GATE CS PYQs: Computer Science and Information Technology paper is one of the most important and popular papers in the GATE 2025 exam.  The GATE CS1 paper was  held on February 1, 2025 (9:30 to 12:30 pm), and the CS2 paper was conducted on February 1, 2025, in the afternoon session (2:30 pm to 5:30 pm). IIT Roorkee has revised the last date of the GATE 2025 application form. The last date to submit the application form with regular fees was October 3, 2024, and October 11, 2024 (with late fees). Candidates can make the payment of the GATE application fee via through online banking/credit card/debit card/UPI.

IIT Roorkee has released GATE 2025 exam dates on its official website. The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted on 1,2,15 and 16 February 2025. GATE 2025 exam will be conducted in multiple days and multiple shifts for all 30 papers.

Q:   For how many papers can one student apply in GATE 2025?

A:

Students applying for GATE 2025 can opt for two subject papers from the prescribed set of combinations. Earlier, the candidates could apply to appear in only one subject. As a candidate can appear in only two papers (only approved set) of the 30 papers for which GATE 2025 will be conducted, they must carefully choose the papers they wish to write. A candidate is expected to appear in the papers appropriate to the discipline of his or her qualifying degree. However, he or she is free to choose any paper according to his or her admission plan, keeping in mind the GATE eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he or she wishes to seek admission. For more details regarding the admission criteria at any particular institute, the candidate is advised to refer to the websites of that institute. Those candidates opting for two paper combinations for GATE 2025 have a primary choice of paper as their default choice. The second choice of paper has to be chosen from the allowed combinations. Q:   Is it necessary for a candidate to attempt all questions in GATE?

A:

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is a national-level examination conducted for Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (M.Tech), and direct Ph.D. admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other institutes/universities across India.

The GATE paper consists of a total of 65 questions. Check below for the GATE exam pattern. - The GATE Questions paper consists of two sections, namely General Aptitude (GA) (15 marks) and the subject-specific GATE paper (85 marks). - The General Aptitude (GA) section consists of 10 questions. 1 to 5 questions are worth 1 mark each, and the rest, 6 to 10, are worth 2 marks each. - The GATE paper subject-specific section consists of 55 questions, of which 1 to 25 are of 1 mark each and questions from 26 to 55 are of 2 marks each. - Here to be noted that, questions that are not attempted will result in zero marks. Therefore, wrong answers to multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will result in negative marking. For questions of the numerical answer type, there is no negative marking. Also, for MCQ questions, a wrong answer will result in a deduction of 1/3 mark for a 1-mark question and 2/3 mark for a 2-mark question. Q:   How many questions are asked form GATE General Aptitude section?

A:

In GATE 2025 Exam, 10 questions will be asked form General Aptitude section, Candiates will have 5 questions of 2 marks each, and 5 questions of 1 mark each. Intotal there will be 10 question for 15 marks.
