The Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) will announce the recruitment of Engineer Trainees through GATE 2025. The BHEL Recruitment through GATE 2025 will be for two disciplines – Mechanical and Electrical. The application form for BHEL recruitment through GATE 2025 is expected to be released in February 2025. This year, the GATE is being conducted by IIT Roorkee. The exam is scheduled for February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, in two sessions- Morning and Afternoon. 

To appear in BHEL recruitment through GATE 2025, candidates should be Mechanical or Electrical Engineering aspirants and must appear in GATE 2025. Eligibility Criteria for BHEL Recruitment Through GATE 2025

The eligibility criteria of BHEL 2025 recruitment is prescribed by the authority. Candidates can check the requirements set by the conducting authority from below.

Educational Qualification

Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering /Technology or Five years integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree programme in Engineering or Technology in the disciplines of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized Indian University/ Institute.

Q:   How much percentage is required for admission to IIT Kharagpur?

A:

The minimum percentage required for admission to IIT Kharagpur is different for different courses. However, IIT Kharagpur admission is completely entrance-based. Q:   What are passing marks in GATE exam?

A:

Passing marks in GATE exam is different for all 30 papers. The GATE qualifying mark for PSUs recruitment is also different. Candidates appearing in any GATE paper have to obtain the minimum mark in order to be declared qualified for the exam. Only qualified candidates are considered for admission to MTech/MSc/PhD programs and the MHRD scholarship. Candidates can check previous year GATE cutoff for various papers on the Shiksha page or from the GATE official website.

Q:   Who can give GATE exam?

A:

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for admission to Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Technology (MTech), and direct PhD programs in engineering, architecture, and related branches of science.

The eligibility criteria for GATE include passing a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or basic Science from a recognised university, and meeting the specific eligibility criteria for the discipline you wish to pursue. Candidates from India and other countries can apply for GATE, but they must meet the eligibility criteria. The exam is conducted online and is offered in 30 subjects. Age Criteria

  • 27 Years (Candidates born before September 1, 1997, are not eligible to apply)
  • 29 years for candidates having two years’ full-time Post Graduate in Engineering or Business Administration/ Management

Note: Candidates should be in a position to produce their Degree/Final year marks sheets by July 2024 or at the time of the Interview, whichever is earlier.

Age Relaxation

The upper age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to the following categories as given below

BHEL Recruitment Through GATE 2025 – Selection Process

  • Candidates interested in joining BHEL as Engineer Trainee (ET) will have to appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025
  • On the basis of the GATE 2025 marks and requirements, candidates will be shortlisted for Interviews in order of merit in the ratio of 1:10 to the number of vacancies in each discipline and category
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates will be accorded up to 50 % relaxation below the cut-off marks in their respective categories for being shortlisted for interview
  • Candidates must note that GATE 2025 scores will only be valid
  • All the candidates obtaining the same cut off marks category wise shall also be called for interview rounds
  • The final recruitment merit list will be prepared on the basis of 75% weightage to written test i.e. GATE 2025 exam & 25% weightage to Interview round

BHEL Recruitment Through GATE 2025 – Pay Scale

  • Shortlisted candidates will be paid basic pay of Rs 20,600 in the scale of pay of Rs 20,600-46,500 during the training period
  • After successful completion of training, the trainees will be absorbed as Engineers in the scale of pay of Rs 24,900-50,500 with basic pay of Rs 24,900

Other Allowances:

  • Dearness Allowance - Currently 126.9% of basic pay
  • Perks and other Allowances - 46% of basic pay and
  • benefits such as Leave, Medical facilities for self and dependent family members, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Performance Related Pay, Uniform, Subsidized Canteen Facilities, Company’s accommodation or HRA etc. will be admissible as per Company Rules as applicable from time to time
  • The CTC will be Rs 8 lakhs (approximately) per annum for Engineer Trainees (ETs) 

BHEL Recruitment Through GATE 2025 – Service Agreement Bond

Selected candidates will have to execute a service agreement bond of Rs 2,00,000 to serve the Company (or any Government Department or Undertaking at the discretion of the Company) for a period of three years after successful completion of training.

Q:   Who is eligible for M.Tech at IIT Kharagpur?

A:

To be eligible for IIT Kharagpur's Joint MTech/MCP PhD programme, candidates need a BE/BTech/BArch degree or a master's in Science/Arts with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST/PwD). Qualifications from exams by recognised professional societies are also accepted. Applicants must have a valid GATE score relevant to their qualifying discipline, and in the absence of a specific GATE paper, XE/XL/XH papers can be considered. NET-qualified candidates with a fellowship in MA/MSc Economics/Sociology/Geography, having studied Mathematics/Statistics, are eligible for MCP-PhD. A master's in Science requires a 60% or above aggregate (55% for Arts/Social Science subjects). GATE is the accepted entrance exam.

Q:   For how many papers can one student apply in GATE 2025?

A:

Students applying for GATE 2025 can opt for two subject papers from the prescribed set of combinations. Earlier, the candidates could apply to appear in only one subject. As a candidate can appear in only two papers (only approved set) of the 30 papers for which GATE 2025 will be conducted, they must carefully choose the papers they wish to write. A candidate is expected to appear in the papers appropriate to the discipline of his or her qualifying degree. However, he or she is free to choose any paper according to his or her admission plan, keeping in mind the GATE eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he or she wishes to seek admission. Q:   Can I get into IIT Kharagpur without JEE?

A:

The answer is both yes and no. It is possible to get admission in any IIT without JEE, but in other courses than BTech. A student can enter into IITs via IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test) for MSc, GATE for MTech, via UCEED and CEED for BDes and MDes and via CAT for MBA. So, if the dream is just to enter into IITs, there are various courses one can pursue except for BTech. However, admission to IIT Kharahpur for the flagship BTech programme is subject to a valid score in JEE Main and JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA Counselling. Q:   What are the eligibility criteria for COAP?

A:
It is advised that the candidates check the eligibility criteria before COAP 2023 registration. Applications from candidates who do not meet the eligibility conditions are liable to be rejected. Therefore, all candidates must fulfil all the eligibility conditions. Q:   Can I get admission at IIT Kharagpur without JEE?

A:

The answer is no. It is possible to get admission in any IIT with JEE Main score provided a student also qualifies the JEE Advanced exam. As per the official details of IIT Kharagpur admission, admission to IIT KGP fBTech programme is subject to a valid score in JEE Main and JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA Counselling. Additionally, students must have also completed their Class 12 with 75% aggregate (for the General category).

However, there are other courses offered at IIT Kharagpur which does not require a student to have a score in JEE Advanced, such as LLM, PhD and MBA. If the dream is just to study at IIT Kharagpur, students can also opt for other courses basis their current eligibility and course requirements.
