JEE Advanced 2024 Rank List - Criteria for Inclusion in Rank List

To be eligible for ranking and inclusion in the common rank list of JEE Advanced 2024, candidates must have achieved the below marks in each subject and the overall paper.

Minimum percentage of JEE Advanced 2024 marks needed for inclusion in Rank List:

Q:   What will happen without ST caste validity Certificate at the time of JoSAA document verification?

A:
If you belong to the ST category and do not have a valid caste Certificate at the time of JoSAA document verification, you may face some challenges in the admission process. The ST category Certificate is one of the essential documents required for the admission process, and not having a valid Certificate may lead to the rejection of your admission application. In case you do not have the ST caste validity Certificate at the time of JoSAA document verification, you may be given a provisional admission subject to the condition that you provide the Certificate at a later date. However, the admission will only be confirmed after you submit the valid Certificate. It is advisable to obtain the ST caste validity Certificate well in advance before the admission process to avoid any last-minute hassles. You can apply for the Certificate at the designated authorities in your state, and the process may take some time, so it is recommended to initiate the process as early as possible.

Q:   Should I take a drop for JEE Advanced?

A:
If you feel that you are not fully prepared for JEE Advanced and need more time to study and improve your skills, then taking a drop and preparing again can be a good option. This will give you more time to focus on your weaknesses, take additional coaching classes or online courses, and practice solving more problems. On the other hand, if you feel that you have prepared well and are confident about your abilities, then appearing for JEE Advanced this year may be the right decision for you. It is important to weigh the benefits and risks of each option and consider factors such as your academic goals, financial situation, and personal circumstances. Ultimately, the decision to take a drop or appear for JEE Advanced should be based on your individual situation and goals, and it is advisable to seek guidance from a trusted mentor or advisory to help you make an informed decision.

Q:   What is the JEE Advanced tie breaking policy?

A:

If the JEE Advanced aggregate marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks: Step 1: Candidates having higher positive marks will be awarded higher rank. If the tie breaking criterion at Step 1 fails to break the tie, then the following criterion at Step 2 will be followed. Step 2: Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics. If this does not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Physics. If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.

Q:   How can I check JoSAA 2025 seat allocation dates?

A:
  • Keep an eye on the "News & Events" section of the JoSAA website. They will announce the important dates, including the schedule for the seat allocation process, once the official notification regarding JoSAA 2025 is released (expected in June 2025).
  • You can refer to the previous year's JoSAA schedule for reference. For instance, in 2024, the seat allocation rounds typically happened between the first week of June and the second week of July.
  • Trustworthy educational portals and websites often compile important exam dates and schedules. These websites usually update the information based on official announcements.

Q:   Which IIT will conduct JEE Advanced 2025, 2026, 2027?

A:

JEE Advanced exam is organized by one of the seven zonal IITs, namely IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati, on a round-robin rotation pattern. Following the pattern, it is expected that JEE Advanced 2025 will be condicted by IIT Kanpur, in 2026 IIT Roorkee will hold the exam and in 2027 IIT Delhi will be the organising institute.
