To help candidates prepare effectively for the JEE Main 2024 exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has made available JEE Main mock test on the NTA's website . Candidates can take JEE Main mock test online and download the previous years offline.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main mock test 2024 in online mode at nta.ac.in. Direct link for appearing in JEE Main 2024 mock test is given below. Candidates can take the mock test online or download the same and take it offline from the comfort of their homes. The JEE Main mock test is available for both Paper 1 and 2 in three languages, including English, Hindi and Gujarati. Candidates can access the online JEE Main mock test 2024 directly without creating a login account. Candidates have to choose the exam and select the paper to take JEE Main mock test.

Taking mock tests will to help JEE Main aspirants understand the methodology of Computer-Based Tests (CBTs) adopted by the NTA. There are various previous years JEE Main question papers available from different shifts for online JEE Main mock tests. Through these JEE Main previous question papers, candidates will be able to know difficulty level of questions, and topic wise weightage of questions in JEE Main.

The online mock test for JEE Main aspirants is available on its official website. To take these mock tests on the official website of the agency, candidates will be required to log in to the NTA website with their login credentials.

Q:   How many mock tests should I take before appearing for JEE Main 2025?

A:
During the preparation phase, candidates should solve at least one mock test every week. Candidates are advised to solve at least 10 to 15 mock tests in the last one month before appearing for the real examination. By solving the JEE Main mock test you can get a better understanding of how to manage time better in solving multiple-choice questions. Also, you will get an idea about the level of difficulty, type of questions, weightage of sections, etc. This will help you in preparing well for the exam.

Q:   Should I opt for sectional or full-length mock test for JEE Main?

A:
During the preparation period of JEE Main sectional mock tests are useful. The sectional mock tests have to be taken after completing the chapter of any subject. This would help you to gauge your preparation level and also help in understanding the areas of improvement. Once the entire JEE Main syllabus is completed, you should take full-length mock tests to assess the entire preparation. Generally, students tend to take the JEE Main mock tests three to four months prior to the exam. Hence, when it comes to the final stage of preparation, ideally students should take full-length mock tests. However, if a student wants to revise a particular section or subject, then it is advisable that they take sectional mock tests or revision or practice purpose.

Q:   What should be the ideal time and method to take JEE Main mock tests?

Candidates must ensure that they take the JEE Main mock test in a time bound manner within a simulated environment. Hence, ideally students should take mock test in the exam timing, from 9 am to 12 noon or 3 PM to 6 PM, without any break. This would help them to adjust to the exam taking environment. It must also be ensured that they take the test in a quite environment either alone or with a group of fellow JEE Main aspirants. Creating a simulated test-taking experience is important. While a number of students take the JEE Main mock tests at coaching institutes, some prefer to take it at their home. Irrespective of the location, the above factors must be followed to get the best out of the JEE Main mock test.

Q:   What should be the frequency of taking JEE Main mock tests?

A:
The frequency of taking JEE Main mock test would vary based on the number of days left for the test. When there are three to four months left for the exam, students should take mock tests twice a week and dedicate the rest of the days for analysis and preparation. In the last month before JEE Main the frequency of taking mock tests would increase. They are expected to take a full-length mock test every alternate day. After taking mock tests students should get it analyzed by their mentors to improve their performance and to create the exam taking strategy.

Navigating to a question in JEE Main 2024 Mock Test

Navigation to a question simply means that how a student will move to the next question from the current one. By following the below instructions, students can navigate to a question in the online JEE Main question paper:

  • Click on the question number in the “Question Palette” at the right of the screen to go to a question directly. Candidates must note that using this option will NOT save the answer to the current question
  • By clicking on “Save & Next”, the answer for the current question will be saved and students will be directed to the next question
  • By clicking on “Mark for Review & Next” will save the answer to the current question for review and direct the student to the next question

JEE Main 2024 Mock Test: Answering a Question

Candidates can check the procedure to answer multiple-choice questions in the JEE Main mock test below:

  1. To select an answer, click on the button of one of the options
  2. To deselect the chosen answer, click on the button of the chosen option again or click on the “Clear” button
  3. To change the chosen answer, click on the button of another option
  4. To save an answer, candidates must click on the “Save & Next” button
  5. To mark the question for review, click on the “Mark for Review & Next” button
  6. To change the option of an already answered question, first, select that question and then follow the same procedure mentioned above in point 3

JEE Main Test Practice Centres

National Testing Agency (NTA) has established a network of Test Practice Centres spread all over India to help the students aspiring to appear in examinations. The students can practice and train themselves before the examination for the “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode of examinations.

Step-1: Visit the official website of NTA (nta.ac.in) and click on the "Mock Test Registration”

Step-2: Next, candidates will have to register using their email or mobile number and password. Click on "Log In"

Step-3: Choose preferred date of mock test

Step-4: Enter the pin code/centre where you want to appear for the mock test

Step-5: Candidates will have to select their preferred test centres from the list of options and click on the “Confirm Booking” button.
