opportunity for the scholars and many other sports activities.

Journey of NITK Surathkal .
Placements: Every year, at least 95% of students get placed in top companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Uber, Amazon, Oracle, etc.; the highest package is 54 LPA, the average package is 18 LPA, and the lowest package is 6 LPA; for the electrical department, the highest package is 51 LPA, the average package is 23 LPA, and the lowest is 13 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in every hostel, in the academic block, and in the library. Separate labs for different departments and separate department blocks are also available. The hostel's infrastructure is good, but the food quality is moderate, with more non-vegetarian options. Separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian blocks are available.
Faculty: Highly experienced professors are there; professors come to class prepared; assignments and projects are provided to students for their active participation; the way of conducting exams is good; the weight of every exam is classified properly; students join different technical clubs; and all.
Other: I joined this college by chance but everything is okay. Everyone knows that electrical engineering is the toughest branch of engineering. The college has several technical clubs for skill development and the NCC for student character development and fitness.

Review by JINTI P KALITA, NITK.
Placements: Almost 98.5 percent of students get placed in the EEE branch. The highest package is 51 Lacs per annum, and the average is 22 Lacs per annum, with the lowest being 9 Lacs per annum and the median at 20 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies include Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Wall Smart Labs, Airtel, Jio, Oracle, Google, Wells Fargo, Cisco, and Citi India. Around 70 percent of students secure internships every year from the EEE branch, and most of them also receive Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). Top roles encompass circuit engineer, software engineer, analyst, etc.
Infrastructure: In the first year, students are allotted triple-sharing rooms with separate beds and tables, along with only one fan in the room. The department and the entire campus are covered by a Wi-Fi range. Labs are well-maintained and well-equipped with all necessary instruments. There are two libraries – a central library and an E-library. Students can borrow books from the central library, and studying is only allowed in the E-library. The mess food is quite good and hygienic. Food courts, night canteens, and tea stalls like Nescafe, SUPRABHA, and Nandini are available on campus. All sports facilities, gym facilities, and a swimming pool are accessible on the campus.
Faculty: Professors are helpful; they are highly qualified from top colleges and universities. They assist students in many project works, and many students undertake their projects under the guidance of specific professors. The teaching quality is good and mostly practical-based. This course is entirely relevant to the circuital industry, making students industry-ready. Passing the semester exams is not too difficult if you are regular to class and study one or two hours daily. The passing percentage varies between 20 to 30 percent based on class performance and the difficulty level of the papers.
Other: I chose this course and college because I aim to maintain a balance between the college tag and the branch. This college has a good placement record, and I am interested in the circuital branch. It offers a balanced mix of theory and lab classes. I would like to see improvements in the first-year curriculum, aligning it more with the needs of the modern world. The college hosts "Incident," the largest cultural fest, and "Engineer," the technical fest. The campus is not too crowded, with around six thousand students residing in the college. Various types of scholarships and fee waivers are available based on economic conditions and categories according to central government rules.

If you are eligible to get a seat in Electronics and Communications, then I would suggest you take it over Electrical and Electronics in NITK. As EC is a better branch in terms of faculty and placements, then EEE in NITK.
