It is the best college, and I would recommend joining it.
Placements: Chemical engineering, food technology, and textile technologies are courses that would fetch good jobs with very high salary packages especially abroad. A good student who works hard could get a job in Petrofac Dubai, or Nike, or Nestle and earn a lot of money while experiencing a good lifestyle abroad. However in India, these jobs, just like all other jobs, are quite often underpaid, and opportunities are less as well. With companies like Infosys, Accenture, and Wipro coming to conduct placements, the average salary package offered is around 3-4 LPA. But some students got placed in other top companies for packages of 9 LPA or 10 LPA. Thus it is not only the course but also the students' interest to work hard that can make him or her excel.
Infrastructure: There is constant Wi-Fi and a very neat and well-equipped library. The subject labs are mostly good as well. The washrooms are not good and suffer from acute water shortage during summers and also lack cleanliness. Cleanliness is the point of concern, kindly clean the college.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members and maths, physics lab, mechanics, etc., are not the best but good indeed. They give all sorts of help to students to help them understand the concepts well. Some of the faculty members are not very serious, and in those subjects, we must study by ourselves. However, in such cases, we do have the library which often has all the books one needs to self-study on a topic or a subject that help us.
Other: Not very good. An elaborate sports meet sure makes any student interested in sports happy but apart from that, any other form of extra-curricular activity is not encouraged. However, students are working hard to create literary and dance/music/drama clubs in the college. They also managed to organised their first edition of the OUCT MUN which was well received. An annual fest does have a few enthusiastic students show-casing their talents at singing and dancing but most of them are in Telugu and need more finesse. Thus in this field the college is still growing.
