Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)

Candidates willing to pursue the B.Com course must appear for the CUET exam. Candidates must fulfill the prescribed CUET and educational qualification eligibility criteria for admission to B.Com course:

Q:   What CUET score is required to get admission in central universities?

A:

Applicants must aim for a high score to gain admission to central universities through CUET. For example, students who want to score 100th percentile in CUET should score between 188-200, while 99th percentile is equivalent to 789-800. Generally scores above 700 are acceptable only in top colleges in India based on previous year analysis. The CUET exam is the only selection criterion for central universities and the exam scores are decisive for securing a place in these prestigious educational institutions. Additionally, the CUET eligibility requirements require candidates to score a minimum of 50% qualifying marks in the class 12 exams for general candidates and 45% for reserved classes.

Q:   How many universities accept CUET score?

A:

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) score is accepted by more than 250 universities (central, state, private and deemed) across India. On the basis of the CUET UG score, candidates are offered admission to UG programme of the participating colleges. Candidates applying for admission to UG programme must ensure to check the course eligibility criteria before filling the application form.

Some of the top CUET accepting universities with NIRF ranking 2024 are:

NameStateNIRF Rank 2024

Jamia Millia IslamiaDelhi3
Banaras Hindu UniversityUttar Pradesh5
University of DelhiDelhi6
Aligarh Muslim UniversityUttar Pradesh8

Q:   What is the selection process for B.A and what is the minimum CUET score required?

A:

The selection process for a B.A. differs from one college to another. While many central universities and colleges have come to accept CUET scores as an admission requirement, many colleges still proceed with their entrance test. To get admission into a particular college, the candidate must go through the college's official website and find out the requirements. The CUET average score previously was required around 700 and more for better colleges, while now that the pattern has changed and students only need to opt for a lesser number of subjects, the cut-off will also depend on the same.

Q:   I scored 724/800 in CUET. Is there any chance to get admission for B.Com (Hons) in North Campus?

A:

Yes, it is expected that DU's CUET passing marks can range between 400 and 500. Some of the top colleges don't accept this range of marks. Top Colleges of DU namely Hindu College, Sri Ram College of Commerce, Miranda House, and Lady Shri Ram College for Women accept scores of around 700 and above in CUET.

CUET is scored out of 800, and the exam comprises multiple-choice questions. The highest cut-off marks for DU admissions typically fall between 650-700. For admission to the B.Com (Hons) course, a score above 700 is considered good. For admission to the English (Hons) course, a score above 700-720 is considered good.

Q:   What is the CUET score required to get admission in DU for a BCom?

A:

Admission to undergraduate programs in Delhi University, including B.Com, is typically based on various criteria, one of which might be the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). CUET serves as a standardized assessment tool to evaluate students' aptitude and suitability for different courses offered by universities across India. Listed below is the CUET score of 2023 (General Creiteria):
