The application process for UCEED 2024 is now open. IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2024 exam on January 21, 2024. Here we bring you the institute and category-wise seat intake, and reservation criteria.
There are currently FIVE participating institutes of UCEED 2024 that offer a combined intake of 205 seats to the B.Des program. The five participating institutes are - IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Jabalpur. Admission to the B.Des program will be conducted through a Joint Admission Process, with the allotment of seats to be done on the basis of UCEED 2024 merit rank.

Q: What is the validity of the UCEED 2025 scorecard?
The UCEED 2025 scorecard will be valid for a period of one year from the date of its release. The scorecard will be available for downloaded from March 10, 2025 onward.
The scorecard will contain the Part A marks for all candidates who appeared in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam. However, Part B, total marks, and merit ranks will be released only for candidates who qualify Part A.
Using the UCEED scorecard, the candidate can get admission to B. Des programme offered by participating and result-sharing institutions.
Q: What is UCEED 2025 important dates?
The important dates of UCEED 2025 cover events like the commencement and deadline to fill out the UCEED application, admit card release and exam date, result date, and seat allotment schedule. This means the important dates will cover all the events starting from the release of admission notification to the completion of the admission process. The candidate can keep track of upcoming events by consulting the important dates.

IIT Bombay will reserve seats for Indian nationals belonging to certain categories in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government of India.

The categories and the extent of reservation are given below:
- Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS) – 10% of seats in every course.
- Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) – 27% of seats in every course
- Scheduled Caste (SC) – 15% of seats in every course.
- Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5% of seats in every course.
In addition, there will be horizontal reservation for Persons with Disability (PwD) – 5% seats in each of OPEN, GEN-EWS, OBCNCL, SC, and ST category seats.
Further, note that candidates belonging to the above-reserved categories/sub-categories will be declared as qualified on the basis of a relaxed criterion.

Q: When will the new website be launched for UCEED 2025 exam?
IIT Bombay has launched the new website for the UCEED 2025 exam on October 1, 2024 - https://www.uceed.iitb.ac.in/2025/index.html.
The new website carries information like important dates, information brochure, and the candidate portal. There is also a download section, from where the candidate will be able to download useful resources like previous years question papers and answer keys.
The candidate can get all exam-related updates from the UCEED 2025 admission website.
Q: When will the UCEED 2025 exam be conducted?
IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025 (9 am - 12 noon). The exam will have two mandatory parts. The computer-based Part A and offline-based Part B.
The UCEED 2025 admission portal is uceed.iitb.ac.in. The portal will contain all the important updates about the UCEED 2025 exam, including information brochure, eligibility criteria, syllabus, candidate portal, and useful resources.
Among resources the candidate can download include - previous years question and answer keys.
The online application forms for UCEED 2025 are open from October 1-31, 2024. With late fees, applications will be accepted till November 8, 2024.
Q: When will IIT Bombay release the list of exam centres for UCEED 2024?
IIT Bombay will release the list of exam centres for UCEED 2024 sometime in September 2023. Note that IIT Bombay will only release the list of exam cities. The name of the exam UCEED 2024 centre allocated to be candidate will be mentioned on the admit card. The candidate can check the list of exam cities in the information brochure. In the previous edition of UCEED the exam was administered in 24 cities across India. The candidate had to select their choice of exam city at the time of filling out the application form.
Q: At what time will the UCEED 2025 exam commence?
The UCEED 2025 exam will be held tentatively in the 3rd week of January 2025, from 9 am - 12 noon.
The exam date and timings will be mentioned on the UCEED 2025 admit card. On the day of the exam, the candidate needs to report at the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned in the admit card.
Note that late comers may not be allowed entry inside the exam centre.
The candidate is also urged to carefully go through all the exam-day guidelines for a smooth exam-day experience.
Q: What items am I allowed to carry to the UCEED 2024 exam centre?
On the day of the UCEED 2024 exam, the candidate must bring with them the admit card and a valid photo id proof. Without these documents, the candidate will not be allowed to sit in the exam. To take the exam, the candidate must bring the following items: pens, pencils, sketch pens and colours for the examination. However, the candidate is not allowed to bring any electronic divide inside the exam hall, including mobile phones, smart phones, digital/smart watches, calculators, and tablets. Other items that are on the barred-items list include abacus, slide rule, log books, study material of any type, geometry box, and so on to the examination hall. IIT Bomaby will release the detailed list of forbidden items on its website before the exam.

UCEED Seat Matrix - Gradual increase in Intake Capacity (2021-23)
With every passing year, the seat intake for UCEED has been increasing gradually. For instance, in 2021, the intake was 179 seats. By 2023, this number has increased to 205 seats.

UCEED 2024 Participating Institutes - Admission Process
Candidates seeking admission to the B.Des program at UCEED 2024 participating colleges need to qualify in the exam and must be assigned a merit rank.
The UCEED 2024 exam will be conducted on January 21, 2024 (9 am - 12 noon).
The UCEED 2024 question paper will have two parts - Part A and Part B. Note that Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate meets the UCEED 2024 cut-off marks for Part A.
Also, all candidates who meet the cut-off marks will be assigned a merit rank and will be eligible to participate in UCEED 2024 counseling.
After UCEED 2024 results are declared, shortlisted or merit-list candidates will have to register for counseling.
The UCEED 2024 counseling application form will open on March 14, 2024.
The candidate will have to register and fill in their choice of participating institute in the order of priority. The allotment of seats will be based on the UCEED 2024 merit rank of the candidate and the college option selected.
UCEED 2024 Result-sharing Institutes
The result-sharing institutes of UCEED 2024 will not participate in the Joint Admission Process. Instead, they will conduct their own counseling at the institute level. The counseling application for the result-sharing institutes will open soon after UCEED 2024 results are declared.
Note that the participating institute will only fill some of the UG seats based on UCEED 2024 scores. However, for the remaining seats they may use scores of other entrance exams.

IIT Bombay will relese the updated list of UCEED 2024 exam centres through the information brochure. Note that in the previous edition, the UCEED exam was held in 24 cities in India. Here is the list of exam cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulum, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, and Visakhapatnam.
