Register and Apply
Interested candidates have to register online with required information. Non-refundable online registration fee is a mandate without which candidate’s application would not be considered for further processing. Candidate has to select preferred course at the time of registration, there is no limit on the maximum number of courses in which the candidate can apply and there is no additional fee for applying in multiple courses. It is a great college with good faculty members and facilities.

Placements: The placement cell is fine but not up to the mark. It is working for the greater good. The progress has already been seen compared with previous years. It will get improved more so that students can get the best opportunities and make great careers.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college has improved a lot. This year, the college has renovated all the things it needed. They painted the walls. There are gardens. The desks and chairs are new. It now appears to be a decent college. The new infrastructure has changed its appearance.

Faculty: Faculty members are great. They are not regular. Teachers have excellent knowledge and skills.

Other: Extracurricular activities are not conducted. They will conduct extracurricular activities in the future as they are improving.

Faculty members here are average.

Placements: There are very few placements. They do not provide any opportunity for the future.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not very good. We don't have Wi-Fi in our college. The canteen food is also not that good. They need to update their ideas. They also need to improve the campus. There are teams for a few sports.

Faculty: Teachers are not that good. They are helpful. Semester exams are tough, and teachers don't give good internal marks. Teachers should be improved.

Other: There are many fights in college. Our college focuses on societies but it doesn't focus on any sort of sports. Events are good, but our course is not that good.

Totally satisfied because of the best faculty, good infrastructure, and average placement in 2024.

Placements: Talking about placement, yes, we have a placement cell. It's typically like other off-campus colleges, but if you develop skills during your graduation, you can really crack it. The median package is approximately 4.85 LPA, and the highest is about 7.5 LPA. In Economics Honours, you are offered jobs like data analyst, financial risk analyst, investment analyst, financial consultant, etc.

Infrastructure: This college doesn't have any hostel, but most private hostels are available just behind the college within walking distance. It has a very clean and well-managed lab, and the classes are quite clean and decent. In my opinion, the canteen is overpriced, and you will get an average taste there. Talking about sports, this college is mainly famous for hockey, but it also has other indoor and outdoor games like volleyball, football, chess, etc. Now, the library is the best, fully air-conditioned, with every book you can imagine and a peaceful environment.

Faculty: The faculty at this college is the best, especially for Economics Honours. They are very knowledgeable and experienced, cooperative, and help you in every possible manner. We have an Economics departmental society that teaches us leadership and organizes many departmental events. Semester exams are moderate and become easier after being taught by such knowledgeable teachers. If anyone focuses on lectures and solves previous year questions, they can easily get a decent CGPA.

Other: I had an interest in economics and maths, which is why I chose this course, and everyone knows that Economics Honours offered by Delhi University is the best. Many students fill this college in their upper preferences because they think it is a North Campus college, but it is actually an off-campus college. Talking about events and fests, they are similar to other off-campus colleges (I would say average). The nearest metro station is Welcome (approximately 700 meters), and there isn't that much crowd in the area, just Shyamlal College students going up and down on the footpath, but everything else is the best.

Our college gives great fun and memories.

Placements: More than 50% of students got placed in different companies. The top recruiting companies are KPMG, Wipro, JSW, Byjus, etc. The top and best roles offered are economist, data analyst, actuarial science in economics, and Indian economic services.

Infrastructure: Our college provides the best and most advanced facilities. There is a huge library for bookworms that is attractive with a spacious computer lab. Classrooms are good and have a good environment. There is no hostel.

Faculty: Teachers are very experienced and have been teaching for a long time. They are very friendly and cooperative with students. We are having online classes for months and all the teachers have been very supportive and encouraging.

Other: I chose this course as economics is a very dynamic and demanding subject, so you can be a world-class professor and earn a very handsome amount of income.

I am impressed with the faculty members and infrastructure of the college.

Placements: There are few placement opportunities in the college. If you are active in societies, then there is a chance, or else there are no chances for placements. In the year 2019, placements are good, but not in the year 2020. There is less chance for an internship. About 15 students from our batch did an internship.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good. The condition of the classrooms is good. There is a library on the first floor. All the books are available in the library. Washrooms and labs are in good condition. I recommend students take admission to this college. I had the best experience here.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are good and knowledgeable. I do not need any coaching for study because the teaching facilities are good. The course curriculum is relevant. It is not too lengthy and not too short. It is also as per future needs. Exams are also done smoothly without any problem.

Other: I heard many rumors before taking admission to this college. But After my experience, I was so impressed by the college because the teachers and facilities are as good as any other DU college. The campus crowd is a little bit bad, but it is not a huge deal. I am highly satisfied with my course and experience.

Q: How can I get admission in Shyam Lal College?

In 2022, Shyam Lal College (like all DU affiliated colleges) adopted CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses. Shyam Lal College admission 2023 for UG courses (as per DU) will be through Common Seat Allocation System of the University of Delhi. But, at first, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:

Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases.

Step 2: Submit Shyam Lal College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard. Here student must select their preferred course and college as the option.

Step 3: The University has released the dates for three DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists which will be out on August 1, August 10 and August 22, 2023, respectively for all categories.

Step 4: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the Shyam Lal College will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification.
