BITSAT 2025 exam dates are expected to be released soon by the concerned authorities. To participate in the examination and admission process, the candidates will have to fill out and submit the BITSAT 2025 application form online at bitsadmission.com. The authorities will not accept registration requests after the BITSAT 2025 application form last date, which will be announced soon. BITSAT 2025 will be held in two sessions as a computer-based test. Before BITSAT 2025 registration, the candidates are advised to check the official eligibility criteria. All candidates must qualify BITSAT 2025 to be eligible for admission into the BE courses the participating campuses offer. The BITSAT 2025 slot booking facility will be open separately for the different exam sessions. The moderated scores and ranks obtained in the entrance exam will be announced through the BITSAT 2025 result/scorecard. No. The candidates will not be required to apply separately for admissions into the various campuses of BITS. Q:   What are the BITSAT admit list and waitlist?

During the admission process, the authorities will release the BITSAT admit list and wait list online. The official BITSAT admit and wait list will be released as Iterations. BITSAT admit list will consist of the names of the candidates who have cleared the minimum cut off criteria for admission. On the other hand, the BITSAT wait list will consist of the names of all the candidates who will be called in for admission in the next round, in case a candidate withdraws his/her seat.

What is BITSAT?

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is an entrance exam conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses (BE) at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Admissions are offered annually to the candidates into BE, BPharm and MSc programmes after qualifying for the admission test. The entrance exam is conducted online and around 3 lakh students apply for it every year. 

Q:   Is BITSAT harder than JEE Mains examination?

A:
Hello, BITSAT is not that tough when compared to the difficulty of JEE Mains. But scoring more is a little difficult in BITSAT as you need to solve more problems. The syllabus would be the same and the questions would be easy to solve if you have proper concept knowledge and solving skills. So, you need to practice more and more problems and try to improve your speed and accuracy in calculations. Try to score above 300 which may ensure you a seat at any of the campuses of BITS.

Q:   What is a good score for different campuses of BITS Pilani?

For the BITS Pilani campus, candidates have to score marks within 270 to 340 to get admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) course. For Hyderabad and Goa campuses, candidates scores should be within 240 to 310 for admission to BE programme. Candidates are advised to check the previous year cutoffs to obtain a general idea about the scores they might need to secure for admission into their preferred course and campus. However, the BITSAT cutoff for admissions depends on various factors related to the entrance examination and is susceptible to change.

Q:   Will BITSAT be held online?

A:

Yes. BITSAT will be held online i.e., as a computer-based test. The authorities will not conduct any other mode of examination. As per the BITSAT exam pattern, the candidates will have to select the correct option for the respective question from the available options. Candidates will have to be present at the examination centre, which will be allotted as per the preferences submitted in the BITSAT application form. Q:   What are the slot timings for BITSAT?

BITSAT will be conducted as a computer-based test at various slots. The authorities are expected to conduct BITSAT 2025 in two sessions. For each day of the examination, there will be two slots - Morning Session (9 AM to 12 Noon) and Afternoon Session (2 PM to 5 PM). During the BITSAT slot booking process, the candidates will be able to book their preferred slots from the available ones. The selection of slot timings can be done only from the morning and afternoon session. No other slot timings will be available.

Q:   How many seats are there on different campuses of BITS Pilani under BE course?

A:

The authorities are yet to release the official number of seats offered for admissions through the BITSAT. However, there is estimated to be around 3,000 seats in the different campuses of BITS Pilani under BE course. The distribution seats are expected to be Birla Institute of Technology Pilani (1,040 seats), Birla Institute of Technology Hyderabad (1,080 seats) and Birla Institute of Technology Goa (850 seats). In case of any updates in the number of available seats for admission, the authorities will announce it online at the official website.

Q:   What is the meaning of Iteration rounds in BITSAT counselling?

A:

In the BITSAT counselling, iteration rounds are equivalent to the seat allotment rounds. During every iteration, the authorities will announce the BITSAT seat allotment results for the qualified and registered candidates. Selection of candidates for the iterations are done based on their rank and the preferences that they submit during the counselling registration process. After every BITSAT iteration, the candidates will be informed about their allotted B.Tech course and campus allotted and details to confirm their admission.

BITSAT 2025 Application Form

BITSAT 2025 application form will be released online at bitsadmission.com. Candidates will have to complete the BITSAT 2025 registration and application form-filling process before the final date, which will be announced soon. After the final date, the authorities will not accept any registration requests. The given steps can be followed to fill out the application form of BITSAT 2025.

  • Registration: First, the candidates will have to go to bitsadmission.com and click on the official registration link. For registration, the candidates will have to provide their valid email address and mobile number.
  • Filling of the application form: After the registration process is completed, the candidates will have to fill out the BITSAT 2025 application form with their personal, contact and academic information. All of the details have to be valid. Next, the candidates will have to select three exam centres in the order of preference.
  • Uploading of documents: In the next step, the candidates will have to upload scanned images of photographs and signatures in the prescribed format. If the uploaded documents are not per the official specifications, they will not be accepted.
  • Payment of application fee: Finally the candidates will have to pay the BITSAT 2025 application fee. The payment of the fee has to be done online i.e., through PayU Money, PayTM, or ICICI Payment Gateway. The authorities will not accept any other mode of payment.
  • Submission of the form: After fee payment, the candidates will have to submit their BITSAT application form. They are required to check all the details and documents before final submission.

BITSAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The official BITSAT 2025 eligibility criteria will be released online. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria carefully since if they are not able to meet the criteria, they will disqualified from the admission process.

For admission to any of the First Degree programmes of BITS except BPharm (Hons):  

  • The candidates should have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English.
  • Should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.

For admission to BPharm (Hons):   

  • Should have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCMB in Class 12 can also apply for the Pharmacy programme at BITS campuses.
  • The candidates should have obtained a minimum aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects.

Additional Important Eligibility Criteria:

  • Only students who are appearing for the 12th standard examination in 2025 or have passed in 2022 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT 2025. Students who have passed their Class 12 examination in 2021 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT 2025.
  • If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in the 12th standard or its equivalent, only his/her latest performance will be considered, provided this attempt had been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
  • Candidates who are presently studying in any of the BITS campuses will not be eligible to appear for BITSAT 2025.
  • Admissions will be made purely on a merit basis. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT 2025. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the Class 12 board exam, as mentioned above.

Q:   When will BITSAT 2025 application form process begin?

A:

Candidates will have to fill out and submit the application form of BITSAT 2025 before the final date. The authorities will not accept applications after the last date. Yes. Candidates who are appearing for the 12th standard qualifying entrance examination on the admission year will be considered eligible for admissions through BITSAT. However, the candidates will be required to meet the basic BITSAT eligibility criteria that will be prepared and released by the authorities. If the candidates are allotted, then they will be required to show their qualification and other necessary documents at the time of verification. Q:   Will there be any chance to correct the mistakes in the BITSAT application form?

Yes, the registered candidates will be given the chance to edit/correct the information submitted in the BITSAT applicaiton form. BITSAT 2024 Exam Pattern

BITSAT 2025 exam pattern will be available soon. Candidates are advised to check the details regarding the BITSAT exam pattern 2025 to know how the entrance examination will be conducted. Having familiarity with the exam pattern will allow the candidates to perform well in the entrance examination. As per the BITSAT exam pattern, the examination will be held online i.e., as a computer-based test. There will be four sections and a total of 130 questions in the examination paper. The duration of the examination is 3 hours and 3 marks will be allotted for every correct answer. One mark will be deducted for every wrong response.

Q:   What is the marking scheme of BITSAT?

A:

BITS Pilani will soon announce the marking scheme along with the BITSAT 2025 exam pattern. For every correct answer, the candidates will be awarded 3 marks. However, if the candidate marks the wrong answer, then 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions. Before the examination, the candidates are advised to carefully check the marking scheme, so that they are aware of how they will be marked for their answers. Since there is negative marking, the candidates are advised to leave the questions unattempted, if they are not sure of the answers.

Q:   What will be the medium of the BITSAT question paper?

The authorities will conduct BITSAT as a computer-based test. As per the official BITSAT exam pattern, the entrance examination will be held in English medium only. Q:   How are the questions divided in the BITSAT paper?

Candidates will have to answer 130 multiple-choice questions in the BITSAT paper. While the Physics and Chemistry sections will have 30 questions each, the Mathematics/Biology section will have 40 questions. BITSAT 2025 Syllabus

BITSAT 2025 Slot Booking

BITSAT 2025 slot booking will be available online. To access the BITSAT slot booking 2025 facility, the registered candidates will have to log in using their application number and password. Using the BITSAT slot booking facility, the candidates will be able to book their preferred examination date and time. BITSAT 2025 Admit Card

BITSAT 2025 hall ticket will be released online. After the slot booking process, the candidates will be able to access and download the BITSAT hall ticket 2025 by logging in using the required credentials. No other mode will be used to release the admit card. Some of the important information that will be present in the BITSAT admit card 2025 are the allotted exam centre address, date, time, guidelines and more. Yes. The authorities have prepared certain tie-breaking rules for situations where two or more candidates secure the same scores in the entrance examination. Firstly, the tie will be broken by allotting the higher rank to the candidate who has secured higher marks in Mathematics/Biology. If the tie still exists, then the candidate's score in Physics will be considered for allotment of higher rank. If the tie still exists, then the candidate's score in Chemistry will be considered. Finally, if the tie still persists, then the score obtained in the 12th standard qualifying examination will be considered for allotment of higher rank.

BITSAT 2025 Counselling

BITSAT 2025 counselling process will be held online. Qualified candidates will have to participate in the BITSAT counselling 2025 process for admission into the BE courses offered by the participating campuses. During the BITSAT 2025 counselling registration, the candidates will have to submit their 12th standard marks and course and campus preferences. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences, category and seat availability. BITSAT 2024 seat allotment will be announced as iterations. The authorities will release the admit and waitlist after each round of BITSAT counselling 2025. Direct admissions will be available for those students who have obtained the first rank in their respective State/Central board exams, irrespective of their BITSAT 2025 Score.

Q:   Are class 12 board toppers allowed to participate directly in the BITSAT counselling?

A:

Yes. 12th standard national and state board toppers who meet the basic eligibility criteria will be eligible to participate diretly in the BITSAT counselling. These candidates will be able to apply for direct admissions into the BE courses offered by the campuses of BITS. They will not be required to appear for BITSAT and admissions will be done based on their 12th standard qualifying entrance examination scores.

BITS RMIT 2025 Admission Process

BITS Pilani and RMIT University, Melbourne are offering eligible candidates an opportunity to obtain dual undergraduate degrees from both Universities. Through the BITS RMIT programme, candidates with a valid BITSAT score can apply and gain the opportunity to enrol concurrently into both BITS Pilani and RMIT. The students will study mainly BITS subjects, but will also gain exposure to RMIT subjects. Students will study the first half of their degree at BITS Pilani and the second half at RMIT University, Melbourne. However, in the first two years of study, the students will be flown to Melbourne for a two-week introductory course.

For admissions into the BITS Pilani and RMIT University, the candidates will have to attempt BITSAT 2025 and secure a good score. Those candidates who have applied for the programme and achieved the preferred cutoff will be contacted by the University to complete the admission process.

Q:   If I meet the BITSAT cutoff, will I get admission?

A:

No. The candidates are not guaranteed admissions even if they meet the BITSAT cutoff. Various other factors are taken into consideration during the allotment process such as preferences, seat availability, category, etc. BITSAT cutoff is a condition among other factors for the allotment of the candidates. However, if the candidates meet the BITSAT cutoff, then they will have higher chances of admission into their preferred campus and course. Candidates are advised to check the previous years' cutoff trends before filling out their preferences.

Q:   Does any private college (except BITS) accept a BITSAT score for B.Tech admission?

A:

No. BITSAT is held to select candidates for admissions into the participating campuses - Goa, Pilani and Hyderabad. The obtained scores in the entrance examination will be used only for admissions into these institutes. No other colleges will accept BITSAT scores for admissions. After qualifying BITSAT, the candidates will have to participate in the counselling process for admissions into the undergraduate engineering courses offered by the Goa, Pilani or Hyderabad campus. Candidates are advised to check the admission criteria carefully before applying for BITSAT.

Q:   I have taken Physics Chemistry and Biology in 10+2. Am I Eligible to Apply for BITSAT?

A:

Yes. The candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology for their 10+2th standard qualifying examination will be eligible to apply for BITSAT. However, these candidates will only be eligible for B.Pharma admissions. Since BTech/BE admissions require Mathematics as a compulsory subject, the candidates who have opted for Biology in their 10+2th standard examination will not be able to apply for the engineering entrance examination.

The authorities will allow the candidates to answer additional questions, if they are able to complete the 130 questions the BITSAT paper before the duration of the examination ends. There will be 12 additional questions that the candidates will be able to attempt within the remaining time. It is to be noted that the additional questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology sections and Logical Reasoning sections. From each subject, 3 additional questions will be prepared. Candidates who attempt the additional questions will not be allowed to go back and correct their previously answered 130 questions.

Q:   How will BITSAT merit list be prepared?

A:

The concerned authorities of BITS Pilani will create the BITSAT merit list based on the candidate's performance i.e., their obtained scores in the entrance examination. BITSAT merit list will be prepared and released online at bitsadmission.com. It is to be noted that two separate merit lists will be released - admit list and wait list. The names of the candidates who have met the required eligibility and have been selected for admission will be released through the BITSAT admit list. A:

In case the candidates are not satisfied with their BITSAT seat allotment, then they can choose to forgo their seats and remain on the wait list. A:

To qualify BITSAT the students are advised to create a strong preparation plan. Firstly, the students should check and be familiar with the BITSAT exam pattern and syllabus. This will allow the students to understand how the examination will be held and know the subjects and topics that have to be studied. A proper timetable has to be created that will allow the students to finish the syllabus beforehand and give them enough time for revision. Mock tests and sample papers should be attempted regularly so that they are able to understand their weak areas and work on them. While filling out the BITSAT application form, the candidates will have to upload their scanned photograph and signature. However, the candidates are advised to prepare the entire syllabus to have a higher chance of performing well in the entrance examination.
