CRIS Recruitment through GATE happens yearly to select deserving candidates for the available vacancies. The board is expected to release the notification of CRIS recruitment through gate 2025 soon. Candidates who qualified for GATE 2025 in computer science discipline were eligible to fill out the application form. THE CRIS GATE recruitment application form is expected to be released in July or August 2025. Candidates can check the complete details below. 

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, taken by Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) graduates. Candidates seeking admission to MTech programme in IIT, NIT or any other Government institute can apply for the exam. Apart from this, GATE-qualified candidates can apply for PSU jobs if they meet the required conditions.

Eligibility Criteria for CRIS GATE Recruitment

Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before applying through GATE for CRIS jobs. The concerned authority will reject the applications of the non-eligible applicants. CRIS eligibility criteria for GATE 2025 vary from post to post. Check the required qualifications for a recently released job in the table below.

Q:   For how many papers can one student apply in GATE 2025?

A:

Students applying for GATE 2025 can opt for two subject papers from the prescribed set of combinations. Earlier, the candidates could apply to appear in only one subject. As a candidate can appear in only two papers (only approved set) of the 30 papers for which GATE 2025 will be conducted, they must carefully choose the papers they wish to write. A candidate is expected to appear in the papers appropriate to the discipline of his or her qualifying degree. However, he or she is free to choose any paper according to his or her admission plan, keeping in mind the GATE eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he or she wishes to seek admission. For more details regarding the admission criteria at any particular institute, the candidate is advised to refer to the websites of that institute. Those candidates opting for two paper combinations for GATE 2025 have a primary choice of paper as their default choice. The second choice of paper has to be chosen from the allowed combinations. Q:   What are passing marks in GATE exam?

A:

Passing marks in GATE exam is different for all 30 papers. The GATE qualifying mark for PSUs recruitment is also different. Candidates appearing in any GATE paper have to obtain the minimum mark in order to be declared qualified for the exam. Only qualified candidates are considered for admission to MTech/MSc/PhD programs and the MHRD scholarship. Q:   Who can give GATE exam?

A:

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for admission to Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Technology (MTech), and direct PhD programs in engineering, architecture, and related branches of science.

The eligibility criteria for GATE include passing a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or basic Science from a recognised university, and meeting the specific eligibility criteria for the discipline you wish to pursue. Candidates from India and other countries can apply for GATE, but they must meet the eligibility criteria. The exam is conducted online and is offered in 30 subjects.   • Visit the official website.
  • Accept the terms & conditions and then enter e-mail id and mobile number for CRIS registration.
  • After that, the login details and password will be shared on the registered e-mail id and mobile number.
  • Then, fill out the application form, which requires a candidate to enter Personal Details, Qualification Details, Eligibility Details, and GATE score card details.
  • In the next step, candidates have to upload a photograph and signature in 80 kb in jpg/jpeg format and the required certificates in 500 kb in PDF/JPG/JPEG format only.
  • The application fee can be paid through Internet Banking /Debit Card/Credit Card only from the State Bank of India (SBI) website's State Bank Collect system.

Mode of selection of CRIS Recruitment through GATE

After qualifying for the GATE cutoff, a candidate will be eligible to participate in the recruitment process. The selection procedure comprises the following steps –

  • Merit list preparation
  • Medical Fitness test
  • Appointment

Merit List Preparation

Candidates' GATE scorecards will be considered for preparing the merit list. Then, a candidate with a higher All India Rank will be placed higher on the merit list.

Medical Fitness Test

Candidates whose names are on the merit list will be called for the medical fitness test. Passing the medical examination as per CRIS rules is important.

Appointment

The finally selected candidates will be appointed at any of the Regional Offices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Secunderabad (Hyderabad), or any project site in India.

Q:   What are the eligibility criteria for COAP?

A:
It is advised that the candidates check the eligibility criteria before COAP 2023 registration. Applications from candidates who do not meet the eligibility conditions are liable to be rejected. Therefore, all candidates must fulfil all the eligibility conditions. Check below for the eligibility criteria: - The candidate must be an Indian national. - Candidates must have a valid GATE score, I. e. , be qualified in 2023/2022/2021. - In the case of more than one valid scorecard, candidates must provide the scorecard with a better score or rank. - Candidates must check the eligibility criteria of the respective institute before applying. Q:   How many GATE exam centres can a candidate choose?

A:

A candidate can choose at least three exam cities while filling the GATE application form. The conducting authorities will conduct the GATE exam at around 200 exam centres from the issued list of GATE exam centres. Q:   Who is eligible for GATE exam?

A:

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is the entrance exam for admission to postgraduate courses at IITs, NITs, IIITs in Engineering, Science and other allied subjects. The detailed eligibility criteria of GATE are given below:

  • Candidates who are currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree programme or who have completed any government approved degree programme in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Architecture/ Humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2024.
  • Candidates who possess certification from any of the below list professional societies are also eligible to apply for GATE however, they must ensure that those examinations are approved by MoE/AICTE/UGC/ UPSC as being equivalent to B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch./ B.Planning, etc. 
    • The Institution of Engineers (India) (IE)
    • The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
    • The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE)
    • The Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI)
    • The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, including Polymer and Environmental Group (IIChE)
    • The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM)
    • The Indian Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIIE)
  • Candidates who have obtained/are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India are also eligible. All such candidates must be currently in the 3rd or higher years or must have completed their Bachelor’s degree (of at least three years duration) in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Architecture/ Humanities. 
  • Candidates pursuing or in possession of any higher degree will be allowed to appear for GATE 2024.
  • Candidates must note that there is no age limit to apply for GATE.

Q:   Can I appear for GATE after doing Diploma in civil engineering?

A:

Hi Ramesh, GATE is used for applying to M.Tech or ME. After Diploma, you have to apply for engineering (BE). After successful completion of your degree, you can go for M.Tech. So, for applying M.Tech, you have to give entrance exam called GATE. You have to qualify for getting good college. Regards.
