The Karnataka Exam Authority (KEA) released the KSET Provisional Result 2024 on the official website at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Candidates could check their Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2024 provisional result online on the official website of the examination by providing the application number and date of birth in the space provided. The result consists of the total marks obtained. The last date to raise objections by the candidate was December 19, 2024, if they had any concerns regarding the provisional marksheet. Qualified candidates need to submit the attested copies of the documents for verification before the issue of the KSET certificate.

The KSET (Karnataka State Eligibility Test) is a state-level exam conducted by the Karnataka Eam Authority. The exam is conducted once a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor. The exam is conducted in two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. a) Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes combining both papers)

b) Total marks: 100

e) Marking scheme: Each question carries 2 marks.

There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. F) Syllabus: Teaching and research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.

Paper 2:

a) Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes combining both papers)

b) Total marks: 200

c) Number of questions: 100

d) Type of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

e) Marking scheme: Each question carries 2 marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

f) Syllabus: Based on the subject selected by the candidate. The KSET exam is conducted in online mode. The questions in both papers are in English and Hindi except for languages other than English and Hindi.

All the candidates who are declared qualified in the KSET exam need to submit the attested copies of the following documents to the KSET Centre:

  • KSET result sheet
  • KSET application form
  • Photocopy of bank challan
  • SSLC marks card
  • Master Degree marks cards of all semesters or years
  • SC/ ST/ Cat-I candidates need to submit Life Time Category Certificate

Q:   What is the scope after qualifying KSET exam?

A:

The KSET exam is taken for the candidates who are interested in PhD research and teaching as Assistant professor in colleges and univeristies of India. However, there are other career opportunities other than being Assisatnt Professor or a Research Scholar. The candidates who qualified for the KSET exam can apploy for the PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) such as Indian Oil Corporlation limited (IOCL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), Oil and Natural Gas Corportaion (ONGC), etc. 

The candidates who do not want to join any PSU can take up other options like online tutor, open their own coaching centres, guest faculty, consultant, Lab Trainer, IP lead, Author, Editor, Transmission Executive, Program Executive, etc.

Yes, the Karnataka Exam Authority (KEA) releases the KSET cut off in PDF format which comprises subject and category-wise for the candidates who have taken the KSET exam. Q:   How many attempts are allowed in KSET exam?

A:

There is no limit to the number of attempts allowed for the KSET exam. As long as a candidate meets the eligibility criteria, they can appear for the exam in any number of attempts. The KSET exam is conducted twice a year, and candidates who are not able to qualify in one attempt can appear for the next cycle of the exam. However, it is important to note that candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria for each attempt and pay the application fee for each attempt separately. Also, candidates who have already qualified for the KSET exam are eligible to appear again for the same subject and category.

Procedure for Declaration of KSET Result

The result of the Karnataka State Eligibility Test is declared in three stages. Aspirants need to fulfill the criteria as mentioned by Karnataka Exam Authority (KEA) in order to fulfill the eligibility criteria for lectureship:

Stage 1: Aspirants need to obtain minimum marks in all the papers as listed in the table below. Only those candidates will be included in the KSET merit list who meet the below-mentioned marks requirement.

General

40  aggregate in both the papers taken together

Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, SC, ST, PWD (VH/PH)

35% aggregate in both the papers taken together

Stage 2: KSET merit list is prepared subject-wise as well as category-wise by using the aggregate marks, that is, the total marks of all the three KSET papers, as obtained by the candidates.

Stage 3: From the KSET merit list, the top 6 per cent of aspirants (in each subject and in each category) will be declared as KSET 2024 qualified for eligibility for Lectureship.

Q:   If I qualify for the KSET exam will I get the Assistant Professorship in the University or College?

A:

No, qualifying the KSET exam will not gaurantee the job for assistant professorship in college or university, it is only an eligibility exam. It means that candidates who will qualify for the exam are eligible to become an assistant professorship. To get job as assistant professorship they will need to apply for the vacancies released by the different universities. On the other hand, the qualified candidates who want to take jobs in the government universities have to appear in the exams conducted by the Karnataka state universities.

Also, check the whole syllabus and updates in a particular subject. Updates help you to know recent data and information regarding the subject.

Make Time Table Prepare a timetable according to the subject. Mark important topics and divide each topic in smaller units. Decide the time you should give to each unit to complete the syllabus within the duration. Paper Solving Activity Include this practice.

Solve as many papers as you can of the previous year. Follow the answer key after the paper to check your performance. Indirectly benefit to increase your speed and time accuracy.
