The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main July session Day 1 was concluded today (July 20, 2021). The candidates who have attempted the paper reviewed it as moderate, with few questions being difficult to attempt. Check JEE Main 2021 exam analysis below.
JEE Main 2021 session 3 first day exam was held in two sessions -- morning (9 am- noon) and afternoon (3-6 pm). As per the students' reaction, most of the questions in the chemistry section were based on NCERT and the overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate.

The candidates who appeared for the morning session found maths and chemistry moderately difficult, while physics was reviewed as easy. A student who had appeared in the second shift said, “The overall difficulty level was moderate. There were 5-6 questions from modern physics, two questions from current electricity and 2-3 questions from thermodynamics. Maths section was comparatively tough and questions were lenthy. Also, organic and inorganic chemistry was given more weightage as compared to physical chemistry. ”
Another student said, “Most questions in chemsitry section were from NCERT books. In physics section also, most of the questions were directly based on the NCERT textbook.”
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the number of cities with JEE Main exam centres has been increased from 232 to 334 and the number of exam centres in each shift has increased from 660 to 828.
The first and second sessions were conducted in February and March, respectively. The third session is being held on July 20, 22, 25 & 27 and the fourth session will be held on August 26, 27 & 31 and September 1 & 2, 2021.
Joint Entrance Exam (Main) is the engineering entrance exam for admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. JEE Main exam is also the qualifying exam for the JEE Advanced, the only admission test for the IITs. This year, IIT Kharagpur will conduct the JEE Advanced.
